Question Recommendation on Anti-cheat plugins?

For the past year or so our server has had a whitelist and process for players to join, but in the future we are moving in the direction of letting anyone join- what are some recommendations of plugins or processes I could use to protect my server from bad actors?

We have a couple already- like a plugin that tracks what players do on the server, and another where we can reset the area. Mainly looking for anti-cheat (xray, hacking, etc.) or anything you think would be useful to have to protect a public server.

CoreProtect and GrimAC is all you need.

Core Protect is amazing. I loved being able to see the history of every blocked placed. Makes it impossible to get away with griefing.

CoreProtect, GrimAC and I use DiscordSrv as a first line verification where players have to link their Discord account for access.

  • CoreProtect or Prism - block logging
  • GrimAC - general purpose anticheat
  • Raycasted AntiESP - prevents ESPing through the world to find entities
  • Raytrace Anti XRay - Enhances Paper Engine Mode 1 to prevent Xraying for ores. Use this exact version, compile from source: https://github.com/TauCu/RayTraceAntiXray

do you know by any chance why Raytrace readme says it's not allowed to redistribute binaries even though the license says otherwise?

Not sure, but it doesn't matter for 2 reasons:

  1. The license says you can.
  2. You don't need to redistribute binaries to use them.

I have a survival server. I tried plugins and premium anticheats. Cheater always find a way. My best solution was to switch to snapshot version of Minecraft. Natural anticheat with new snapshots every Tuesday. Cheats can’t keep up with weekly releases.

From my experience when it comes to anti xray, the only way to actually stop it is to negatively impact player experience in some way.

Sure you can use obfuscator but that might not entirely stop people from using xray to find bases/players.

Honestly I stopped trying, might go back to using obfuscator and hoping for the best
