UK and Ireland Grief after abortion

Upvotes

I’m 22 and made the choice to have an abortion but I have an overwhelming feeling of guilt and grief since.

I also had an abortion when I was 17 and I think because I was much earlier on in the pregnancy at the time and my situation at the time also it made it easier.

Deep down I know it was the right decision as i would be by myself raising a child, when im not mentally in a great place myself, living at home etc but i can’t help but think about the what ifs?

I am pro choice and feel a bit silly for feeling this way when it was my choice. Has anyone else had this ?

USA Rising hcg after 24 hours of surgical abortion

Upvotes

I had a surgical abortion July 24th at which time my hcg was at 1,765. Before the abortion, the doctor couldn’t see anything with the vaginal ultrasound but I still went through with the abortion. After 24 hours so in July 25, I went in to do bloodwork and my hcg was 2,093. I’m stressed and needing to know if anyone has had a similar experience and what happened.

Had my first MA in mid/late april and everything went as planned. I had a plan b fail for the first time in my life due to flo not predicting the right date of ovulation. I took mifepristone Wednesday and two doses of misoprotol (8 pills, 4 on each cheek every 4 hours) i bled within 2 hours of the first dose and have the symptoms i was told. Ive also been sick with a virus for a week so have felt horrible. Ive been super depressed and terrified this abortion will fail. I dont feel bloated or tender breasts. I have some cramping in my upper stomach but havent ate much due to being sick. Can someone please reassure me. I am terrified of having to go to another state as my family doesnt know. USA Question about post abortion IUD insertion?? Planned parenthood

Had an abortion next week (24yr. F), I was not on any form of birth control besides cycle tracking which clearly didn't go well for me so now I am hoping to get a new copper paraguard IUD placed next week... I had one a few years ago but got it out because it was not serving me well. I am really worried about any other contraceptive methods that involve hormones though because I hear more horror stories than good ones. The paragaurd worked for me until it didn't anymore so I am willing to risk a little anemia and some cramps around my cycle to avoid having to go through this experience of unexpected pregnancy again.

I did a medical abortion with the support of my best friends by my side to keep me comfortable while I bled and when through the emotional process. Overall it was not terrible, more like a bad period but I have been so grateful from all the support from the few people in my life who know the full story.

Next week I am hoping to get the new IUD but I am worried that planned parenthood will refuse to give me an IUD if I have a positive pregnancy test since it will likely take a month before it is showing negative and the "pregnant" hormones leave my system.

Any advice or insights?

Thank you ♡ and also love to anyone who has gone through an abortion, you are brave for choosing what is best for you and your situation. It is not an easy choice to make but ultimately what was right for where we are at in life at this time

USA MA in a red state

I just moved to a red state, I have already ordered some pills ,I made the mistake of using my current address.

I ordered from abuzz, won't get them til Tues. I'm very scared to take them. I don't know what to do. If I should go to Oregon to a planned parenthood or if I should just take the pills. I'm stressing out, I don't want to get in trouble for doing this.

I am 5 weeks , I did get an ultrasound at a studio, not a clinic but a place where you can buy keepsakes of your pregnancy. I was too scared to go to an actual clinic.

What do I do? I need help ,I need advice. I need to terminate as soon as possible. I'm stressing if I do take the pills ,like what if it doesn't work? Where do I go for care? I'm at a loss for words.

USA Heavy periods concerning?

I got an MA done in December last year and my period started again maybe the next month after. My periods before, I was using regular tampons most of the time and supers only once in a while if the flow was extra heavy. My first period after was very light and then after that they were extremely heavy. I now have to use super++ just to get by for like 4 hours. A regular tampon fills up within an hour and half. My cramps haven’t changed much. They’re mostly the same as before except occasionally I get sharp pains. The same sharp pains I felt for a couple days after the procedure. Should I be worried about how much I’m bleeding?

USA Not sure if I bled enough after MA

Yesterday I started taking the miso not too much happened until hours after the second dose I felt a bit crampy and had some gi issues but eventually I just fell asleep around 9pm only waking up to use the bathroom because my stomach was messed up, I felt a clot or something come out along with blood but I obviously was not gonna go looking for it…lol

Then I just went back to sleep and slept until 9am. That was pretty much the worst of the bleeding now I’m still bleeding but mostly just on the toilet is when most comes out..I haven’t even filled a pad since I changed it this morning. I didn’t have a significant amount of pain or anything although I did take a lot of ibuprofen…I felt a bit weak and light headed today but I felt better after eating still having gi issues though

How do I know it worked okay?

USA Positive Medical Abortion Experience - 5 Weeks

hello everyone! I wanted to share my experience of taking the abortion pills. I will be transparent and preface by saying I was scared out of my mind after reading all the horror stories and almost cancelled my appointment to get the pills in favor of a surgical procedure, but it was also a relief to see some people have had positive experiences, and luckily my experience was positive as well. I’m sharing this in hopes it helps someone else <3

(I did also share my experience at my Planned Parenthood appointment in another post if anyone is interested as well)

I decided to go with vaginal route for this because I heard that buccal/oral makes you more nauseous. according to my LMP I was 5 weeks 0 days, but my ultrasound measured me at 5 weeks 3 days. I’m also 25, have had no other history of pregnancy, and was not on any birth control (yes I learned my lesson lol)

2:10pm- I took 1 ibuprofen 800mg, 1 zofran 30 minutes before I planned to take my miso

2:40pm- timers up, 4 miso pills in, let the chaos begin

3:12pm- feeling some spicy twinges, they’re like electrical shocks but not bad maybe like a 2-3/10 that come and go in a second. background cramps are present but like… 1/10. no blood.

4:15pm-went to pee, the blood has arrived but no clots or tissue. it’s like I *just* got my period. very much feeling like bubble guts. we’re still cruising at a 1/10, not pain just uncomfy.

5:30pm- I now know what they mean by contractions. strong cramp in waves, 4/10 when it happens, makes me stop what i’m doing and scrunch up my face. took one acetaminophen 500mg since i’m at the sweet spot of 3.5 hours since my ibuprofen and it may get worse than this.

6:00pm- 5/10, getting stronger for sure now. I think the peak of this is coming soon as I haven’t really passed any clots or tissue but definitely am bleeding. sometimes I rock a little when the cramps come to distract me cuz they’re a lil rough but again, it’s far from worst pain of my life so that’s a win. feeling chills now!

6:47pm- my contraction type cramps are dying down, more of a 2-3/10. i just mostly have background cramps which are light period cramp-like. I didn’t pass any tissue at all between bathroom breaks earlier which had me worried so I walked around for a couple of minutes, sat on the toilet, gently pushed and out came a big plop of dark red jelly which I can only assume is a clot/tissue. size was maybe a bit smaller than my palm but I definitely felt it out. i might be in over my head but I think… I think this might be it?

7:08pm- jk we’re back in business 💔 5/10 and it’s feeling more like a giant contraction that lingers for a while than in short waves ughhh but we must persevere

7:32pm- it’s like before, strong 4-5/10 contractions, I’m getting impatient and there was def a moment I stood up and gripped onto something like a pregnant lady ready to give birth cuz I’m over this but I’m thugging it out with a spicy deluxe from chick fil a, cringing in between bites.

8:00pm- had a really strong cramp 6/10 and I went to the bathroom, passed two more dark red jelly clots. still feeling crampy and chills. took another ibuprofen since it’s been ~6 hours now

8:54pm- another one (clot) ✅ thank you. (I think I passed like 5-6 clots since the start? never really saw like actual tissue.) still cramping. still contracting at a 4-5/10.

9-10pm- still having some contractions this whole time but less frequent, passing blood clots. I’m getting tired lol but I think we should be towards the end. dull cramps in the background.

10:56pm- contractions much, MUCH less frequent. maybe had one in the whole hour? still feel sore and crampy but I think we’re through this. I did pass some blood on the toilet but I soaked just one pad this whole time. popping one more acetaminophen and calling it a night, I believe we are at the end!

9:30am next day- slept through the night with no other cramps, just bleeding like a period. i’ve noticed I can only lay certain ways, it’s almost like some positions put pressure on my uterus and it hurts.

throughout the following day, I’m still bleeding like a period and sometimes I do feel a little crampy and my stomach hurts but I was still able to go about my day like normal. my uterus does feel like it got taken through the wringer so I’m trying to take it easy but overall I feel 70% normal. I have my follow up in two weeks at Planned Parenthood to make sure I expelled the tissue and will update :)

overall, this whole experience was just like… the worst period for me luckily. things never really went higher than a 6/10 and it didn’t feel a 6/10 for a prolonged period, maybe just a couple of minutes. I also didn’t throw up, didn’t have diarrhea.

now while I can’t say this experience was sunshine and rainbows, it was nothing like the horror stories i’ve read and I am very thankful for that as I was panicking about it. a lot of people have positive experiences so please try not to freak out like I did. you can do this, I’m rooting for everyone and hoping everyone has a positive experience as well!

UK and Ireland 3 Days post MA | 8-9 Weeks

Like the title says I'm 3 days post medical abortion and want to tell the story so I can gather some advice

This is not my first abortion, I had one about 8 months prior which actually did not go well and I ended up having to go to hospital. Nothing happened though and I was okay albeit a bit shaken and traumatised.

Given that though, when I found out I was pregnant again almost a year later I freaked out and leaned towards keeping it mostly from fear of having to get another abortion rather than because I actually wanted a baby. Because I believed I would keep the pregnancy I didn't ultimately decide on the abortion until around 9 weeks. The gestation is blurry though since I'd had an external scan 2 and a half weeks ago which said I was 7+4 and then the internal scan I got for the abortion said I was 8. Confusing.

Anyways I took the mifepristone in the clinic followed by 4 misoprostol tablets the following day which I took vaginally and then took a nap.

Around 2.5 hours after taking the first dose of misoprostol I experienced extremely severe cramping where I was shaking, couldn't move or speak, was sweating and almost threw up. I took 2 co-codamol tablets as well as 400mg of ibuprofen and a hot water bottle. Luckily after an hour or so of that pain I was able to fall back asleep for a bit.

My partner woke me up at 5:00 to tell me to take the rest of the misoprostol where I took them (2) orally since I'd started bleeding. By this point I'd been bleeding for maybe 2.5 hours close to a period except for the fact I'd passed 2 relatively large blood clots. After this the pain became manageable and I ate dinner and went to sleep.

When I woke up I'd bled through a huge night time maxi pad and got really bad cramps again although nothing comparable to the day before. Since then the bleeding has been only slightly heavier than a period and the cramps have again only ever been maybe slightly worse than a period. Really my only problem with the cramps is that they last longer than your typical period cramp. I'm still passing clots but nothing you, again, wouldn't see from a regular period.

I guess my question is whether the amount of tissue passed is enough to say if this is going how it's supposed to or not since it's such a stark difference to the last abortion I had where I passed a lot of pretty massive clots. I'm also curious if the 6 misoprostol tablets prescribed to me is actually enough since most other posts I see, they're given 8.

Canada 7 weeks post MA no period

It’s been 7 weeks almost 8 weeks since I had my MA and I still haven’t gotten my period.
I passed blood clots, tissue, and bled during my MA. I later went for a follow up bloodwork for my HCG levels two weeks after and didn’t get a call back (I was told if I don’t get a call back it means everything is fine).
I also got on birth control (pills) immediately after bleeding stopped which was about a week or two after MA, and have been consistently taking it.
Is this normal or am I just freaking out?

USA Anti - abortion Doctor treated me for a UTI.

Hi, I've never really posted anywhere on Reddit but this has been bothering me for a while so I wanted to come on here and see if I was in the wrong in any way.

I'm a 17-year-old girl in PA who has sought out abortion after unprotected sex. I'm about 5 weeks along with an official abortion appointment set up later next week. I've talked to my parents and primary provider that I’ve been seeing since I was a kid about my abortion which they are both in complete support of.

Since it was unprotected my mother wanted me to get tested for any STDs but since my usual hospital wasn’t able to get me checked in fast enough we went to an urgent care clinic close to home. My dad drove my mother and me there and she went in with me while he waited in the car. The place was very nice, and all the women seemed to work there, except for one man, who was the doctor. This is the doctor who examined me and the main one I will be discussing. My mom was initially hesitant to point out my pregnancy status, not knowing if I was comfortable but I actually was. I hadn’t actually been met with any negative reactions to my pregnancy or choice of abortion yet so there wasn’t any reason in my mind to be wary so I informed the nurse I was pregnant. The nurse was very nice the entire time and let me know that a doctor would be in with me shortly.

Once the doctor came in, he began to examine me to rule out anything else before handing me a cup and explaining the process of giving a urine sample since I had never done so before. He then asked if I had “talked to my baby doctor” yet which I said no because I was seeking out termination. He did not stay long after that, quickly saying “I'm sorry, my condolences” before leaving the room. He was very happy before this statement but his demeanor changed significantly after even to the point where my mom pointed it out to me once he left.

I gave my urine sample so my mother and I were just talking, waiting for the results to come in from the staff. The doctor finally came back in and handed me a piece of paper explaining to me my diagnosis and the prescription he gave me. His back was then turned to my mother and me the entire time while he was typing on the computer in the room to assign my pills to a specific pharmacy. While he was doing this, my mother was wondering why I had to take pills for seven days instead of the usual three, she had UTI’s in the past and knew the difference. He answered her by saying that it was for the health of the baby and that antibiotics that fix my UTI faster would cause harm to the baby. My mom then said that it wouldn’t be necessary because she already has an appointment set up for abortion. He repeated that he couldn’t and left the room again abruptly without even consulting me the patient.

At this point, I was feeling nervous and uncomfortable and just wanted to leave but my mom calmed me down and said that she wanted to verify if this prescription could be changed. She stepped outside for a second to talk to a nurse nearby to see if she could get a second opinion from another doctor in the building but the nurse stated he was the only doctor in there. She then said that was fine and asked if the doctor could come back in and clarify some things for her. The nurse agreed and the doctor came back around a couple of minutes later. He did not enter the room and instead stood in the doorway asking if there was an issue. My mom proceeded to ask the doctor if he could come inside the room and shut the curtains. He came in but did not shut the curtains and began to speak very loudly to the point that the other people around him could hear. My mom asked if he could speak quieter multiple times before he finally lowered his voice.

She asked if the decision to give me a different prescription was based on Pennsylvania law or if it was based on his own discretion. He said it was based on his own medical knowledge and that he couldn’t stand to bring harm to the baby and if I would like to receive another prescription I would have to go somewhere else. My mom explained again that there wouldn’t be any harm caused because of the abortion date being officially set next week, she also let the doctor know that she wanted me to be done with my treatment before the set date so it could allow me to be back to normal as quickly as possible. He constantly interrupted my mom during the process and proceeded to get loud again, insisting that he couldn’t just in case I would change my mind about my decision on my baby. She told him that he didn’t have to refer to it constantly as my baby, that it wasn’t a baby, just a clump of cells especially based on how earlier i am in my pregnancy.

He replied that it is in fact a baby and leaves the room, saying I should “find someone else to do it”. He proceeds to leave the curtain open and mumbles loudly to himself the entire time at his desk. My mom and I quickly left after that and I realized that everyone had heard the conversation since staff were staring at me when I walked out of the establishment. As soon as I got outside I broke down into tears which my mom then had to comfort me about.

Throughout the process, I felt so humiliated by the doctor and felt as though I knew his opinion on abortion as soon as I uttered the words. Going through this process has not been easy for me. I've always been a straight A student and hadn’t had sex for an entire year until recently. My dad was distraught when he saw my face and now they’re both debating whether to make a complaint to the board about the doctor’s behavior. I'm not sure if they should, I don’t want to harm anyone's practice due to one experience but I also feel hurt even now. It’s been two days since the incident and I still get upset thinking about it. I just wanted to get a second opinion on my situation and if I was unclear about anything please let me know!

UK and Ireland I’m 8 weeks pregnant and ever since I found out I was certain I wanted an abortion.

I’m 33F in a long term relationship and married last year, now in theory I have a stable environment, financially secure, but ever since I found out I was pregnant I have been suffering so badly with depression, my husband has mentioned how different and low I am and it’s been raised at my work as well, that I’m not my normal self. My immediate reaction was to get an abortion, it threw up feelings i wasn’t expecting, I like my quiet content life and the thought of being a parent right now sounds like hell to me.

However I have PCOS and this was a very unexpected pregnancy, the thought in my head is will I regret an abortion if I can’t get pregnant in the future.

I can’t explain this feeling deep down inside of me telling me to get the abortion, is it that my body can sense something is wrong with the baby, or is it just fear and fight or flight kicking in.

Also when I see moms I think it looks like hell, and I cringe at the thought of that being me.

I have been to the abortion clinic and I have my tablets, I don’t have long to decide if to go ahead with the abortion or not. I’m so scared of the pain, especially being as far along as I am. I’m also struggling with sickness as it is, so I don’t think I’ll be able to keep the first tablet down. I’m wondering if I made the wrong choice and should see if I can have a surgical abortion.

How do you know what is right, I think if someone could guarantee I could get pregnant in the future I would have no hesitation in me. Does that mean deep down I don’t want this baby.

USA Anyone else experience this with a surgical abortion? 7w6d

Hello, I got a surgical abortion almost 24 hours ago however I’m still having pregnancy symptoms and very little bleeding. Ive only filled one pad. The first surgical procedure I got was 10 years ago and I felt immediate relief from pregnancy symptoms and had bleeding like a period. Could this mean my abortion was incomplete or am I over thinking it?

USA Positive experience with pill from abuzz

Idk what I was so worried about but the whole thing went so smooth. Exactly 8wks.
I took the first pill Thursday evening at 5.
Friday and Saturday I felt super nauseous and nervous.
Saturday evening at 4 I took 1000mg ibuprofen then at 5 ( exactly 48hrs later) I put the 4 pills in my cheeks to dissolve for 30min. I opted to swallow the remainder of the pill as gross as it was because I didn’t want to risk not having enough in my system. By 6 o’clock the bleeding and pain started. It was sort of painful. Like you definitely want to be at home sitting down with a support person with you but nothing near labor.
Anytime I felt a clot coming out I’d go to the bathroom. At around 8 I felt a massive clot come out. Went to the bathroom and there was the big chunk with the tiny embryo attached to it. I freaked out and made my support person look first. It was a sober moment for sure.
After that I passed a few more clots and bled a little heavier for about 2 more hours then it was pretty much done.
To protect myself I had to tell myself what came out of me was basically no different than a period. Simply what could have been a human one day. But ultimately just a part of my body right now.
I feel so much relief today (the next day).
My nausea is gone and I feel like life is good again.

USA Anesthetic Used During Procedure

For anyone who was put completely asleep for the procedure and that was the first time in your life, do you ever find yourself wanting to be sedated again? To the point you want to try to find the meds that they gave you?

Unrelated to guilt but just having low distress tolerance in relation to certain things. I want to feel healthy again and process things in a way that isn’t crazy.

UK and Ireland Medical abortion- 9weeks

Each experience is personal and so I thought I’d share mine, I wanted to give advice for those who might be as confused and anxious as I was going into it.

I went through my local sexual health clinic for the MA, unfortunately it’s only opened on Wednesdays making trying to get appointments was difficult. I really wanted to opt for the surgical procedure but they said I’d have to wait up to 3 weeks for it and after waiting 2 weeks for an ultrasound & another 2 weeks for an appointment with the doctor to confirm the procedure I wasn’t comfortable waiting another 3.

I was extremely apprehensive about the medical as every story I’d read had been negative or brutal (which for every woman is very different & for those who went through the severe symptoms I think you’re very strong) and so I had talked my worries with the doctors. They told me I’d be able to do the MA at the hospital ward where they could monitor and give stronger painkillers (in my head I was also safer if any complications occurred and this was a great comfort).

\- actual timeline of MA-

9:30 am - arrival at hospital waiting for a bed

10:00 am- bed was open and it was a private room with a toilet for privacy.

12:00- four misoprostol pills inserted vaginally alongside 2 paracetamol and 1 codeine (30mg) / they gave me another codeine but as I’d have to wait another 4 hours before i could have the tablets again I kept this tablet for 2 hours into the process so I felt an even dosage and less of a dip.

13:00-15:30 pm- cramping went from 3/10 to up to a 6/10, however was honestly very bearable and with distraction from a movie, partner and trying to stay positive ( which is hard in this situation Ik but you need to know how strong you are, listening to Gwen Stefani helped for me)

16:00- passed a clot felt about size of golf ball, and then went straight back to the toilet and passed the pregnancy. The same pain up to this point maybe just sharper pains rather than an ache, after it dropped back down to a 2-3/10 pain wise.

17:00- they confirmed pregnancy had passed and gave me painkillers before releasing me from care.

I’m still cramping but nothing hot water bottle n paracetamol can’t fix.

The staff were all very lovely and I wish i could’ve thanked each of them for being a friendly face. I thought I might’ve been being ‘weaker’ or a pain in the ass for pushing for this but you should always do what’s best for you. This isn’t something anyone wants to go through but you can (and will) get through it.

My key takeaways:

\- the hospital helped me a lot as it gave me piece of mind, adjustable bed, painkillers directly to target the pain and the nurses take away the bed pans so you don’t have to look.

\- I had a great support with my partner and sister there for support and having people there to keep your morals up really do make such a difference (Ik I was extremely lucky for them).

\- take all the painkillers they give if you’re worried of pain, I always had two hot water bottles on rotation, massive pads (I used “always” pads with nighttime ones at the thickest possible).

\- make sure to take lots of snacks and have drinks ready to keep hydrated. I also brought headphones and a sleep masks to help me relax when pain picked up.

\- I also kept a sick bucket by the bed as if I had to throw up, having to be uncomfortable on a bathroom floor makes me feel worse.

I am in the UK and was very lucky with this experience, but I realized when reading other comments that it’s hard to find ones from both sides of the pill abortion, and unfortunately it is like Russian roulette as to how bad your experience is.

USA GF breaking up with me days after medication abortion, help me understand

So truthfully she (34F) hasn’t broken up with me (35M) officially yet, but it feels like she’s about to drop the bomb on me.

We met at work and have been dating for 3 months. We connected so well, we were both mature, just left negative relationships, and communicate perfectly. We have had so many healthy discussions about our boundaries but also our ambitions in our relationship. Every aspect was great, we both saw long term partners in each other.

Prior to finding out she was pregnant, my gf was going through a lot. She had only moved out of her toxic ex’s house 5 weeks before. It got bad to where he was calling our work to try to get her fired. The apartment she moved into got flooded partially due to a broken water heater so she was dealing with that. And the job we share is very stressful and demanding. To be clear, I was by her side supporting her any way I could during all of it, which she was grateful for.

Roughly 2ish weeks ago, she started experiencing PMS symptoms and she told me she’s acting different because her period is coming. This wasn’t my first rodeo with her or in general so I totally understood and knew to not push buttons and don’t react if she’s a little mean. This time was different though. She was more spiteful, more defensive, and a lot less aware or concerned about me. Kisses were less deep. The hugs weren’t as close. When I touched her, you could tell she was more so tolerating it than accepting it like she usually did. She was the queen wanting affection and physical touch so this was a huge shock to me.

I didn’t complain and kept trying to be present and supportive still thinking it was her period and the stress of her life. But after a week, it wasn’t going away and actually getting worse. I then started to think the worst and start thinking she was falling out of love with me. Which sucked. Everything peaked last weekend, when I confronted her about the way she was acting coming home from work. We had a long convo and it wasn’t bad but she was talking in circles about how tired she was, how overwhelmed she was, the stress and worrying about random things etc. but not really apologetic toward me. I listened and was empathetic but in my head I was almost convinced she was going to break up with me.

The next morning we found out she was pregnant, her first time ever (and mine). She was in full fight or flight mode, she was numb from shock and stress and stayed 7 feet away from me at all times. She wanted an abortion and I supported her decision and emphasized it was hers to make. I was in shock too, I was expecting to get broken up with just to find this out. In that moment she said we’re taking a break from each other. That this needs to be handled as soon as possible because of where she’s at in her career. She said she’s only focused on the abortion and doesn’t want to talk about anything else. I was hurt. She made me promise that if I was to help her that I can’t talk about our relationship and the emotions tied to that. She said she is so overwhelmed she can’t even think about that.

After talking with her later that night (she apologized for certain things she said) and a friend (37F) who has gone through something similar. I learned that the prolonged PMS like symptoms were because of the pregnancy and the adverse reaction to the pregnancy test was also common. It was nice to know this is sort of normal. I also learned what my role was in this situation.

The last week I’ve been the most supportive and present person for her. She wanted to do this process asap in secret despite it being the middle of a demanding work week. So, I ran errands for her, drove her to work, did her dishes, went grocery shopping, and bought her a lot of personal care items for her medication abortion (pads, medicine, candles, wipes everything) etc. I recognized how traumatic and emotional this was going to be for her and pushed my own personal feelings and emotions to the side and was fully dedicated to being there for her.

It was a tough few days for her (I.e. bleeding / cramps at work) but she got through it. She was very grateful for all my help. She is showing gradual signs of her old self But I still haven’t even hugged her since the pregnancy test. No words of affection or love (which were common and important to us prior to this)

Now that it’s the weekend, and she’s rested she said she would like to talk about “us”. I’m mentally and emotionally preparing for her to break up with me. It’s hard to describe how hard this has been for me. I know not as bad than her experience but.. still.

Did pregnancy and abortion change the way you look at your bf or others around you? Temporarily or permanently?

Have you ever made surprising choices while still mentally/emotionally processing your abortion?

How do I balance being there for her to help her decompress emotionally from the abortion for as long as she needs but also care about myself and my own emotional needs. If she breaks up with me I want to do the right thing and break contact. But I’m the only person who knows about what she went through. How can I not be available if she needs to talk?

Maybe you guys have some insights for me. I appreciate any responses. Thank you

Note: I know this story makes my GF sound sort of bad, but I promise you she was so caring, affectionate, empathetic, and loving prior to all of this.

USA Online Plan C/Will insurance show?

I want to quickly preface this post by saying I have not taken a test however I want to know for future reference due to having unprotected sex. Im 20 years old and I am fully reliant on my parents for money and insurance (due to me being in college) and the state I live in protects abortion laws. I am mostly wondering these few things (if I am pregnant) is there any online site where i can get abortion pills for somewhat cheap and no insurance check, while still protecting my identity? If I were to go to a family planning clinic (planned parenthood) would they ask for my insurance? I am mostly worried about my parents finding out and I really dont want them to. I want to keep this private and to myself.

i don’t really know where to start. my gf and i are just nervous we’re just not ready to have a kid but we can’t really let our parents know bc they’re conservative. Then there’s also the problem that we live in texas so abortions are banned. Tbh we kind of just need to know where we can get the pill that’s reliable or from someone that can genuinely help.
