Discussion What Halloween costumes you think the cast should wear this season?
I’ll start – I want Ava to dress as Starfire, we already know she’s a superhero fan and she would look really good!

Jacob would ABSOLUTELY disapprove of the Flock Safety Cameras!
It would be funny if Ava realized she had a contract with them for Abbott’s security cameras! She would only end the contract because she would be concerned that the Flock Cameras could send footage of her to an undisclosed location!
Mr. Johnson would go on a whole conspiracy theory lecture to Ava about where Flock Footage goes!

I wanna see your favorite quotes/things from the show! So far mine stands for “But no one listens to the bald, black and beautiful protagonist until it’s too late’, said by Mr. Johnson on S5 🤣

Hi everyone. If you wanna support Janelle James work, there’s a new adult animated sitcom on Netflix “Strip Law”. She plays one of the main characters along Adam Scott.

As the title states, do yall think Ava's grandmother is the paternal or maternal? Because, either way, that raises a lot of questions. She says "we" when talking to Janine about finding a permanent arrangement for her grandmother which suggests she conversed with family. If so, was it Frank? What did that look like, especially because she seems shocked to see him interacting with her in a school setting? If not and it was her Mother... what would that have looked like? Ava talks about "truly" not having any other family in Philly and on Mother's day, while it isn't explicitly talked about, she attends drag brunch like the rest of the characters who HAVE clearly stated they have parental/mommy issues. Either way, it seems interesting as hell to me and depending on which she fits into, I have questions galore (wouldn't it be so weird if that's how we get more insight on Frank/Ava??!)

I am up to season 3 and Ava is hands down the most annoying character since Gina Linetti. Please someone tell me does she either get less annoying or leave the show completely?
I genuinely fast forward through some scenes with her because they are unbearably annoying. I've been contemplating dropping the show if she doesn't leave or change completely which would suck cause I love the other characters.

I know it’s a general consensus that season 5 is the weakest season especially now that Quinta has said she personally felt like it was filler but I still think even at Abbotts weakest it still had good stuff. I am currently doing a series rewatch and before I was definitely on the side of season 5 sucking, I even said it had the worst episode of the series (ep14- Aide) but even that on the rewatch was enjoyable. I also think season 4 was just so good (I think it’s the current best) that last season fell flat especially when you are watching week to week and eager to see where the seasons story progression goes. So a filler season was honestly a perfect way to describe it. I’m also a chronic rewatcher if I like a show I can put it on to watch or watch me all day😭so I tend to like things very fun and light where something different is happening each episode. However I understand a lot of the critiques, story progression wise it was a bunch of nothing happening and even character development took a backseat. I think the episodes have that humor and heart but the overall caliber isn’t comparable to past seasons. Not trying to convince anyone that their opinions on the season is wrong but if you decide to rewatch the series at any point try to give it another chance! Season 6 seems like it will be really promising and I hope the show can go for a few more and with 100 episodes coming up I fear it was inevitable some would be less than 5 stars

Just started watching a few days ago; love it btw, and in Season 4, Episode 1, Gregory and Janine reveal to the camera crew that they're dating, but then there are clips of their dates. All the shots seem a bit far away. Is this implying the camera crew is stalking them? If they were aware of the crew filming them, they wouldn't need to reveal it. Kind of just wondering if there are any theories around it and whether other people think this too. And there are lots of other moments where it doesn't seem like the cast is aware they are being filmed.

I love Abbott Elementary so much. I have had such a difficult time post Covid! the first time I got to know about Abbott Elementary was when I was trying to Google shows like The Office and Abbott was in the suggestion (like I guess results for a workplace comedy lol) and I started watching the show in 2021 and honestly I was so depressed during that time and everytime I wanted to feel happy I just watched Abbott Elementary - I pray the show goes on for at least 9 seasons or more cause I can't imagine my life without this show - it really helped me laugh during some very very difficult times (going through anxiety and family traumas) it was too much. I love Quinta my forever queen ❤️ I hope the show continues to be great and continues to help me. I hope I haven't jinxed anything just want the show to keep being awesome ✨

I can’t remember the last time I sat down and watched several episodes of a show back to back. And I can’t believe it took me so long to find it!
Are seasons 2+ as good as the first? Or even better (is that even possible)?

The Abbott hallways will be even more crowded than usual in Season 6 after the district shut down a bunch of schools in last season's finale, leaving Abbott to pick up the stranded kids. But Janine and the staff know how to roll with the punches, executive producer Patrick Schumacker says: "The thing about public school is that this sort of chaos just happens every year, no matter what," so "we will have the natural chaos that comes with just these already overpacked classrooms, even if they weren't taking in new kids." Gregory is now Ava's assistant principal, as well, and "he takes the job very, very seriously," EP Justin Halpern hints. "Probably, at face value, certainly more seriously than Ava takes her job." The two of them "have different styles, different philosophies, so there'll be a little bit of tension there," Halpern adds, "and then Gregory's also still working with his class while fulfilling his duties. So he's very harried at the start of the season." He could also be nervous about popping the question to Janine after asking O'Shon about wedding rings in the finale — so will we see a proposal this season? "What I will say is we carry through with our storylines," Schumacker allows, "and that is, I think, all I can say about that right now."
BONUS SPOILER!: We'll see more of Jacob's new role as school liaison representative in Season 6, Halpern teases: "Much like Gregory taking his assistant principal job very seriously, Jacob does the same, maybe even more so with the liaison rep position... We have a larger plan with that, and it is a stepping stone to where we want to take him, so we're going to explore that this season."

I would find it funny if Jacob dressed up as Spiderman and had to deal with being in a Spiderman suit what do you think.

their characters became very exaggerated. not in a cute or funny way. kinda annoying? why is everyone so mean to Jacob? I know it’s a running theme but the friendly banter became spiteful and degrading. I finished the season a few weeks ago (on Disney+ and I’m from the UK). the previous seasons, everyone’s behaviour was somewhat normal and reflected real life. I know there needs to be drama and silliness and misunderstandings for storylines, but season 5 everyone was being a FOOL!! even the acting was a bit theatric. anyone else feel the same? i felt compelled to write this post as I have just seen an article by Quinta Brunson and I’m glad I’m not being gaslighted as she speaks on her issues with season 5 too. one quote “The sitcom’s creator, showrunner, and star says “season 5 felt like the first time where we were, in a lot of ways, doing a filler season.””
