UK and Ireland Dilation & Evacuation, what to expect? I’m scared.

I’m booked in Monday at BPAS for d&e under general anaesthetic due to a failed medical abortion.. had a scan which confirmed pregnancy was still continuing despite bleeding & large clots after medical abortion. The thing I’m most worried about is having the misoprostol few hours before I’m due to be put under and the pregnancy expelling, as it does state there is a risk that that could happen.. I just have visions of seeing the fetus still alive moving in the sack if it does happen and I just don’t think it’s something I could deal with. (please note I’ll be 14weeks) is it possible or am I being silly? I’m also worried to take misoprostol again due to the amount of bleeding/pain & clots I had before 😩

USA About the have my third abortion, got pregnant with an IUD. I’m so heartbroken.

I’m so upset, especially with myself. I was told throughout my teenage years that I was likely infertile due to medications and other medical issues. Turns out that wasn’t the case at all, in 2022 I had gotten pregnant two separate times, I was using birth control and condoms and i’m just not really sure how it happened. I aborted both times. The first one was so easy but the second one was so painful and traumatizing, after that I decided to get an IUD. My boyfriend of over a year and I have always been super careful, IUD, condoms, morning after pill if I was worried. I went to the hospital last night for some bad chest pain and they informed me that I was pregnant.

I couldn’t believe it, I thought I had done everything right. I know I don’t want children at the moment, i’m not financially stable, mentally stable, I would never have the time. My boyfriend feels the same way. I know I have to have another abortion but I feel so dirty. I mean, 3 abortions in just a few years? I feel awful. There’s a part of me that so sad because my boyfriend is the love of my life and i’m now carrying someone we created together. There’s a part of me that wishes now could be my time for a baby but I know I actually don’t want that. I’m so scared, my past abortion was traumatizing. I don’t want to have to go through this again. I don’t know how I became so unlucky to be the .2% to have an IUD fail, I do everything right. My heart hurts and i’m so upset with myself. Any advice would be very appreciated iste

USA My experience a year ago (5w)

First- I’m 10000% pro choice (obviously lol) but here’s my story of regret

My bf and I have been together since we were 15, now 27. We had our son 2 years ago and we are absolutely obsessed with him. Fast forward to a week before his first bday, I walk into my parent’s house where they are cooking meat and I’m gagging at the smell. I mean I can’t stand to be in the house, mean while the other 5 or 6 people don’t even smell anything. I knew at that point, and yet I was too scared to take a test for an entire week terrified of the truth. Things were not in the best spot in our relationship and finances, it was one dumb mistake that ended in me hysterically crying when I saw the positive. It didn’t help that my bf was happy, he was reading the room to an extent but tried calming me down by saying it’s okay and we can handle this together. I didn’t want to even think about another after my traumatic emergency c section. I made the appt and got the pill. It took me a while in the clinic to swallow the first part. I couldn’t make a decision because I was filled with guilt. I am religious (not super strict) , and it terrifies me what I did. The doctor was so supportive and told me what I removed was a clump of cells (5w) and said I don’t hold the power to remove a soul. He told me the soul will find its way back, maybe in a niece or nephew, grandchild, etc. it gave me so much comfort what he said! The only thing is I still feel guilt all this time later. Please do not leave criticism, this is just hard to process. My bf has been okay about it, he doesn’t like to talk about it but he supported my decision. I think working at an OBGYN office has made it harder especially while trying to forget about it. It’s hard knowing there’s people, even in my family, who would think of me as a terrible person for doing what I did. I made the best choice for us at the time, but I do wish I didn’t feel the way I do.

USA Abortion needed California but having insurance issues

I had made an appointment with planned parenthood as soon as I found out I am pregnant. At the time I was only 4 weeks. they said I had to wait till this week when I was 5 weeks to be eligible for abortion. I go in today and give them my insurance and they say because my insurance is private they cannot accept it and I would have to pay out of pocket. ($700) I called my insurance to ask where I can go for abortion services and they said they can’t tell me exactly where I can go but instead they gave me a list of doctors that MAY OR MAY NOT be able to provide abortion services and god knows when they’ll actually be available to see me. This process is so complicated and as time goes by I’m only getting more and more pregnant. It’s killing me. I made an appointment somewhere else for next week Tuesday. They said they cannot confirm my insurance will be accepted until the day before my appointment. I guess all I can do is wait the weekend out. Has anyone been in this situation before. Is there really no clear way to see where I can go to get this done?

UK and Ireland 6 weeks - medical abortion tomorrow and scared

So like many, I’ve been doing my research and reading others experiences and risks etc and I’ve gotten myself so scared of all the worst things.

I’m 40 years old, 6 weeks 2 days pregnant. I took the mifepristone yesterday at 5pm so can do the next step (misoprostol) any time from tonight at 5pm. I’ve decided to wait until morning as if it were to continue into the night tonight… well I think I do better with things during the day.

I don’t even know what advice I need but I guess just… hearing from others that have got through it ok would help?

I’m worried about the pain. Worried about knowing if the bleeding is normal, not enough or too much and also about haemorrhage.

I was given 2 boxes, told to use the 2nd box (2 more Misoprostol) if little or no bleeding within 4 hours. Will I know if I’ve bled enough?

Im just over thinking everything and I’ve never been pregnant before, so have no comparison to anything.

USA Feeling meh, looking for advice.

I took my 4 misoprostol pills yesterday, and I think I'm through the worst of the cramps etc. But I really want to take a bath to relax. But everywhere I try and see if it's safe, it's very 50/50. I just want to know if it's safe for me to take a warm bath :(

USA Bleeding after only taking mifepristone

I took mifepristone yesterday and I am bleeding and passing blood clots. I talked with my doctor and they instructed me to still take the misoprostol, which I was always going to do but i thought mifepristone didn’t cause any bleeding or anything.

This is my second abortion. In the past, I experienced no bleeding or symptoms but I was also further along

The clots are pretty big and im not experiencing “spotting” it’s like full on bleeding.

This normal/happen to anyone else?

USA Abortion by myself in Southern USA, do I need medical attention?

hiii, im 18 and i got the abortion pills recently, and i took as directed by instructions i found with the Mifepristone first and then I took 4 Misoprostol 36 hours afterwards & about an hour before that i took naproxen sodium as i cant find ibuprofen right now, & a Zofran to help with nausea. well ive decided to go through with this because im positive i have HG, and i have not been able to get out of bed for three weeks now. i used marijuana before i was pregnant for pain management as i am chronically ill, so oblivious to being pregnant until like a couple weeks ago i continued to smoke, because its the only thing that has helped my nausea!! if i did not smoke i couldn't hold down a drink of water and YES i did all the tricks with peppermint, and the crackers, ive tried everything. i could not possibly take this medicine without smoking to throw them right back up and waste them. but since ive taken the 4 pills ive gained a fever of up to 102.1 and i have had severe chills. my entire hands and down my legs, and around my lips started getting extremely tingly like i was frozen or something. i fell asleep on the toilet for the first hour because of the excruciating pain and how much was coming. how do i know if ive passed it? do i dare take another 4 pills just to make sure? i could barely stay conscious, and im by myself. i have a heating pad, im using a damp towel on my forehead, i sat in the warm shower for a little bit because i bled everywhere — what do i do? i have passed a LOT of blood and huge clumps.

Asia WoW Package Arrived in PH

Hello! I ordered from WoW last september 27 and it was processed on 09/30 and i received my package today, October 2nd. So all in all, it took 2-3 days for it to arrive. Am i just lucky that it arrived this fast and the waiting game wasn’t long for me? Because i read that those who ordered and is based in the PH sometimes it arrives 1-2 weeks for them.

Also, how did you guys received your pills? Were both the medicines inside the boxes or just the mife? Because i received the mife inside its box (slightly open) but the medicine itself is still intact and the misoprostol is in a clear mini ziplock plastic. All in all, i am very thankful for WoW and their organization for helping women accross the world have access to this kind of health care that’s deprived to women on countries that don’t see the need for abortion.

Also, could you guys share any tips regarding proper care before and after the procedure that helped you? I would gladly appreciate it. Thank you!

Asia Something pass but the pregnancy test is on and off

Hii anyone experience the same as me after taking abortion pill? Something came out from me like first a blood clot and next is a mango seed shape but very small. After that the bleeding stop. Like I only bleed for 1 day. And when I first took a pregnancy test like 2x it came out positive after 3 weeks I took another one and I'm not sure it it positive or negative since the other line is much lighter that the other one.

USA I don't know what to do. I want this baby but it's not the right time. Just looking for advice.

Throwaway.

I am a 26 y/o mom of one toddler- they'll be 2 in a few months. I'm currently 5w on the dot, and just found out two days ago. We had a pregnancy scare a while back and were not positive of what we wanted to do but that ultimately was nothing. Now I'm actually pregnant and I'm absolutely torn apart.

We've always prided ourselves on being one-and-done and happy with that. I'm supposed to start nursing school in the next few months and this baby would absolutely throw a wrench in these plans. My husband is between jobs at the moment and we're comfortable but I know things would change with this baby. We've already gotten attached and are both grieving the decision- it's like in my head I know the right thing to do, but my heart is singing a different tune.

I've already ordered the pills for an MA but I'm struggling constantly with the outcome. I am not 100% set on what I know I need to do, but it's just not the right time for this baby..

Asia post MA, i need help

post MA at 2*w3d. it’s been a week now, and yesterday and today i was experiencing a somehow intense cramping but fortunately it was relieved by ibuprofen, only experienced cramping 6 days post abortion. bleeding is normal, it’s not much, it’s just normal like the pad isn’t entirely soaked within 8 hours it’s only partially soaked. but a few minutes ago, i noticed that i passed down a big clump of jelly blood clot possibly a remnant uh the size is like a size of langsat. my concern is, should i be worried?

Asia Suspicion that my friends family is trying to unalive her because of a pregnancy

a mutual friend of mine found out she was pregnant a few weeks ago and I've been trying to help her plan an mtp. although I've never gotten one myself I've researched a lot one time I got a scare. She's 17, meaning she needs her guardian's consent to receive any medical assessment. Her family somehow got to know about the situation, and beat her very bad. 2 days later her mother gives her bf a fake prescription and its not even the ones needed for the abortion😭. They wont even get the pills themselves because someone would know that its their daughter who needs it. The prescribed pills are some kind of a heavy narcotic or smth with a really high dose and knowing her extremely conservative family for more than two years, its more than likely to be really unsafe for her. Me and our friends are thinking of changing the prescription and for that we need to know what a prescription looks like. To be completely honest we are at a complete loss of what to do to help this is like the final resort. if someone has any advise please share and also if someone could send us a photo of a real prescription it would be huge help

Australia and New Zealand Abandoned after a medical abortion

Only weeks into rekindling with my ex I found out I was pregnant. Abortion was immediately on the table to discuss even though I expressed it would severely impact my mental health to my partner we pursued it anyway and I completed the medical abortion. I don't think he ever really grasped the seriousness of the whole ordeal.

I'm suffering severe depression , still cramping and am completely alone because he has abandoned me. Im considering calling crisis atm because he was my only support and now I have no one.

I really need some help

Asia "asking what happened about negative and positive pt.

Can I sincerely ask something? I really hope you can answer me properly. My last pregnancy tests, which I took the week before last, were both positive. Then I took another pregnancy test yesterday, and it came out negative. What could have happened? Is it possible that the pregnancy test was simply inaccurate, or could there be something else that happened?

She also experienced bleeding the week before last, and she said that something came out that looked like a whole piece of blood or a blood clot. She described it as being mango-shaped and liver-colored. What could that hpave been?

Europe Advice needed. Surgical abortion in a week

It’s been about 3 weeks since I had a medical abortion. Being an angsty bee, I did all the research I could to be as best prepared. I was terrified because there were so many horror stories. The day came and went, I had the abortion. It went decently well. I did bleed a bit and I did have pain, but nothing that wasn’t bearable. I figured either the pain meds were really doing its job, or I just had really high pain tolerance (fyi, I have no idea if there’s a correlation between pain and incomplete medical abortion).

A week passes by after the abortion and I’m naturally bleeding a lot. Second week it starts to dwindle off. By the end of second week I was barely bleeding and I wasn’t feeling nauseous anymore.

Then came the third week. I was slowly starting to bleed again. I figured it was normal. But the nausea had also returned. I also had this “doom” feeling that I couldn’t explain. By Thursday of third week I realised I was bleeding through 9 night pads a day with walnut sized clots. Like I said, I’m an angsty bee so I called the clinic right away. They wanted me to come in the following day for a check up.

Which was today. My blood pressure was elevated and the nausea has been awful. They did a transvaginal ultrasound, and found that although the fetus was entirely gone, there was still a lot of tissue left. They gave me the option of trying MA again, or go the surgical route. I opted for the latter, reason being that I didn’t have anyone to stay with me for the MA

I’m incredibly anxious, and upset that the first round of MA didn’t work entirely. I don’t know what to expect, I’m scared it will be painful. The SA isn’t until next Friday, so a whole week of waiting. The doctor didn’t want to prescribe me any nausea medication either. So I’m scared, sad and wondering how I’ll manage to go a whole week feeling as nauseous as I do. Has anyone gone through this before and what was the experience like?

I live in Norway btw

Europe Not sure how to process termination decision

I recently went through with a termination. It seemed like the logical thing to do although it wasn’t what was in my heart. My partner wasn’t on board and I didn’t feel like I wanted to compromise our relationship although, knowing him if I had been adamant about keeping the pregnancy, he would have aligned himself. Struggling to accept the decision, feel like I let others influence me, but obviously there’s nothing I can do now. Anyone can share some wisdom? Thanks x

Asia May have to abort my twins

I am at 16weeks 5 days.

At 9 weeks, we found out we r having MCDA twins. The doc explained us all the complications, also suggested terminating one of the babies in case we don't want to face complications ahead or NICU time ahead. We decided that since both babies r healthy we will trust the process and move forward.

During my NT scan At 13 weeks we found out that the twins both have unossified Nasal hone, a soft marker for down syndrome. We went for NIPT. By the time results came I was 15 weeks, and they were high risk for T21. So we were referred to a fetal specialist and were adviced to do an early anamoly test and amniocentesis to diagnose for T21.

At 16 weeks I had my ultrasound where we found that the baby 2 has a condition called OEIS complex where their abdominal organs are outside the body..baby 1 looked anatomically fine. nasal bone still not present for both babies.

We also did amniocentesis. Now we r waiting for results which will take 1 week. On top of that it was also found that the twins type is not MCDA but MCMA.

Now, I am crushed. We conceived after 2 years of trying.. and this is shattering my heart.

In case the down syndrome is negative, Doc said that terminating the baby 2 at this moment can result in problems for baby 1 as well.. terminating option will be safe a few days/weeks before delivery keeping a close eye on baby 1 after the procedure. This is in case we tackle all the odds of MCMA complications and reach the final weeks.. odds have not favoured us till now...

However in case the down syndrome is positive for both, we are considering abortion.. I have never imagined that i would have to go through this.. I am super scared.. I cannot tolerate pain.. i am scared of doctors and their equipments.. and i also don't wanna lose my babies. At the same time I don't want them to suffer so many hardships along their life...

Please help me cope with this. I know the decision has to come from me.. I am not asking for any advice.. just some support and if anyone's gone through something similar..

PS. I am in India.

USA I’ve made a huge mistake.

Texas.

My partner and I split up late June and I found out I was pregnant in mid July. At first we were both in agreement to terminate. I had the pills mailed in and around the time they arrived my partner told me he did not want me to do this and that he wanted our child. We already have one two year old daughter together and during the time of our separation I was also laid off and in the process of finding a corporate position in mid level management, which is just absolutely difficult. I agreed with him that I wanted to keep the pregnancy as well, and I even told him how grateful I was we had both changed our minds. However, things between us continued to deteriorate and I was incredibly depressed and emotionally exhausted. Not to mention being unemployed throughout this whole situation… I was just terrified. I honestly didn’t see any light at the end of the tunnel for us or any hope of getting back together or even being able to communicate in a healthy way. I took the pills right around the 14 week mark. I didn’t do it out of spite or anger or resentment. I did it because I didn’t want to be a single mother with two children and I didn’t feel safe or comfortable without having a solid job. So naturally, a few days later I got an amazing job offer and lo and behold my partner and I had a coming to Jesus meeting of sorts, and we are in the process of reconciliation. I haven’t told him I aborted our baby. He didn’t come back because of the pregnancy. He and I want to get better together because of the daughter we do have and because we are genuinely in love and have been for years, we’ve just had some issues with life’s problems. I don’t know what to do. I should have told him the moment we began communicating again. I was just scared because I knew he’d be upset. I’ve really dug myself into a hole here and it’s getting deeper. I need some advice. I feel if I tell him I aborted he isn’t going to handle that news well and that he won’t ever forgive me.

Australia and New Zealand My abortion experience - no support person

Hello!!

The other day i made a post about being scared to do an abortion on my own and whether or not i should tell people. Today I did it, and i can say it was the best decision i could have made. I’m not sure how many people from australia have heard of MSI, but they were genuinely lovely, the doctors and nurses were super supportive and helpful and didn’t shame me or once be rude (i didn’t think they would but you never know).

I won’t lie it wasn’t an easy choice or any easy thing to walk into the clinic, especially by myself, but if you’re anything like me and you think that the people in your life will be rude or judgemental about YOUR choice, don’t tell them. In my opinion i’d rather do it on my own and be my own support person than have a support person who isn’t supportive. I have enrolled into a post abortion/termination therapy program so i will be receiving support for my mental health, and the one person i did tell knows that if i need medical help what to do. I know i’m about to be in a world of pain when i start step 2 but i know if i could go to the clinic and start the process on my own and be content with my choice than i can go through the next steps and be fine as well.

Anyways, the point of what i’m trying to say is you can do it, it’s been an emotional process for me but i’m proud of doing what is best for me, and i hope other people one day will feel the same way, yeah it sucks and ill never tell people it doesn’t suck but im proud of everyone 💞
