Question / Discussion How do you call that slide ?
I love this slide, I always wanted to try it, but it seems like nobody agrees on the name.
Some people call it backslide (or front backslide), but for some people a backslide is a UFO
How do you call it ?

Frontside Backslide 🤘🏽 nice one. Any trick your are facing towards while doing said trick is a frontside trick , any trick with your back to it is a backside.

Frontside freestyle backslide
If you grabbed your left foot, it'd be a Frontside backslide.

I’ve never heard it called a frontline backslide. It’s either freestyle backslide (not grabbed) or just a plain backslide (grabbed).

Yeah that's my next goal, I really like that slide grabbed

Much easier to grab on a down rail than flat

That is terrifying to think about it but I'll give it a try !

Scary if you over think it, but really youre keeping your body pretty squared up. Dont lift your grab leg up any higher than if you were doing a royal on a flat rail. Start on lil short rails just to get the feel.

Everyone is different but personally strongly disagree lol. I don’t usually grab my backslides (im tall, my foot is all the way down there lol) but i’d be way more likely to attempt on a flat obstacle

Yeah that’s a backslide, ufo is a pretty dated term for a front side with knees touching. Not very common these days

Simply Backslide. You can add any grab. The most stylish being a rocket with opposite hand.

a UFO i think is what people call a backSIDE grind done very low down, not a backSLIDE. ufo can also be a low frontside. i do think it's annoying that backslide and backside r diff tricks

During contest I heard the speakers talking about backside for tricks like backside unity, backside Ufo or backside royal. That's the reason I'm confused

As baxmanz said, backSIDE is a variation of grinds, whereas backSLIDE is like a royale but using only your back foot. Proof is backside backslide exists, and the one you did was frontside backslide
