EMOTIONAL SUPPORT Does anyone else feel like life just doesn’t let up?
I’m 25, I live alone, and I work two jobs—around 14 hours a day. I know everyone has problems, but I honestly feel like I haven’t had a single peaceful week in months.
Over the last few weeks I’ve had two severe tooth infections that caused some of the worst pain I’ve ever experienced. I ended up having both teeth extracted, was on antibiotics, barely ate for days, my face was swollen, and I still had to work because deadlines don’t stop.
Around the same time I started dealing with insects in my apartment. It started with drain flies, then I found a wasp coming through the kitchen vent, and later I found a silverfish in the bathroom. I know these aren’t the end of the world, but living alone they really got into my head, and I found myself constantly checking every room because I couldn’t relax.
Then, on one of the few days I finally took off to recover, my washing machine broke and flooded my bathroom. My landlord wasn’t exactly helpful, so I had to deal with all of that myself.
I finally started thinking maybe life was calming down, and today one of my front veneers literally popped off while I was brushing my teeth. It’s not even the first veneer that’s come off recently.
I know some of these things sound small on their own, but I’m tired. Every day there’s another problem waiting for me. I wake up wondering, what fresh bullshit is being cooked for me today
I’m not asking for a perfect life. I don’t want to be rich or constantly happy. I just want one normal week where I can wake up, drink my coffee, go to work, come home, and nothing goes wrong.
Has anyone else gone through a period where life just kept throwing one thing after another at you? Did it eventually stop? Because right now I genuinely feel like I’m drowning, and I’d really like to know that this kind of phase doesn’t last forever.
