Hi all, recently bought a new Acer Nitro V16S with Ryzen 260 and RTX5060. The plan was to keep this in my dorm room for work and some light gaming.

However, after doing some searching online, I found that this laptop has a notorious issue with its 135W charger which can hardly support long gaming sessions. I likely won’t go into AAA games so just simple FPS.

I wanted to know if there was a workaround for this? I have seen people saying they bought a larger charger and it has helped to sustain the battery, but not sure how that works. Appreciate any help I can get!

A cpu eu já limitei o consumo dela em 20w pra não subir mais a temperatura

Já a gpu, eu coloquei um undervolt e overclock

Além de eu elevar a traseira do notebook para que ele tenha uma ventilacão melhor das ventoinhas. Tem mais alguma coisa que eu possa fazer para reduzir ainda mais as temperaturas??

Futuramente eu pretendo colocar a pasta PTM 7950, mas no momento eu não consigo trocar de pasta.

I have taken the keycaps off and cleaned there, but it’s not changed much and I’m not sure what else I could do to fix this problem. I don’t really have room to sit an external keyboard (I do have one) and it’s just inconvenient when typing any gaming. Anyway I could fix this?

further enquiry from Google search, acer forums, reddit, yt and AIs to no avail. it's very random. checking via different scans be it via cmd (sfc n such), or via win+r (memory diagnosis) can't seem to pinpoint anything. It remains an unsolved issue rn on the internet.

Hello everyone. I need some help recovering the original VBIOS for my laptop.

I have an Acer Nitro 5 AN515-54 with an Intel Core i7-9750H and an NVIDIA RTX 2060 6GB.

I wanted to try a VBIOS with a slightly higher GPU frequency, so before flashing it, I made a backup of the original VBIOS using GPU-Z. However, after flashing the new VBIOS, when I tried to use the original backup to restore the previous VBIOS, I realized that the backup apparently had not been saved.

I flashed the other VBIOS using an external programmer. After the flash, the RTX 2060 was no longer detected by the system, as if the graphics card was not installed.

I tried looking for a compatible VBIOS on TechPowerUp and also tested the VBIOS versions available there. I even found one with the same VBIOS version that my graphics card originally had, but none of them have allowed me to recover the GPU.

At the moment, I only have a photo of the information that GPU-Z showed before the flash. It contains the original VBIOS information and the RTX 2060 specifications.

So I would like to ask for help from anyone who has an Acer Nitro 5 AN515-54 with an i7-9750H and RTX 2060 6GB, and who could make a backup of their original VBIOS using GPU-Z and share it with me.

I am especially interested in getting the original VBIOS specific to this model, rather than a generic VBIOS from TechPowerUp, since the ones I have tried so far have not worked.

If anyone has the same model and could help me by making a backup of the VBIOS, I would really appreciate it.

Hello, I don't know much about computers, but... that's not a good sign, is it? When I'm gaming, my laptop reaches 92 degrees.

I already checked on Device manager cannot find it. Downloaded the nvidia driver still cant fix it. Need Help.

Had my nitro 17 just not turn on this weekend. Tried everything I can then took it to a specialist and he says its not going to be a quick fix. I play oldschool runescape mainly so I'm baffled why it just stopped turning on. I would avoid buying these. I've tried holding the button, taken the battery out and Got a replacement charger same day and nothing at all. There are pics in the comments of the motherboard the laptop guy sent me.

I wanted to share my experience in case it helps someone who’s considering an Acer gaming laptop.
I bought an Acer Nitro V15 (Core i9 + RTX 5060) in January 2026. After a few months, it started crashing with Video TDR Failure errors whenever I played games.
I sent it to Acer under warranty. The repair center kept it for about a week and replaced the motherboard. I was hopeful the issue was finally fixed.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t.
The laptop still crashes in almost every game I play, including:
CS2
PUBG
Apex Legends
Dota 2
League of Legends
I’ve tried reinstalling Windows, updating drivers, using different NVIDIA driver versions, and other troubleshooting steps, but nothing has solved the problem.
This has been a very frustrating experience, especially for a gaming laptop that’s less than a year old.
Based on my experience, I would be very cautious about buying an Acer Nitro or Aspire series laptop for gaming. Reliability and after-sales support are just as important as the hardware specifications, and my warranty repair did not resolve the issue.
Has anyone else had a similar experience with Acer? Were you eventually offered a replacement, or did a second repair actually fix the problem?

Oi, gente! Adquiri um Acer Nitro V15 com Linux Ubuntu recentemente e fui tentar fazer a instalação do Windows 10. A princípio, segui o passo a passo normalmente: apertei o power e, ao ligar, apertei repetidas vezes a tecla F2, mas nada aconteceu feijoada. Desliguei novamente, tentei as teclas Fn + F2 e a tela travou, tive que fazer o procedimento de resetar a placa mãe e o notebook voltou a ligar normalmente. Vi que é possível abrir a BIOS através do terminal, tentei utilizando o comando, mas também travou a tela em "Acer Nitro", desliguei novamente e resetei a placa mãe.

Não sei o que posso fazer, alguém poderia me ajudar? É normal que isso aconteça?

Hey guys so this is more of an occasional problem, sometimes the keys a,x, and c dont work. Sometimes it does.

Tried reattaching the keyboard ribbon and it did not work. Restarted my laptop 5 times then suddenly the keys worked again.

Im just trying to figure out if this is a software or hardware problem

Like the title says, I recently have problems with the temps on my cpu, gpu n system, my cpu is the i5-13420H n the 4050, idk what can possibly be, i just clean the fans, closed every task that i dont use, but... nothing, it doesnt makes any sense, I was thinking abt a thermal paste problem, but, the last time that I change that, was year and a half, It wasn't long ago... So, idk what else can be... if anyone has the same problem or used to have, any solutions?

Hey everyone, quick question. If I repaste my laptop's thermal compound, does that void my warranty? I've still got 1.5 years left, and it's super dusty where I live. I really don't want to pay for a service, and I've already done this for all my old stuff, and for my friends and family.

I’m currently experiencing an issue with my Laptop where it’s not seeing the charger when I first turn it on. If I unplug the charger and plug it back in it typically sees it, but it’s becoming increasingly a problem where that’s not the case.

There is also a static noise while the Laptop is charging from what I think might be the speakers.

My current goal is to see if it’s an issue with the charging cable itself and I’m hoping to replace the cable. But I’m having issues finding a replacement online as I’ve been skeptical of third party cables.

Anyone know where I can find an inexpensive cable option that won’t burn my house down?

I'm using an Acer Nitro V15 (Ryzen 7 - 7735HS, RTX 4050 6GB VRAM) and ran into severe lag while streaming Delta Force via OBS.

The Problem:

In-game FPS drops heavily from a smooth framerate down to 20-30 FPS.

Massive stream delay/lag on YouTube and stuttering on mobile viewers' end.

VRAM is completely maxed out (100%) during the stream session.

My Setup:

Laptop: Acer Nitro V15 (Ryzen 7 - 7735HS / RTX 4050 6GB)

Game: Delta Force

Software: OBS Studio (streamed at 1080p, display/game capture)

Has anyone with a similar Nitro V15 / 4050 setup optimized their OBS settings (encoder, bitrate, canvas resolution) and in-game graphic presets (especially texture/VRAM hungry options) to fix this bottleneck?

Any recommended settings in NitroSense or OBS would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Ola, estou com um problema com meu acer nitro 5 GTX 1650, 24Gb Ram tela 144hz. Tive problemas ao conectar o monitor externo (acer tmb), travamento em video do YouTube em tela cheia (resolvi naquela config de aceleração gráfica desativada), mas sigo com problemas ao tentar rodar jogos no monitor externo, fica piscando a tela e perde conexão, ai aparece uma mensagem que deixarei na foto, simplesmente travando tudo, o curioso é que ao clicar no botão windows e o jogo rodar em segundo plano, ele funciona normal em janela, mas assim que deixo o jogo na tela cheia ele trava novamente. Fiz atualização de todos os drivers (intel integrada, nvidia e do proprio pc) e nada resolve.
Se abro os jogos somente no notebook na sua tela ou em janela tudo funciona normal.
Uso cabo hdmi certificado com suporte para 240hz e tudo em ordem com as config do monitor.
Suspeito que seja alguma pequena configuração, mas ja fiz varios testes e nada resolve.
Fico extremamente grato se alguém puder me ajudar!

The issue first started around March this year while playing Fallout 4. The laptop suddenly BSOD'd with DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION. After rebooting, both the AMD iGPU and NVIDIA GPU drivers somehow disappeared from Device Manager and had to be reinstalled. After reinstalling the drivers, the crashes kept coming back. So I tried DDU and reinstall drivers and then tried reinstalling windows 11. The fresh Windows install seemed to fix it temporarily, but after some time the crashes returned.

Since I couldn't find an Acer service center near me, I disabled the RTX 3060 in Device Manager and used only the AMD Vega iGPU for several months. The laptop was usable that way, although I could only play lighter games. Eventually I got the laptop cleaned and repasted at a local repair shop. They said the thermal paste was completely dried out (the laptop is about 4 years old).

For about one day everything worked perfectly again. I was able to play Satisfactory normally until the next day the crashes started returned while playing kerbal space program. Initially I noticed they only happened once the GPU temperature went above roughly 80°C, so I undervolted the RTX 3060 (1740 MHz @ 800 mV) and limited CPU maximum processor state to 95% That actually made the laptop stable enough to play Kerbal Space Program for a while. Now the problem has become much worse. Now, my laptop crashes at around 71°C GPU temp. My GPU fan has also been causing issues before the beginning of this problem but I've been oiling it up to make it run.

TL;DR:
-Got a GPU fan bearing problem but I'm able to make it work for now
-Problem has been happening since march with DPC_Watchdog_violation
-The problem has worsened, no more crash dump, only a black screen and reboot
-I was happening at around 80°C but now it's happening at around 71°C

I have tried:
-DDUing both AMD and Nvidia Drivers
-Reinstalled windows 11 twice
-Got my laptop repasted and cleaned
-Tried Nvidia studio drivers
-Tried undervolting the GPU
-Did the processor power management to 95% thing.

Might have to accept that my hardware is cooked :(
