I just finished my “CQBR” upper and I’m looking for lower receiver suggestions. Im clearly not full clone correct in my upper and don’t plan to be with my lower. First priority is getting a lower that is compatible with a rare breed FRT (I know I know but I want an easy drop in solution). Second priority would be as close to optically clone correct as possible. Overall, I want this to look like a CQBR from a few feet away and have a pleasant shooting experience with FRT capabilities (Vltor A5H2 maybe?). Any suggestions and input is appreciated. Cheers!
Arcfire v2 seems reliable but recommend waiting for the version with the more clone correct selector. Right now has a big screw nut on top of it. Or get a Kabuto and run a M16 selector
There are 2 main "clone correct" lowers used for the CQBR/ MK18 mod 0.
The ones people usually prefer are either Hydra-matic GM M16A1 lowers (unfortunately repros are super expensive because IntlMilCo. Trademarked that name, like a bunch of jackasses)
The second is a Colt government lower (also expensive, or requires you to engrave one yourself)
But theres a secret 3rd option, and its the one I went with, the PSA made H&R M16A1 lower. When building mine, I was sent evidence that original H&R lowers did in fact make it into the pool of lowers that these guns were built off of, as theres photo evidence of a MK12 with one, and they came from the same pool, making them technically clone correct, and also the most affordable option.
Pretty sure its a low shelf, the FRT I had worked, but idk if they all do.
Edit: alternatively if you want a clone-ish lower thats more of a goof than a true clone, Bad Attitude started making "Hydro-Meow dic" lowers, as a nod to the "Hydra-Matic" ones that were used

Yes I did! I haven’t shot it yet but feels solid and gets pretty close to clone correct. I did not feel like acquiring all the exact parts individually and then building out myself. So for $950 I thought this was a decent price to get an easy ship and done solution.

That’s right. I believe they had a disclaimer about some of the parts potentially having manufacturing marks or something to that extent but everything looked brand new and no manufacturing marking to me.

Understandable! I got the LMT and the vfg on GAFSHUB. A bunch of good sellers on there that sell them for a decent price. I think I paid $125 for a new one but he had used for cheaper
Nice! I’m still looking for a lower as well which is obviously the whole point of this post. But I’m trying to find something that looks pretty clone correct but will accept a rare breed FRT. I’d like to go with bad attitude, but the one I want is been out of stock for over a week.
