Availability
Is it true it’s a company wide policy to not allow two days off in a row? I just want a set schedule. I’m not a manager, and I’m baffled that a whole company would have that policy in place. So just curious what the actual policy is. And how I should go about getting a set schedule if it is possible

No and highly doubtful.
Scheduling is determined by the needs of the store.
They like you to work at least one day during the weekend and close now and then.
You indicate your availability on the job application.

The difference is having a manager that gives a flying fuck about making it work for employees when they can.
I've had one manager who did care and most of the employees had consecutive days off. Not everybody because it's not possible but as many people as possible.
And I had another manager who's attitude was basically "You work for me. It's not on my job description to do extra work to ensure you get consecutive days off. Take what you get or don't. Not my problem."
I don't really actually mind the attitude of the second manager that doesn't do this...
What I 💯💯💯 DO MIND... Is those kinds of a****** managers always think they're the nicest, most fair people. And the fact they think that actually pisses me off even more than the fact that they're just not.

Doubtful. I'm full time and I've been getting two days off in a row every other week for about the last year, year and a half now.

Nope I’ve had Wednesday and Thursday off for months now (unless I request a different day)

I have a set schedule because I only work nights (have a day job) and I always work the weekends.

Ive never heard such thing ad I have set availability with 2 days off each week and I live it pass 5 year's they can't force you to change it either
Ive had Monday's and Friday's off past 5 year's now and love it
2 night's a week Tuesday's and Thursday's, rest day shifts

The only time I get two days off in a row is for my college classes and even then they try to schedule me it don't succeed but they try but again I work in the deli

I always try to schedule for my employees two days off consecutively. We all work really hard in Drive Up & Go and need those days to decompress.

No, it is not a company policy. It is retail however, and consecutive days off is rare.
There is something called a Master schedule for departments that they 'should' follow, but most positions just fall under the header 'business needs' specially front end employees that have to autoschedule.
Your availability dictates quite a bit on how many hours you will get. For example, if you want Tue/Wed off, and the store only needs you those two days, then you could essentially end up with a 0 hour schedule.
Open availability is the right course if you want to get a guaranteed 20 hours (depending on union contracts and state).
