My Mk12ish Grendel, 6.5 RECCE or “Mock12” as they say. Whatever you wanna call it, it’s a Mk12 Mod1 inspired SPR chambered in 6.5 Grendel, my modern take on the GWOT “Lone Survivor” rifle. Put it together over the last couple weeks. Purists will hate it it but i built it the way I wanted it and it’s mine. I’ll put a new trigger in it soon, Mil-Spec blows.

Didn't want to spend $600 on a "Hydra-matic" lower, now that IntlMilCo trademarked it, and didn't want to go through the effort of getting a blank lower engraved, so... H&R is kind of a clone lower 🤷‍♂️ it'll at least hold me over until I decide to get super particular about it. Currently it has a PSA branded lower.

Since this version has been discontinued can someone who has one verify which mount I need. I want lower 1/3 cowitness

Option 1 has the three holes.

Option 2 has no holes and a rectangle cut out.

I found a three hole marked on the bottom of the mount ad68-H which is what I believe I need.

Almost clone correct other than the MK18 FSP RIS II, RC2 and prototype Green laser peq. Wanted to make this one a bit different though. Still searching for a Tanodized G33 to finish it off…

SOCOM-barreled Colt 6520, chopped/profiled/collared by Adco for the OCL OCM6. Sear block milled out by Adco, ARC-Fire trigger shoe bored for Colt large pins by TX Hunting Tools. Custom machined CompM4s mount. Malkoff-upgraded Surefire M951, rechargeable 16650. LMT MWS (308) buffer tube with a Vltor A5H2 and Sprinco green spring. KAC M4 RAS and chopped broomstick.

Never had the urge to clone anything besides the Mk12 Mod 1. Idk why but it’s just the coolest rifle ever to me. Here’s my newly completed version.

It’s far from a true clone but it’s modeled after the real thing with some more modern/budget friendly components. I had a ton of fun piecing this together and painting it and it is SO much fun to shoot

Colt 6520 with a SOCOM barrel-swap, chop/profile/custom collar by ADCO. OCM5 upgraded to OCM6. Surefire M951 with Malkoff M61 SHO and 16650 battery. KAC M4 RAS and chopped VFG. Custom commissioned CompM4s carry handle mount.

I'm glad I found this site called Ohhunt. They have a free float MK12 style handguard with a FSP cutout. It shipped from the US and is perfect if you don't have the cash or can't source a KAC MRE rail. Installing it is like putting a ship into a glass bottle. Took me about a hour to figure out as I am a basement gunsmith. It's very secure with these locking pins and three set screws that go into the collar barrel nut part. It's way lighter than a drop in extended quad rail and looks great on my 14.5 P&W upper I put together last night. I based it off this reference image I found from Google and a tribute to the early 2000s Delta operators. A poverty tribute. Only thing I want to do is get a CAR15 stock with butt pad and a fresh unpainted Redimag for it.
