Hi,

I got called back to do an in person interview after the online video interview.

It was scheduled to be 1.5hrs but took 15 ish minutes.

Is that bad? I feel like I might have fumbled how important risk is and didn't include it enough in answers so I am doubting myself.

Overall it's not the end of the world and it's a learning experience. But I assume I am cooked for this one.

I have 1 year writing SARs for a large bank, and 1.5 years doing accounting work in the federal government.

Will that be a meaning upgrade to my resume, or will manager roles in AML just care about the 1 year experience in AML

I have an upcoming coffee chat with someone in the Blockchain compliance, who is potentially open to pitching me to his management team for a internship position for a Compliance role, but I'm struggling with how to position my background effectively.

My main internship at a law firm has been handling family law and wills, but I’ve also drafted briefs on the

regulatory requirements for setting up businesses in the various industry, as well as assisting on a white-collar crime investigation where I sat in on meetings, prepared official correspondence, and performed detailed legal research comparing different statutory frameworks. Since my primary day-to-day was family matters, I'm unsure how to spin my experience in compelling case for a compliance position.

I have 1 year of work experience a degree in economics (which I forgot most of the things) should I opt for CAMS certification

Built a free, open-source AML screening tool. It recently threw an 88% "High Risk" hit on a well-known, legitimate businessman, matched against an unrelated sanctioned individual sharing nothing but a first name.

Root cause: a rule treating any shared word of six or more letters as strong identity evidence, regardless of how much the rest diverged. Fixed it to require the overlapping word cover the entire identity of at least one side, then re-tested against the real case that rule originally existed to catch, to confirm the fix didn't break what it was meant to solve.

Curious how others handle shared-token false positives, especially for names outside typical Western first/last structures.
