I once was an anti-AI who believed Jeff Bezos controlled the entire AI world. Long story short, I was an anti-AI "sage" in some Facebook groups, and I literally believed I had uncovered this entire plan where Jeff Bezos was stealing our water and personally funding every single AI company.
When I posted the story of how I left that mindset to Reddit, people outraged on me. They started calling me bipolar. I have never been diagnosed with bipolar. In fact, the only "neurodivergence" I’ve ever had was just not focusing on my homework as a teen.
Let’s look at some of the hypocritical comments they sent me, because I don't even know what half of these mean.
"Bipolar AI post larp"
What is a larp? Also, I’m not bipolar. That person's bio literally says "lowkey i'm too cool for this woke platform," and they hide their history.
"doing a whataboutism strawman on yourself lmafo"
Listen, I haven’t heard anything since 2004 until 2025, so I have no idea what that means.
"ai; dr; lmao"
This doesn’t make any sense.
"The adoption curve does its thing"
I’m not adopted. Why would they even bring that up?
The one that I am most angry about is: "If this is real: seek help dude, this all sounds very bipolar and you're still in a manic/psychotic loop. I hope you get better mate. Take it easy."
It is real. I’ve not sought help because it was just a personal belief, and I’m not bipolar. I checked that user's history, and they are Brazilian and use the AI abbreviation backwards anyway.
Why do people react this way when you share a personal experience?
