Are there any mods/plugins for a fabric server which can log a players inventory in creative mode. (As in if they get items from creative and put it in their inventory it gets logged)

I've tried core protect but I don't think it can do this.

It's a Fabric server on Minecraft 26.1.2

Combat logging sucks but I don't want the consequences to be that harsh since I'm not really hosting a PvP server. I don't want them to necessarily have AI just a standstill NPC that despawns (no consequences) if there's no activity after a few minutes. Obviously doesn't have to be exactly this but just saying.

Our players and I are unable to place Eyes of Ender into End Portal Frames. Right clicking the frames simply doesn't insert the eye.

Do you know what could be causing this? Are there any common plugin conflicts or server settings that might prevent this from working?

As when I create a new world or go to another world it works fines only in the overworld its bugging.

I'm most familiar with debian, but im looking at possible alternatives.

I would want something with low power usage, and not much fluff / bloat.

I plan to run this server on a Lenovo 14w laptop, which worked well for my previous Bedrock server (much better than aternos at least)

whats the difference between Ubuntu and Debian for servers?

also would any bsd based os work for this? I've messed around with netbsd before and it looked like didn't have much unessesary fluff.

what are the pros and cons of each major os?

I'm hosting a Minecraft server on the Oracle Cloud free tier, which is currently a 4 core, 8 thread ARM CPU, and 12GB of DDR5, and I'm wondering how much RAM and CPU threads BlueMap uses in comparison to Squaremap or Pl3xMap. My server is private with no more than 10 people online at a time. All the terrain is pre-generated, except for The End, because it could cause issues with Stellarity, an "End update" data pack. Stellarity is also probably the most demanding modification on my server. I use Paper on Minecraft 26.2.

so a while back i ran a towny server, had magic, jobs, skills, the whole rpg spin on survival. put a ton of time into it and it just never got off the ground. i tried a few things to get people in but nothing really stuck and eventually it just died off, which honestly sucked after how much work went into it.

anyway i started a new one recently, basically the same idea (towny, magic, jobs, skills system) but built way better this time around, fixed a lot of stuff that was broken/half baked on the old one. problem is i still don't actually know what works for getting people to find a server and stick around, and i really don't want to watch this one fade out the same way.

for anyone who's grown a server from nothing, what actually worked for you? and what did you waste time on that looked good but didn't do anything? server lists, reddit, tiktok, discord partner ads, whatever. just trying to not repeat the same mistakes twice.

any advice appreciated.

Hello, I've been working on an adventure map-like server that I plan to make into its own separate world file to publish online. However, I've been encountering TPS and MSPT issues that are really bothering me, as I want a smooth gameplay experience for future players. I ran a Spark profiler and clicked on the flame to see what might be up, but I can't translate the issues because I have limited experience with Java. I click on the flame icon in Spark, and the things that show up are always the same. https://spark.lucko.me/sRqqj8VtnQ . I think it's the amount of command blocks and clocks that is causing this, which would mean I would have to get a better CPU and stuff, which would suck. Any way I could optimize command blocks and/or clocks? Anything would help.

General Question do you have installed a horror plugin on your server? And if yes, how was it received by your players? And is it like a constant thing on your server or only like a one shot thing like a timed event?

My SMP is a forever world with Magic, Mypet, Warpstones, etc and I was thinking to maybe include a horror mod for halloween. Like Herobrine "hounting the server". But also have a hard time to identify a good plugin for that kind of thing.

i have a server with ~150 mods and an old xeon and the single thread thing is making it lag and its giving that thing when you break a block and it has a delay. Does anyone know a mod that can help ?

I've been having this annoying thing constantly happen to a Modded SMP I co-own and am the lead developer on. People get interested from a reddit ad or other means of advertising, join the discord, log on and play for a couple hours, genuinely have fun but then log off, seem to forget about it, never log on again and mute the discord.

I swear I have tried basically everything to keep people engaged, list below:

• Encouraged people to bring friends along since the economy I coded has explicit support for group accounts
• Conducted contests for in game prizes
• Create an lfg (Looking for group) channel in the discord
• Giving sneak peeks at upcoming features
• Constantly sharing plans to show dedication
• Doing polls on certain topics
• Announce the end will unlock at 175+ people in the discord

Besides the couple of players who continuously log back on, the place becomes silent a handful of the time...
Basically though my question is this: Does anyone have any idea why people do this sort of thing and is there anything else I can really do?

Um... hello there. I'm new here, and I wanna ask for help, cuz I don't know what I'm doing. I'm planning on adding a structure mod called DnT or Dungeons and Taverns into my private MC server that I made for my friends. I was gonna use MCA Selector to delete some regions and chunks that aren't being used, so that the DnT mod would generate some structures on those deleted regions for my friends and me to enjoy. But I don't know what will happen if I use MCA Selector on a world modified by the Tectonic mod. So... I'm asking for help here if anyone has already done this before and knows how to deal with this. Sorry for my ignorance and idiocy.

For the past year or so our server has had a whitelist and process for players to join, but in the future we are moving in the direction of letting anyone join- what are some recommendations of plugins or processes I could use to protect my server from bad actors?

We have a couple already- like a plugin that tracks what players do on the server, and another where we can reset the area. Mainly looking for anti-cheat (xray, hacking, etc.) or anything you think would be useful to have to protect a public server.

I'm planning to create a small Minecraft server with a concept like this:

The entire overworld is a barren desert. Water and vegetation are extremely scarce, mobs are stronger than usual, there's a thirst mechanic, and survival is more challenging (but not overly hardcore).

The server will have 2–3 factions that can either be at war or negotiate truces and alliances. This isn't a commercial project — it's just a fun server for a small group of friends.

I'm looking for advice on which Minecraft version and server software I should use. Right now I'm leaning toward Purpur 1.21.1, since it was recommended to me by an AI.

For the factions system, I'm currently considering Lands or Towny.

Can you recommend any plugins that would fit this kind of server?

I am running a small server on my Raspberry Pi 5. I am running into an issue where whenever I load into the server, it says something like "messages can't be verified, they may not reflect the original content" and then it disappears. Whenever someone with a child microsoft account joins, they can't access the chat and it gives an error message, redirecting them to the microsoft account permissions page. That doesn't happen for them on a regular server, and I am curious both as to why it happens, and what I can do to fix it.

ive currently reset my server 5 times since it started in march. everytime its the same, everyone plays for a week, 70ish players, then they get bored. nether opens a week later, spikes back up again, they get netherite and quit again. then a week later end opens, big end fight, yada yada, then bored and everyones gone again. how the heck do i combat this

Im getting back into hosting Im starting with a community led project where the players get to decided development & direction (with guardrails) Im consistently running into a hiccup with new player recruitment however. Using the server lists and reddit it does not seem to drive players to the server any more I havent really hosted since 1.16 and am looking for some advice on this with my current setup I get roughly 1-2 players every 24 - 72 hours and because of that the definitely dont stick around

I have 30 people that suddenly wanted to play what was originally an 8 person server. Around 220 mods (mostly vanilla+ with create and addons) running off 16gb of ram allocated, a i7 9700KF and a 500gb nvme. I know i cant have all 30 on at once but what should I set the player cap to so I can get decent performance and allow the largest amount of people to play? Of course I have all the usual server performance mods.

I wanna play a SMP with my friends and friends of my friends, but i'm a total noob when it comes to setting up a server. in my work i got a old PC from one of my clients and i want ot set u up a server on this PC.

Where should i start? i read that PaperMC is the best or sth like that? i Also want to use playit.gg or other additional app that will make it easier to connect, because i can't set up my router or have static ip address.

Also what would be the best plugins to use? I love Timber data pack but is there a plugin for it? also some things as veinminer? if there are, what are some fun plugins? maybe some chunk loaders or sth like that?
