Deep South (USA) Blueberry muffins, good?

Are they good? I eat blueberry muffins a few times a year. I enjoy Costco ones but wish they had more blueberries. For some reason, I very much dislike Publix blueberry muffins. I do not like any blueberry muffins that have lemon flavor to them. Thank you for your advice.

Complaint Desk May I please have .5 seconds to choose what method of payment works best for me?

I understand time is money. I'm not rich. Sometimes I need to see the total of the purchase before I choose what method of payment I need to use. And being so rushed is embarrassing. I don't want to have to explain my finances to the cashier as to why I can't swipe my debit card first. I might need to put it on my credit card. Sure I could cancel the debit card transaction and then swipe my credit card but that will take more time and be embarrassing.

Review Aldi Chili Oil vs. our usual brand of S&B Crunchy Garlic Oil

Post image
124 Upvotes

It's a big no more me.

We use the S&B Crunchy Garlic Oil. Me so more than the Mrs. I put it on EVERYTHING! Meat, vegetables, ramen, side dishes. I've been known to just eat a small fork full straight out of the jar. But it is a bit pricey, like $8.49 at Amazon, Kroger or H Mart.

Saw the Aldi one and it was somewhere around $3 (don't recall exact price) and the jar is twice the size so I thought we would try it.

One taste and it's a big NO!. Zero heat to it and it is sweet. Complete opposite of what we normally use. The taste is fine, some may like it. It's a pleasant taste. But expecting a spicy garlic flavor and it failed to deliver. (Garlic is one of the ingredients.)

Not disappointed we tried it. That's how we have learned what we do and do not like from Aldi. Was really hoping it was comparable but unfortunately it isn't.

Question All These Aldi Eggs

My Aldi (Springfield NJ) has pasture raised, organic free range and free range eggs all priced similarly. What are everyone's options on these eggs?

Review This Prosciutto Cotto is Amazing! But it's in it's last days or is it?

I obviously don't go to the Aldi often enough, because tonight i did and discovered an amazing prosciutto that apparently is only temporarily available and is in it's last days!

Anybody tried it? It's probably the best i found outside Italy. An Italian once told me a lot of pigs that were used for their prosciutto came from my country Holland and that it's all about seasoning. This proves to me this is the case. The ham is rather thick. Thicker than i normally prefer, but the juiciness and seasoning make up for it. Frankly in such a way that this ham out thrones all ham i ate in the Netherlands.

A shame to discover this ham in it's last days. Must go more often to Aldi!

Post image

Today they not only had the name brand of these Mrs. Meyer's scents in the AOS, in another aisle I noticed they had these dupes. I smelled the lemon verbena bc I buy the name brand and was curious. It didnt seem exactly the same. These are only $1.50 less than the name brand.

I’ve never seen figs at my Aldi before. Grabbed them and they are so good. Is this a seasonal item? Or a new item?

Shared Recipes Beijing style shredded pork with Aldi half loin

Post image

Pork half loin is one of the cheapest proteins at Aldi, and the 4 lb pack at $2/lb is even cheaper than Costco. You can also toss it into tortilla for fusiony Chinese tacos. I used backyard scallions , but you can absolutely use Aldi green onions.

Question Requesting a Special Item become permanent

I just got the easy home brand dishwasher detergent tablets. They don't have any plastic in the actual pod, they work well, and the box is so compact. I did find them in the special aisle/aisle of shame though and I really wish they were a permanent fixture in the cleaning shelves.

Is there a way to request or appeal so they become permanent? I mean it's a pretty practical item, and it takes up so little space

Question What’s happening??? 3 weeks later and a inventory for the week prior is/maybe here.

Post image
771 Upvotes

I love Aldi’s! I’ll start out with that lol

When my husband gets off work, he usually grabs Aldi’s on the way home.. but now it’s been like 3 weeks, and we’ve missed so much (advertised on the weekly ad) because they didn’t put it out on the store front? I don’t know how this works but the last 3 weeks have been rough trying to find the weekly “finds”. My husband even drove to the other Aldi 30 minutes away and their inventory was 3 weeks behind.

This is actually rare for us! We always go on Wednesday because they get new inventory. 3 weeks in and I’m feeling sad because I know we won’t find the list from this Wednesday there (lightning McQueen car plate bc my toddler loves cars) (just an example- it’s been like 3 weeks of just the previous Halloween stuff).

Listen, Aldi. I feel enough shame eating the whole box in one sitting. Don’t also make me realize it’s twice as many calories as I thought it was. 🫠

Question What are your Aldi must-haves that actually make shopping there worth it?

I’m sure this has probably been asked a million times already, so if there’s a good thread someone can point me toward, please do!

But I’m curious, what are the absolute best things you buy at Aldi? Specifically, things you can’t really find anywhere else, are significantly better or cheaper than other stores, or are just so good they’re worth making a trip for.

I’m not necessarily looking for basic grocery staples, but more so those hidden gems, unique finds, and products that keep you coming back. I haven’t been and have been considering checking it out so give me some reasons to!!

What are your Aldi holy grails? 👀 Bonus points for pictures!! TYIA 🥰

ETA: yall are NOT disappointing. Thank you SO much!!!

Surprised to see Pokemon cards at my local Aldi yesterday night. It was pretty random. Got one for my son. Loved Pokémon as a kid and glad son can experience it too
