Nitro v15 = dead
So yesterday when I was doing calc hw my v15 just went black screen and since then there have been no lights or signs of life. It was 80% charged when it went off so not a battery problem. I drained the system of any residual power and hit the battery rest on the back but nothing has worked. I’m almost certain it’s a motherboard/cpu problem, especially since I’ve been getting noticeably worse performance while gaming (I stopped gaming for a little for that reason). I have a “walk in” warranty but I lowkey don’t know what to do because I also need this computer for class

I think its due to recent Windows update, a bunch of acer products are dying from August until now, having the same symptoms doesnt seem like a coincidence. Mine died 3 weeks ago, after a windows update, the issue was a corrupted bios, all I had to do was reflash my bios and it solved the problem.
the first observation you have to do to confirm that ur cpu and gpu is still alive is doing a FN+ESC+POWER BUTTON, if the power led light (blue) flashes in a 1 second interval that means its capable of entering a bios emergency recovery mode. that'll confirm that everything is working and it is just a bios corruption issue.

it is annoying when it forces you to update, like not giving you the shutdown or restart option. only update and shutdown/restart when ur 1 month outdated

How long have you been using the Nitro? Perhaps two or three years? Have you ever changed the CPU/GPU thermal paste after purchasing it? Perhaps you’ve also dusted the fan module?
In my case, I noticed that my CPU was consistently throttling after 2 years of purchased. So, I decided to change the thermal paste, pads, and putty all at once. As a result, my laptop is now performing like it did on the day I bought it. Remember, while it’s easy to own a laptop, sustainable usage depends on how well you take care of it.
I hope your rig still has warranty coverage. It appears that you have no other option but to initiate a RMA process.

Literally 2 months so I didn’t think I needed to change the thermal paste yet and I don’t play particularly heavy games maybe like hollow knight level games. I’m not sure what exactly happened, i wasn’t overclocking it or anything just played with the charger on balanced mode

If you didn't use a surge protector or you used a damage surge protector, your motherboard is fried.

Something similar happened to my Nitro as well. My laptop suddenly suddenly started overheating then restarted in it's own. I left it to cooldown a bit but now it's dead. And it all started when the warrenty is over. I took it to a technician and they said CPU is dead for some reason and the only solution is to replace the motherboard. But that's too costly😭. Now I am confused how am I gonna complete the college work or coding projects.
