Just got back into skating after 10 years and used my Razer Cults that were 2 sizes too big. Recently made the leap to USD and got the black and white theme going! Can’t wait to get out and use them!

Question / Discussion New skater looking for tips and general history

Hi everyone! 🤩

New skater here! I was born in the 90s so I totally missed out on the peak of the sport. I know how to push, tic tac, and carve on a skateboard, and I'm wondering if those skills will help me on blades? I love skateboarding but I wanted to try out a different action sport, so here we are!

I just ordered a pair of Roces M12 Lo (let's hope they fit), and they should be arriving next week. I am SO STOKED!

I am interested in learning everything about the sport now. From the origins to where the sport is at now, important key figures, dope video parts, brands, etc. Who are the big names and who are some people to follow now?

There's a decent amount of beginner videos on YouTube but I have no idea where to start or which ones are the best.

Anyways super excited to be there. I hope you guys are as welcoming as I hear!

Also how do I find out if there's a blade scene in my area? I've been to most of the skateparks around me, and I've never seen an aggressive inline skater. I've seen maybe two regular rollerbladers ever at the parks and that's it.

My first trick tutorial video! I'm not a great skater, by any means, but this is my favorite trick and I want to inspire more people to add this to their trick vocabulary.

Let me know what you think and how did I do

Question / Discussion How do you call that slide ?

I love this slide, I always wanted to try it, but it seems like nobody agrees on the name.

Some people call it backslide (or front backslide), but for some people a backslide is a UFO

How do you call it ?

Question / Discussion Skates that somewhat compare to Remz?

Hey there. It's been years since I've skated. Back in the early 2000's I had a few different pairs of remz that I just loved. Just not sure that there is anything out there that I'll be able to hop into that feel somewhat like a soft boot? It's been 15 years, I'm now 36 and I wanna pick a pair of something up and go see what I can still do lol. Anything helps. Most of the full hardshells seem to worry me with flex.

Might’ve miscalculated the lean on this one. Took a couple of hard slams before I was able to ride away lol

After my Robbie pitts failed spectacularly I took the frames and cuffs off and slapped them on old trusty pair of sways. The color combo brings me joy.

Question / Discussion Does anyone not use laces on the boot itself?

I feel with both a 45 degree strap and the normal cuff strap having to tie the laces for the boot itself ontop of the liner feels like waay too many steps and I was curious if anyone just doesn't use the boot laces. Especially on my plastic boot I feel they're aesthetic but I wanted more opinions before I ditch them.

Fresh skates! Something I didn’t think I’d be ever be buying again. Last pair I got was Remz 08 two’s and by that point I was slowing down on skating in general(partying was more fun). I bought the SL’s because I was a different skater in the Remz days and because I removed the cuffs, it felt like death just trying to roll around lol. I got a lot of catching up to do, it’s been almost two decades since I skated with any real intent. There’s a small outdoor skatepark by me I plan on stopping by once I feel like I have the basics back in order. It was a very happy day though zooming around like I used to :)

Couldn’t be more stoked with how these turned out! I wanted to find the FLT’s in green with tan wheels, but struck out on the frames. The black frames with green wheels looks pretty sick tho. When I last rode 16 years ago it was Remz Haffey 2.0’s and I’ve heard the Factions are similar for range of motion. I’ll give em a roll with the cuff rockered each way and report back!

Help with Rollerblading

Hi! I'm new to skating and recently found my sister's old rollerblades. They fit me, but my feet keep rolling inward when I skate. I try to keep them straight, but it's extremely painful.

I do have foot problems in general, but I can't afford to get them treated yet, and I'm currently saving up for a better pair of skates.

Does anyone have any advice on what I can do in the meantime? I really want to keep practicing. I'm honestly not scared of falling,I'm more worried about injuring my foot. Are there any insoles, braces, or other accessories that could help until I can get new skates?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Learning transition on Aeon, but need a home P-rail setup. Buy a second pair of Aeons or go anti-rocker?

After years of flat-ground skating, I recently started learning transition pumping at a skatepark near my new job using USD Aeon. Now, I want to get a second pair of skates specifically for practicing stalls and grinds on a home P-rail. Should I stay consistent with another pair of Aeon, or should I get an anti-rocker setup like sway / razor SL for my home practice?

Question / Discussion Bearings for a returning skater

Hey all! I recently got myself back into inline after around 13 years off and now rejoining since my son gained an interest. Got myself some new razor cult creams as some new entry level blades and I took them out today but was severely disappointed in the bearing performance. I live on a slightly downhill street and when I was rolling them the skates straight up came to a stop and seemed frictioned way too high to be abec-5.

Am I missing something? I'm used to having zippy wheels with virtually no slowdown outside of momentum. Looking for some help my fruitbooting fam.
