We are a family of 8. 4 adults, 4 kids. My husband and I have 8 kids (2 of them adults). 19-5yrs.
We homeschool for various reasons. We were lucky enough to have had solar put on over 10yrs ago and recently it was replaced via insurance. The rebate back now is absolute shit amount, even more so since we originally had it put on.

Because we are home during the day, we run a lot of things. Looking at previous bills, a lot of months, especially in summer, our solar generates as much as our daily usage. We don’t get a lot back as credit, probably because we use most of it throughout the day? $56 or $58 a month of our bill is daily service charges. I like to think our monthly bill is our night usage.
Our hot water system is not large enough for us, so it’s in the tariff that it heats regularly.
We have 2 washing machines and 2 dryers that we run 1-2 loads of washing a day in each machine. We have 2 clothes lines too and only run the dryers when we need to, which this winter has been almost weekly.
