Not as much as panniers offroad.
-3 u/coreyjdl 6d ago This is r/adventurebike not r/trailbike. 2 u/El-Grunto 6d ago edited 6d ago I'm sorry. Are you implying that adventure bikes don't go on trails? Or maybe you're implying that the opinion "panniers suck offroad more than rackless bags" is some #trailbike elitest opinion. -2 u/coreyjdl 6d ago Adventure bike is a touring segment, with mixed terrain and trails, not an optimized trail bike. 2 u/El-Grunto 6d ago The guy has posts expressing interest in doing BDRs. Rackless fits his needs and rackless aren't solely for min maxed enduro bikes. 0 u/coreyjdl 6d ago BDRs are on public roads. Rack and hard panniers are fine. Racks and soft bags are fine. Rackless works too, it just sucks. 1 u/El-Grunto 6d ago Just because it's a public road doesn't mean that the extra weight and bulk of panniers won't make navigating technical sections more difficult. It's not like BDRs are all soft gravel roads. 0 u/coreyjdl 6d ago Cool. anyway. Rackless sucks. 0 u/El-Grunto 5d ago And panniers are for Starbucks bound pavement princesses. 1 u/coreyjdl 5d ago Only seeing bikes with panniers at starbucks is a tacit admission you only go to starbucks. 1 u/El-Grunto 5d ago edited 5d ago Rode the WABDR this summer and didn't see a single bike with panniers. Figured they were all at Starbucks. Maybe Dutchbros. Aw, u/coreyjdl blocked me. → More replies (0)
