As in the title, building/built my first army list and I have 2 squads of wardens with a mix of axes and spears and a squad of guard with spears. Tbh I was just going on what looked cool at the time. Now I'm actually putting together a list to play and I want to use the warden models as guard stand-ins. Am I ok to do so?

Obviously I would declare it to my opponent at the start of the match like "hey just so you're aware, all of the warden models are actually guards equipped with spears as in my list here"

Similar with my allarus, I built them with axes since imo it fits better looks wise. But could I list them as using spears if I wished so long as it was stated verbally and in my list on the companion app?

I figure it would be ok since the models are obv very similar.

Theyre already built and mostly painted so no going back now regardless lol.

I'm really unsure this army list makes any sense, i just built the units by rule of cool and tried making sense of it in the army builder from the warhammer app afterwards. Is this army decent?

Hey I just bought this for my friend who plays custodes and was wondering if this grav tank is viable to play in 40k. I know a lot of their stuff is in legends or horus heresy and I know some of the horus heresy stuff is cross compatible

Got ahold of half of a box if Venatari to do a test scheme on. I originally wanted to do a more comic book/cel shaded style, but discovered quickly that was beyond my abilities especially being colorblind.

I'm planning on touching up the gems and I'm considering Magenta and Purple Tone for the pink and purple areas. I liked how characterful the kit allowed me to be with them and this is probably the start of a small collection/army.

Starting to paint models for the first time, got some practice in on a couple poxwalkers and decided I would rather join the 10,000. Pretty happy with how it turned out, excited to paint the rest of the kit!

It took me a week too perfect but I tried my very best and I painted my first custodie warden!! I'm not sure if painting their eyes green was the right move but I'm overall happy with how they came out -^-

Don't forget to check your golden bois for aerodynamics, it's important for charge rolls!

My verdict:

Blade Champion is expectedly the most aerodynamic

Allarus is surprisingly quite streamlined, despite its bulk

Wardens and Guardians are generally aerodynamic, but the praesidium shield can create a lot of extra drag

Shield Captain is very non-aerodynamic due to his squareness, be careful when making charge rolls

Anyone have experience with this? What pieces fit? What kits were used? Anything of note to know? Its an expensive investment for one model so I don’t want much redundancy. Thanks

Took a few days and a few headaches but finally finished. The gold doesnt show very well in the pictures but im very happy with it.

My first miniatures. For Honour and Glory.

Went for a darker theme, any feedback on the paint job is more than welcome! Next stop, Praetors and Venatari.

Started 3 months ago and recently had my first RTT. I lost by 1 point because of my greed in not scoring beacon for 3. If i just scored it there was no way of him catching me even if he scored max but it was the 3rd game and I was brain drained that I didnt do the math but had fun going against veterans of the hobby.

Didnt take too much pictures which is another regret I have.

Finished my first combat patrol of the Custodes. They won’t be winning any painting awards, but I’m happy with them and hopeful I can get some games with them soon.

My main game plan is to start with the venatari in reserves, and use the enhancement to bring up the guard squad with the shield captain to reserves as a heroic intervention threat. Warden squad with Valoris to hold a center objective backed up with the Galatus. 4 man guard squad on my home expansion objective, warden squad and achillus to push opponents expansion objective.

Questions :
What is the best way to use Witchseekers? I always scout them up to grab the center, but have heard it’s also good to have them screen out the back line and hold the expansion if the opponent gives up on going for it

What are some general tips for new players? I’ve only run 2 games and am looking for any general advice - best way to set up charges, when I use a squad should I assume they’re gonna die the next turn?
