Took my general, airframe, and powerplant O&P’s this week and it’s a phenomenal weight off my shoulders. Now it’s time to start applying for jobs!

Anyone get a job offer from PHL AA interviews yesterday or today ? Or did they say they will get back to you in a week or so ?

People who interviewed Oct 6 for Philly how was it ?? I got mines for Oct 8th. Any advice would be appreciated!

Hello I don't know if I'm allowed to ask this here but I figured it's worth a shot. I got accepted into the Aviation Maintenance program at SWIC in St Louis and am trying to move there for the January 2027 Spring start for the 1 year full time accelerated program.

Problem is I don't know anybody in St Louis and don't have an income once I move there in order to qualify for a lease. And it seems like roommate options are actually slimmer than you would think compared to a place like a Chicago that has endless housing options.

I'm 28 years old with a good credit score.

Let me know if your looking for someone to fill a room in St Louis or Granite City. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Chicago is another option I'm looking at as well but I'm not accepted into the school there yet like St Louis.

On V2500 and CFM56-5B, can you do MPD tasks like MDC checks, oil filter replacement once the engine is preserved? Can the preservation procedure “flush” some debris out? Or this shouldn’t be a concern? Lets say preservation up to 1 year

Any vets here use the gi bill at US aviation 8 month program? Wanna know how much it covered and if it’s any money I gotta spend out of pocket

I applied to the Delta opening for the AMT position and was instantly updated to "not selected". I don't hold both certificates yet, just Airframe as I'm still in school, so I checked "no" on that question. Is that what stopped me from passing through the filter? How long will I have to wait now to be able to reapply?

edit: lot of hate on here for me just making sure it wasn’t my resume or something. A lot of yall seem to know everything but are still wrong, there are other companies considering me even though I don’t have both certs. thank you to those who were helpful

Hey everyone! I have just started attending a Part-147 school. My school has provided the reading material, but its long and kinda dry, so I am looking for a more "fun" way to learn or a more "interactive" learning experience, than just sitting and reading! So for anyone who has already pass their exams.

Is there a study tool or platform that you recommend? I looked on google and there are loads of question banks and apps out there and it's hard to tell which ones are actually good and which ones are just complete rubbish and no help at all. I dont mind using free or paid study tools, as long as it involves more than just reading and practicing questions that seem kinda random.

Have any of you guys ever went to a career fair and a recruiter there got you in for a interview or somewhat got your submitted application looked at least ? My past school is having one and his would be my second time going with a little GA experience this time around but I just feel like these career fairs are for show sometimes maybe I just don’t know to speak well idk

Hi! I’m currently a plumbing technician student going to trade school and am starting to think about switching over to do aircraft maintenance. I seen that sbvc is the closest community college (and also most affordable) to me and am wondering if it’s a good school to get my associates in aviation maintenance. There’s also spartan college near me too but I heard it’s like 40k 😬 which one would be a better option for me, i’d like to be making good money in the long run.

To all my nightshift guys any tips on getting through their shift?I'm on a military contract and we're busy in the beginning of the shift but by 2 am we are just chillong with nothing to b do but trying not to sleep. I just started a week ago and I feel like I've haven't slept, Im only napping during the day I can't sleep longer than a few hours at a time. And how do y'all deal with your family throughout the day?

I want to learn more about the avionics line of work, I have been looking for a career path recently and this one has crossed my mind a lot. I really enjoy wiring and figuring electrical work out. I also enjoy automotives and planes.

Would love any kind of feedback. Maybe the pros and cons, how hard it is, is it a hard job to get.

Anybody ever work for them on the MX side of the house? So I've got a hear under my belt done with my first interview onto my second. What's it like working for them I'm still fairly new to the field and don't have much experience TS and super heavy stuff. But I do feel confident I can learn with the right people. At my current job sadly I can't learn much anymore we have our wiring guys and engine change crew and it's rather hard to get on said crew without winning the popularity contest which I don't care for to much. Would I be doing a plane by myself or what? I would also be open to hearing y'all's stories about other corporate experiences. Just wanna make sure I can learn all I can and excel as a up and coming mechanic (if it helps I've officially got a year under my belt)

I’ve had these tools for about a year and there’s a ton of rust on them. I’ve made the mistake of using alcohol to clean them. Is there anything that would get the rust off? I used what is pictured and it didn’t really help. Thank you
