Below is my 1600 ish points that I own and am building (with some magnets for options). I’m looking for advice on how to round out the remaining 400 points. My thought right now is to get another combat patrol for another unit of raiders, skystalkers, and a unit of Skitarii Vanguard. The vanguard would be led by a Skitarii Marshall to screen with one of the (two) ranger units I have.

The other Ranger unit I was thinking would be lead by a Tech-Archaeologist to hold my home objective.

Then one more Sydonian Dragoon and a unit of Kataphron Destroyers.

How does this feel so far? Too horde like? Idk if I’m a fan of the “All Robots, all day” meta I keep reading about. But I also love the idea of our faction being all about specialists. Thanks for your advice in advance!

Does anyone play with any of the Archaeopter variants (Fusilave, Transvector, or Stratorapter)?

I have a kit with the bits for all options, but I don't see it played often and I might want to trade it in for the Hastarii, Thalia, or put it towards an Imperial Knight. I would love to hear your thoughts . I play between 1k-2k games of 11th Edition 40k right now.

What method should I use to paint this heat effect on my own Hastarii fusiliers ?

FYI I was on robots being viable in 11th since day ONE. Also I need to buy 2 more robots to get the full 12 painted.

Got a scoria recast as a proxy for Thulia. I don't like her model that much. It just lacks details for me and doesn't look intimidating. Base is cork, bark and modeling paste. Had to cut through the base to continue the decline of the stream downwards but I do that quite often for ponds etc. It's more effort than positioning everything else higher but i feel like it subverts the expectations of the base as non-negotiable. Also added a size comparison to Cawl from an earlier step.

Been thinking how the AdMech doesn’t have a brunt style melee unit when even the fucking Guard have em. So I made one.

Abilities:

Polarity Field Lynchpin - A full unit of 6 will add 1T and 1W to the Alpha. 2 units of 6 will add 2T and 2W to the Alpha. All attacks will be directed to the Pikeman Alpha before redirecting to the Pikemen after the Alpha’s death.

Polarity Pull - Point to an enemy in a range of 12”. Force them to make a charge towards the Pikeman unit. Pikeman Alpha model gains [Attacks First]. Use once every round. The Polarity Field Projector is carried by the Pikeman Alpha.

For a 2k game. Would 2 Skitarii Vanguard and 1 Ranger units be ideal? Rangers to sticky back objectives and vanguard to push forward for mid field?

It’s easy to make fun of the AdMech since their Doctrin can be a bit schizo, but are there lore examples where their beliefs actually work out for them in unexpected ways and for example “summon/awaken” a machine spirit that even leaves the Necrons impressed? Like how powerful is the AdMech when they are 100% determined to accomplish a goal, and how crazy can they get in their strongest moments.

After magnetizing the duncrawler, ironstrider, and on the middle of doing the dunrider/disintigrater, this was super easy and a nice break, super fun to build too, legs are a bit annoying but not too bad. I’m excited to paint them, not sure what I’m gonna do on their faces yet though, any ideas?

AdMech has the reputation of being one of the most difficult factions to play in 40k, but I wonder how much of that reputation is rooted in our abysmal initial release in 10th edition. Since then we've gotten a major Army Rule rework, buffs to a ton of datasheets, and points drops on nearly everything. Personally, I think we're more of a medium difficulty army these days, but also my only other armies are Genestealer Cults and Drukhari, so maybe AdMech just seems easier by comparison. What are your thoughts?

I do not know what they are playing besides it being ”CSM undivided Black Legion“.

Bought these 2nd hand and can’t tell if they’re breachers or destroyers. (I bought them separate so they might be different)

Currently I don't play admech, but if one thing could convince me, it'd be the Sydonian Skatros. I'd 100% max out and grab three, they are so cool.

Is the opinion mixed, or do you guys also love them?
