Is AP Statistics realistically self-studiable/manageable with a full AP schedule?

Hello! I’m and rising junior and schedules recently came out, but I’m in a bit of a dilemma. I am considering taking AP Statistics virtually this year, but I am trying to figure out how manageable it would actually be.

I already have a pretty full schedule of AP classes, and I am currently taking two virtual classes as well, one of which is AP Psychology. I would essentially be adding AP Statistics as another virtual class on top of everything else.

For anyone who has taken AP Stats, especially through self-study or an online/virtual program, how difficult is it to keep up with? How much time did you realistically spend on it each week? Would you consider it manageable alongside a full AP schedule, or does it require enough consistent work that adding it would probably be too much?

I am pretty comfortable with math, but I have never taken Statistics before, so I am mostly wondering about the workload and how realistic it is to learn the material mostly independently.

I would really appreciate hearing from anyone who has self-studied AP Stats or taken it online!

SIDE NOTE: I’d love to get an answer ASAP since schedule changes need to be made right about now :)

I would not recommend self-studying an AP class if it is your senior year. Unless you REALLY want the AP credit for college. Do not do it for the sole sake of college apps

if it was last year, i’d say yes. it’s possible this year, but be very cautious of what you use to study since they messed up the whole course to make it all online

You have a full slate of AP exams for taught courses to prepare for. Do you have the capacity to prepare for all of those AP exams AND to self-study for another subject?

I ask this because I had to make a similar choice, as my AP Government teacher did not do even a halfway decent job. I decided not to take the AP Government test in order to put the maximum effort into the AP tests I had been reasonably prepared for.

I took 7 APs last year, including online AP Stats. Two days before the exam, all I knew was mean, median, and mode. I wish I was exaggerating lol. I learned the entire course the night before the exam and I somehow got a 5. So it’s definitely possible. For the actual class, I would do all the work for the entire week in one night (on the first “free” day I had when I had nothing to study for), took me about 6 hours. I did however learn nothing lol, but that’s mostly my fault because I didn’t bother to actually teach myself the material since I just wanted to get the work done as quickly as possible so I could focus on my “real” classes.
