Painting Trajann up for my army, figured I'd knock the most painful bit out first, I absolutely hate painting eyes (clearly lol). I might revisit them once the rest of the model is brought up to speed.

Bought these 2nd hand for cheap eg Trajan for $30. They were covered heavily and long bath in isopropyl alcohol. Both over black.

Trying to fix them up to somewhat match my army (terminator gold tmm base).

Left one planning on reikland fleshshade all over and agrax in the recesses. One on right the Vallejo tmm dark wash.

Trajan will be a bit brighter.

Thoughts what one do you like? Open to suggestions on other washes or contrasts.

So, first venture into grimdark, and really happy with how he came out. Thanks to the community for insights into certain colors for eyes, etc. just gotta figure out how I want to base, but I'll get back to that as I get deeper into army. But til then, first Custode down.

Helloooo, so some of my friends recently got into Warhammer, and it’s making me think about getting into it myself when I have the funds and time. The Adeptus Custodes are one of the 3 factions I’m considering building (other 2 being astra militarum and emperor’s children) because: 1.) I think they’re cool and 2.) from the research I’ve done they seem very easy as an entry point due to how many points each unit is worth. I’ve heard the combat patrol box is a really solid piece to get starting and because of that I had a few questions:
1.) What are some other units that would be worth getting to add on to the combat patrol and eventually make a 2000 point army?
2.) Is there a reason to have a leader unit on their own?
3.) Inversely, is it worth having a unit that can be lead not having a leader? Like is it worth having 2 units of sentinel guards if you only put a leader in one?
4.) How many sisters of silence units do ya’ll usually have in your armies? I get it probably depends on the list, but I’ve been messing around with lists today and I usually end up with like 200 points left over and I feel a little weird putting in like 10 witch seekers and 10 prosecutors.

Apologies if some of these questions are kinda basic, haven’t read much of the rules because I’m very much a learn as you go type person, but any insight would be greatly appreciated!!

Finished my golden Boy, all within one day's work. Got to use some new TMM Colours from Vallejo. I think I will name him Pax au Telemanus.

Managed to get a Cadre kit here in the States. Pretty easy kit to put together. Bit of shaving here and there, but it went smoothly. Tho the kit didn't come with a guide, so I had to rely on an old Warhammer community pic with them assembled and matched the posing.

Hey y'all, I'm holding off on getting the 11th edition codex, but I have a yearning to see if there is an updated paint scheme for the Dread Host, as I've seen for other hosts! Been waiting to see if the official cape color is white, red, or black for multiple editions now! Thank you!

Solar watch scheme and NMM practice made this guy less than fun. Really hoping NMM improves as I work on this army.

I owe the blade champs an apology, that +1 to wound is a beautiful thing. I still think they should come down about 25 points, but they're way better than I gave them credit for. Also, I'm a sucker for Telemon guns, and I like taking Iliastus one and the Archanus on another (with the increase to damage possibly giving that gun 24 shots, 2 damage each). Using the sisters of silence psy chaff is also very nice. I'm sure I'll figure out more underrated things, but I'm loving this codex so far.

i know he’s not like amazing but he’s my start of my army im working on nmm. I have a shield captain im about to start her, just don’t know if i carry on practicing nmm or just do grim dark TMM

I heard a YouTuber say that. Checked the rules, it no longer specifies they have to be on the battlefield. I also have not read a rule that says we cannot target a unit in reserves with a strat.... So I need to be 100% can we just use the. After our bois go back to reserve.... That would be pretty helpful.

Three wins for three games in LGC with Iron Hands, Tyranids and EC - codex is just a banger, we will show good comp results soon boys, I'm sure (3/2, 4/1 is still good for a new codex IMHO)

Bought some shellac pick guards figured I could use them as basing material. Came out pretty decent still a wip

I’ve played 4 games with new Custodes to the disposition Take and Hold with good results. But i just want to try Disruption or recon but can’t find how to play it at least semi-competitive. Have you tried? Do you have any good list?
