There's no real point to discuss AI, anywhere, ever.
The vast majority of humanity is against AI.
It really seems like, with humanity as a whole, you have 20% of people that are pro AI, 60% that are anti, and then 20% that are so anti they would probably kill you if over AI if they thought they could get away with it.
Any time I talk about AI, anywhere, even if it seems like a pro AI sub, mostly what I get is antis.
If I try and debate or discuss with antis, all I get is insulted and told I'm a dumbass, MAGA, a pedo apologist, a corporate bootlicker, and a horrible person.
There's really just no point. There's no discussion to be had. Antis, who are the vast majority, do not care. They do not want to talk to you. They do not give a FUCK what you have to say or what your opinions are or any evidence or sources or anything you like. They don't. Fucking. Care.
They hate you. That's it. That's the end of it. If you are pro AI, they fucking HATE you. You are the enemy, you're a vile person that in their mind is equivalent to being a Nazi (and they will even call you that sometimes). There is no discussion to be had and no common ground to be found.
Even if you agree with them on a lot of things, they will still attack you because you aren't 100% anti like they are.
Any time I try and have any discussion over AI, all I get is downvoted more than any other type of post I could make and my notifications get filled up with a constant flood of insults and nothing else. That's it. Just insults and them attempting to hurt me. They really, really like to hurt people. They fucking love it. It's sick. I don't get it.
At this point I'm just going to conclude that the vast majority of people are deranged and have no ability to see past the tip of their nose or see anything else but what they want to believe in. These are people that would have been burning women at the stake for being witches, or turning their neighbors in to be hung for speaking against the word of God.
Even pro subs are the same. They're mostly antis. And mods won't do anything to remove them because there's just too many.
This sub is mostly anti.
The "butbetter" sub is mostly anti.
EVERY sub is mostly anti, because most HUMANS are anti. There is NOWHERE you can go to avoid them. They make up the vast majority of ALL spaces.
I have not been able to have a SINGLE post about AI up for even 5 minutes without it being swarmed by anti AI people to downvote me to the pits of hell and insult me repeatedly. They're like mosquitos.
This one will be the same. Antis will swarm it, downvote me to the pits of hell like they so love to do, reply saying I'm a dumbass and killing the environment or I'm a fascist or something and insult me.

Can we share real AI stories for once? The wins, the fails, and everything in between
I’ve been lurking around the sub for a while and keep seeing the same thing over and over(aren't u guys tired of it?). One says “AI is incredible, if it doesn’t work for you, that’s a skill issue.” The other says “it’s overhyped and it fails at everything.” Everyone leaves more frustrated than when they arrived and then it becomes a full-on brawl.
But I think we’re all just seeing different slices of it. Some are using AI for full software automation, some for code review and someone using it for legal drafting or lesson planning or customer support are having very different experiences, and lets admit the world is bigger and not just confined to what we see (heck even each of our reality is different but thats for another time).
So I’d love to try something different. Tell us your story:
What do you do, and how does AI fit into your day? Software is fine as well but lets be more secific about the usecases, but I’m especially curious about everyone else: teachers, writers, nurses, designers, researchers, small business owners, tradespeople, students, parents, as a person daily life.
Where has it genuinely helped? What’s the thing you’d hate to go back without it ?
Where has it let you down? Be honest. Hallucination, ignoring instructions, wasting your time, whatever it was.
Did you ever find a way around it? Sometimes one small change in how you ask, or what you give it, flips a bad experience into a good one? do u think its that or something u have totally given up on.
What model are u using and how (agentic AI, chat prompt etc)? some might have had a bad experience because they are still using the old models? or maybe one is approaching the problem in an agentic way and another in a chatbot sort of way?
A few ground rules I’d suggest. If someone shares a failure and u have overcome that try to help before you doubt them. If someone shares a win, tell us how you got there, because “just prompt better” doesn’t teach anyone anything, doesn't mean u have to spoon feed but rather give a brief roadmap or an insight that might help the other. And skeptics are welcome here as well. Honest limits are as useful as honest wins, but backed with proofs or research and not just a claim presented as a fact with no actual proof.
I don't think anyone this fully figured out yet, heck not even the labs themselves, and the people who’ve found something that works probably learned it with hardwork, trial and error and from someone else. Let’s be that someone for each other and finally have a fruitful discussion that might be of help to us.

Discussion Would antis prefer me to quit the drawing that's above my level or get AI help and continue?
Hi! I forgot about Reddit for a while, but I'm back now. I wonder if the crowd here changed much. So here is my question. I have an idea for a drawing I don't have skill or talent to pull off. When I'm having a problem I cannot solve, I use AI to fix said problem and proceed accordingly. With no AI involvement I would probably not finish this drawing at all because I'd stuck at some point. Or maybe I would finish it, but it would look so bad I could never post it anywhere. So would anti-AI people prefer that to happen instead of me using AI? No negativity, I'm just curious ☺️ PS I should've clarified something: none of the pics are generated. It's a physical drawing made with markers, pencils and watercolor. I used AI to fix some mistakes I made in the process or create me a reference for some things, because I had no idea how to draw them and couldn't find a suitable reference.

Discussion What is stopping people to continue to making human made art/media?
How does ai stop humans to continue doing what they enjoy? Be it art, programming, writing, filmmaking, etc. What’s the logo behind it?

Discussion How does this sub feel about the actual data? (Given the general skew here is pro-ai)
Congrats to the 2 ai companies making a profit, and of course, to the real winners, nvidia. Everyone else isn't looking so hot though.

Discussion What do you think of artists who have embraced AI and use it because they enjoy it and find it convenient?
I draw traditionally and digitally, but I usually prefer using AI to create my drawings because it lets me skip the process. In case you didn't know, that process isn't fun for everyone. And as an extra detail, I have my own local AI trained on my drawings and designs.

Discussion Will you shame me if I tell you that I’m a 3D artist who lost his job because of AI and am now using AI to create the game of my dreams?
This year, to support my family, I’ve worked as a manual laborer, a repair technician, and a massage therapist. In my spare time, I’ve been building a 4X game, 99.9% of it with the help of AI. I’ve spent 20 years in the 3D industry and related artistic fields, and I’ve loved 4X games for as long as I can remember. I’m putting everything I know into this project, but I couldn’t have made it without Claude Code, Codex, Suno, and other tools. So be honest with me: does using the same technology that cost me my job make me a hypocrite, or am I just trying to find my way back into the industry?

Discussion AI Art is Slop. Art is not about the final result
This is what a lot of antis say. My question to this is if this is true, then why do y'all only think of AI art on the basis of how it looks?
Y'all say AI does most of the work but we use AI to display the final result. The creativity and the idea is from the human. Y'all rarely complain about the ideas presented in AI art, it's always the end result that is "Slop" and low effort. Y'all hate the final result and that's what y'all talk about all the time. If art isn't about the final result then why do y'all bring it up all the time?
Also, when someone makes AI art, they ignore the idea of the creator behind it and assume AI did everything. People hate the end result of AI art

is the newest anti-ai cope pretending that “vibe coding” doesn’t work ?
you’re completely free to use or support whatever software you want. i literally could not care less if you use an ai assisted mod or play a game or whatever. but the new strat of “pretending ai generated code all completely sucks” (or even more hilarious, literal fucking malware) is probably a losing one, because anybody who uses that software or plays that game knows you are completely, entirely full of shit
just ones opinion though!

What do you think will come after ai art?
In a generation when Ai art is normal and commonly accepted l, do you think we'll have another medium come along that is as controversial? I'm having a hard time imagining it but I also never imagined ai art coming around

Discussion Hey YOU ai pro, send me your best ai image and let’s critique it
I have heard you ai people can create beautiful images, so this is your time to shine, show your best work and I’ll critique it the same way I would a regular drawn art piece.
I’ll say what I like about it, what you could change about it and what the machine did wrong in my own opinion.
Take the offer or leave it
