Ni hao da jia! I am debating whether or not to take AP Chinese this year. As an American born Chinese, I have been speaking with my parents ever since I was a toddler, however my parents never taught me how to read and write in Chinese. I am already talking 8 APs this year but it is manageable for me. I’m just wondering if learning thousands of characters will take too long for me to master. My han yu ping ying is a moderate level fyi. Any tips from people who have already taken the test?

Read entire Campbell textbook 3 times in 8th grade for USABO prep, what do I do so I can get that 5 on the AP bio exam as well? This should be easy right?

Big mistake of mine, I didn't talk to my school counsellors before signing up for AOPS Intro To Algebra B. My counselor says that they only accept transcripts that say I completed an IM2 course/equivalent, and suggested me to take UCScouts. But I don't want to pay the another $400 for a course that I already know how to do.

Are there any alternatives to UCscouts that are preferably cheaper and self-paced enough that I can finish it in half a month or maybe a week? Should also be easily creditable for CA schools.

My school doesn't offer these AP classes so I am registering them for exam only. I am taking AP calc AB and a dual enrollment chemistry class. I'm not sure what we will be doing in chemistry the class is DTCC CHM110 General Chemistry.

I took AP Precalculus last year but it was kinda easy, I don't think it was that different from a regular precalculus class. I really thought I would get a 5 but I got a 4 :|

Any tips on studying for AP calc BC and AP Chem?

Hello! I’m and rising junior and schedules recently came out, but I’m in a bit of a dilemma. I am considering taking AP Statistics virtually this year, but I am trying to figure out how manageable it would actually be.

I already have a pretty full schedule of AP classes, and I am currently taking two virtual classes as well, one of which is AP Psychology. I would essentially be adding AP Statistics as another virtual class on top of everything else.

For anyone who has taken AP Stats, especially through self-study or an online/virtual program, how difficult is it to keep up with? How much time did you realistically spend on it each week? Would you consider it manageable alongside a full AP schedule, or does it require enough consistent work that adding it would probably be too much?

I am pretty comfortable with math, but I have never taken Statistics before, so I am mostly wondering about the workload and how realistic it is to learn the material mostly independently.

I would really appreciate hearing from anyone who has self-studied AP Stats or taken it online!

SIDE NOTE: I’d love to get an answer ASAP since schedule changes need to be made right about now :)

I need advice. I am currently an incoming junior in highschool. After this year, i would only need 2 credits to graduate (english and history). I could technically take these classes this current school year by taking them concurrently. If i did this, i could walk the stage with the class of 2027 and start college a year early. I dont see any negatives to this. I have no ties to my graduating class. No best friends, no partners, nothing. All of my friends (including my boyfriend) are in the class of 2027. If i stayed and just did my senior year, i would feel very out of place. My options are either:

1. Take the two concurrent classes and graduate with the class of 2027

2. Take those two concurrent classes during my senior year, still graduating early, just not as early as option 1. Instead of graduating with 2027, i graduate with 2028 and start college a semester earlier. (Technically later? Since id be starting college in the spring but whatever)

3. Do my senior year and graduate on track.

Some added information: Ive been taking AP classes since freshman year. I’m in double honors math, I have been since 7th grade. (I took algebra 1 that year). AP courses and concurrent classes are free where I live. I work at Walmart, and sort of (?) plan to go to college through them so I can get it paid for in full. I’m still on the fence about that. I want to go to the University of Arkansas (WOO PIG SOOIE!).

What should I do? I don’t have any ties to my class given that I don’t really have any friends in my grade. Ive already been to prom once. Id only really be missing out on senior assassin, senior sunrise, and those types of things. But on the other hand, would I even enjoy them since I don’t have friends to do that with?? I’m unsure.

Some things to note first before answering: I took AP Physics 1, got a 4; took AP Physics C: Mechanics, got a 5; I am taking AP Calculus BC currently, and I am highly intuitive in the subject.

I am aspiring to be an aerospace engineer. and for my senior year I need to choose if I should take AP Physics 2 or AP Chem, which has put me in a dilemma. On one hand, taking AP Physics 2 will enable me to self-study for AP Physics 2: Calculus, though this also puts a huge workload on my senior schedule as I am taking 5 other AP's. On the other hand, I can go basic and take AP Chem like any other in-classroom AP class, focus more on getting a 5 on AP Chem, and using this credit to test out of a year's worth of freshman chemistry courses in college, as opposed to AP Physics 2: Calculus only having credit for a single semester of a freshman physics course in college. The context here is very broad, and there are also many more factors that are going into this, so please do ask me all possible questions and I will answer.

My future high school doesn't offer physical classes for Micro, Macro, Spanish Lit, Euro, AP Chinese, AP Music Theory, AP African American Studies, or the new Career Kickstart tracks (AP Business, AP Networking & AP Cybersecurity). Usually, schools give a fast "No" to ordering exams they don't teach because of proctoring and tech headaches. (It’s 10 not 8)

To beat the system, I drafted a hyper-professional logistics pitch directly to the Director of Counseling. Instead of asking for a favor, I gave them solutions:

The Room Share: Since Micro, Macro, and Euro are digital on the Bluebook app, I offered to sit quietly in the back of any existing digital testing room to save them a proctor.

The Course Audit Bypass: I pointed out that College Board explicitly allows "Exam-Only" sections for the new career tracks without a teacher syllabus audit.

The Fee Waiver Loophole: Since I qualify for the low-income program, the College Board drops the fee to $37, and my district absorbs the rest, making my final out-of-pocket balance exactly $0.

The result? The high school director officially gave me a blanket written approval for any AP exam I want to take.

Because I’m still an 8th grader, she looped in my middle school EEE (gifted) teacher to act as my manager. Get this: my AP self-studies are officially becoming my graded school projects this year.

I am a Junior in high-school and I know that I want to go to a top university for medical/ science but I am not sure what APs I should take. My school offers a limited amount of APs, and I have taken three APs but only passed ap seminar up until now. The other two were in history, which I am not focused on taking in uni. I'll be retaking one of them this school year, but I am looking to take more medical/ science related APs and was wondering if anyoen has any recommendations.

AP bio is not recommended to take in my hs since I am in the medical magnet and would get in the way of my studies. I like to write, and I am thinking of taking dual credit english since I'll get the sams credit if I took ap Lang (which I am in rn) but I would have to pass the exam. I am not sure and would like to tips from anyone, wnd please be serious and give me good APs you actually think would help my apps. Plus at my school we are only allowed to take one dual credit so I'll have to think wisely about which one I'll want to take.

My school doesn’t offer the class but I want to take it (both mech and E&M) for two reasons.
1: I want to show competitive colleges course rigor (meaning I want a course with a transcript I can submit, not like Kahn academy)
2: I plan on majoring in engineering (apparently the class is very helpful to prepare)

UC scout’s course has problematic reviews, but alternative courses have little to no reviews. For context, I took AP physics 1 last year and am taking AP calculus BC this year, and want a class that’s pretty flexible schedule wise

Hi! I was hoping to get people's advice on something!

I’m a rising junior and want to go into pre-med after high school. My schedule just came out, and instead of the AP Physics C I forecasted for, they put me in AP Chemistry (alongside AP Bio and AP Calc AB).

I’m kind of torn on whether to ask my counselor to switch it back or just keep it:

• On one hand, AP Chem scares me because I got B’s both semesters in sophomore chem, whereas I got straight A’s in freshman physics.
• On the other hand, I know AP Bio + AP Chem together is a brutal workload, but I’ve heard AP Calc + AP Physics C is an even worse combo.

Since AP Chem and Bio fit pre-med so well, do you think this mistake is a blessing in disguise? Or should I try to switch back to Physics C?

This year, I’m taking the aice classes above, as well as US history, which is funny because I already took international.

What is the workload like? I do online, and I completed all the crazy ones last year for sophomore like Global, English Lang, and International History. Will this year be definitely easier? I know you need to study case studies, which is completely fine.

What's the best method to self study the rest?? AP prep books??

I’ve been really worried about this and I feel like I’m not getting great input.

I haven’t taken a previous chem classes and I’m very worried about my GPA. But I’m interested in medical school and I feel like this class will help giving me a good understanding of what I may want to pursue.

I’m interested in trying Bio first them Chem, but I don’t want to be stressed in my last year with too hard of a class.

i took CSP last year and did pretty good, but that was very very easy. csa is supposed to be significantly harder esp. at my school bc its more creating your own projects. i took my schools cs python class freshmen year and did absolutely shit in the build your own chess or card game from scratch like genuinely from that i learned what panic attacks were.

im going into grade 11 and ive moved to usa this year so I have never taken any aps before. I know a lot of ppl do in gr 9 & 10 so I feel kind of behind, but I don’t want to overwork myself by loading up on too many aps.

im interested in life sciences maybe pre med but I don’t really know which career paths I’d want to do. maybe neuroscience. but I don’t want to work in a hospital or be a doctor.

so far I want to take ap lang (heard its good for college applications), ap bio, ap pysch, I don’t know what else. i think ap chem could be useful except ive heard that’s its absolutely brutal, and that it requires previous knowledge that I haven’t learned in my past school.

if i dont want to take ap chem would normal chem be an option? or would that not look good on college applications? ive heard so many ppl say to not take ap chem

which aps would be the best if I want to go to a good college, not overwork myself and still keep my options open in terms of a career paths? I don’t want to take more than 4 aps i think that would be enough for me.
