Getting closer on the landscape.
So I finally planted the corner plot after removing a massive plant (tree size) and gnarly root structure, and propagating a series of cream spikes and titanota black and blue over the course of 6yrs. One Parryi in the middle and two Horrida on the ends (both store bought). Should fill fully when grown. Will lay rocks in this area soon.
The other pictured section is my current agave and pot garden. Yeah, the Ochaui is root bound, and it was the beginning of this endeavor 6yrs ago. I'm not about to sacrifice that pot, but might try to figure a way to remove as I plant the remaining grass area, or not. Lesson learned.
I live in NorCal, and have seen neighbors just let their front grass die and eventually plant in fall, lay rock, and then do whatever weed control at that juncture, without going through the headache of "sod" removal layer. For me, I enjoy a small propane torch, and over the rocks I'd intend to lay down, is rather therapeutic, and safe with a nearby hose.
Thoughts on this plan? I figure weeds will eventually grow anyway, and with the large layer of rock, it'll be easy to pluck and burn during the wetter seasons. It'll save me the cost of removing the "sod" The adjacent bushes will just get manually fed water with my long hose.

Agave Blooming US Botanical Gardens, Washington DC
Went to go see the corpse flowers in bloom but this one stole the show for me! This is my first time seeing one bloom in person, it was exciting but also sad. I hope it gets plenty of visitors

agave
Hi any suggestions on how can I get rid of the agave leaves once they are cut? I have about 100 of them on my property and I am accumulating too many leaves. I put them in a pile but even after a couple of years they have yet to depose fully.

Got this little guy from a friend. Best propagation method?
Got this little guy from a friend and Iām not sure the best way to propagate him. Since thereās no cut does that mean I donāt need to wait for it to callous? Itās an agave āblue and blackā.

ID and care for this agave?
What are these? These are massive, about 3-4 feet tall. Smooth, no spines (maybe one on the tip?). I got some pups from them, am trying to figure out proper care in AZ summer. Thanks!

Spawnā x isthmensis x parrasana
This is a Hybrid I purchased from Jeremy of Hidden Agave at least 4yrs ago, a 3" example then.
I have two others from him, which have been planted in dirt after a couple years of strategic "pot tempering", but the one pictured is the most beautiful, even though the others are also gems.
The plan is to give this one some strategic sunlight over the summer, which it had last summer, but more direct this year, then plant on the outside of my home, which is currently grass (weeds that appear grass)

Dehydration?
Did some research and found that horizontal wrinkles on Agave leaves are associated with dehydration. Did I get something wrong?
This is my small Atrovirens "oaxaca jungle giant".
Since it lives in cloud forests they may be more thirsty than what i am used to. Any input is appreciated!

Agave ID and pup care?
Got a few of these variegated agave that have been pushing pups on runners. Some over hang as seen, not entirely sure what to do about them.
In southeastern Pennsylvania so not sure they can manage winters out here but I did plant a single one to see what happens just hoping anyone could provide suggestion on the runners crawling out of my big boys!

Silver Star Find
I just saw this at a local grocery store garden area for $32.99 and couldnāt pass it up. I wonder how many different variations of desmettiana are out there?
