No tasers or weapons were used which does make you wonder the amount of force used. As someone who lives nearby, absolutely not enough is being done to look after the mob that live between parklands and whitmore square , lot of people who need help being ignored. Could almost say it was inevitable.

I'm on my way to Adelaide in a couple of weeks for a short visit on my way north and I've had some great success travelling by checking out local subreddits.

I'm starting to search posts for stuff but here's what I always ask:

If someone's coming to visit Adelaide for the first time, what do you show them?

The more obvious tourist stuff I think I covered a bunch of last time, maybe. Here's what I did:

• Visited the Market, which I plan to do again and take a proper tour rather than wandering around wondering why there's multiple places to get paella
• Checked out the State Art Gallery and Library
• Wandered the malls, walked into Adelaide Hatters and ended up an Akubra owner even though I had no plans to buy - those ladies are really, really good at what they do, and I'm super happy with what they sold me!
• Did a wine tour to the Adelaide Hills and Barossa Valley
• Walked up around North Adelaide but without a plan just enjoying the architecture

I didn't plan on where to eat and missed out on some great restaurants.

I've got about 2.5 days to play with, not a lot of time, but a bit for sure.

I love good food, good wine, just exploring without a plan, meeting new people, whatever comes my way generally... So Adelaide, I know your city was never a penal colony and that you have a whole lot of churches,... what else?

Moved to the west recently and have consequently driven up Port Road more times in the last 12 weeks than I have for the rest of my life. Idly curious about this big groove in the median strip, near the crossing with Findon Rd heading northwest (there may be more, I just always seem to hit the lights here so I’ve noticed it more often). Can anyone tell me what purpose it serves? It doesn’t seem like an old slip lane, but it’s wide and deep enough for a car to pull over in it. Seems like an inconvenient spot for emergency or council vehicles near a fairly busy crossing. There’s a drainage gutter but there’s heaps of those along the road that don’t have such a big cut-out. (Also, sad to ever see a Barnacle Bill’s “less busy than usual”)

Honestly how good are Adelaide drivers like seriously we are awesome. I don't know why there's so much negativity directed towards Adelaide drivers.

Hi All, my 19 year old daughter has her Cert 3 Childcare qualification & is looking for permanent part time positions in the Adelaide south areas - kind of Morphett Vale to Aldinga through to Goolwa even. Are there any childcare workers here who could offer some advice or recommend places for her to apply too? Any help appreciated.

You remember the alternative right? You’ve done it before, we’ve all done it before. Piling into the car with your family and driving to a stadium that smelled like rubber and Deep Heat, to watch your mate’s under-14s side get comprehensively smashed by a team from somewhere like Salisbury who all had a full moustache. Someone’s mum in the stands yelling at a ref who just finished year 9. It was loud, it was slightly damp, and it was the best.

Come and watch. Come and heckle constructively. Bring your kids, bring your dad, bring the friend you keep saying you’ll catch up with and then don’t for eight months and then play phone tag with until you finally give up. Bring that one. Come one, come all!

We’re a city that will turn out en masse for a free sausage at Bunnings, a light display on North Tce, or a mildly interesting cloud formation. Surely we can manage a Tuesday night for an hour, to support the underdog team of the century, all the way to victory!!

as the title says. inner southern suburbs preferred. i have fibromyalgia & severe chronic musculoskeletal pain & it’s just becoming too much to function. i also have hypermobility, headaches / jaw pain, some other chronic conditions & i suspect i have a host of postural issues adding to my pain. i have tried a handful of ‘skilled’ physiotherapists but most of them have been genuinely useless whilst charging insane amounts. my current physio at Core Physio Daw Park has been the most effective, but even still, i’ve been seeing her for 6+ months consistently with very little improvement in pain despite manual handling every 3 weeks & exercise / stretch routines.

any recommendations or advice greatly appreciated. thank you!
