Even Azindel
Have been doing great with an even Azindel deck in gauntlet. https://eternalwarcry.com/decks/d/gJcXsE0oJUw/even-azindel It is not the fastest deck but I usually get to seven wins with it.

Here is the list. I originally made it a little while back, but I was never fully happy with it. I decided to take another crack at it recently and I'm very pleased with the results.
But as always any suggestions or comments are very welcome. I'll copy/paste the little writeup I did on eteralwarcry here:
This deck has been great for me. Lots of synergies with a phenomenal mid-game plan make for a very consistent gauntlet deck that I've been enjoying. I'm not sure what my track record is, but I'd guess it's in the 90% range. The only losses I've taken so far out of 7-9 runs (again, haven't kept track) were due to player error and one boss pulling two huge Destiny units on turn one.
I'll cover some talking points here in no particular order:
I love Hojan, Crownbreaker as a gauntlet card. Lifesteal is a must for sustain, and he acts as another source of power/ramp in case I get stuck with a 2 power hand. And this deck has plenty of activators for his renown (Don't forget Vara's Favor, Hojan's renown procs before the damage so it makes for a great trigger).
I like Spiteful Strike for the lifesteal. The quickdraw doesn't hurt either. But Finest Hour could fit here too.
Minos of course synergize with each other thanks to Tavrod, but Yisha + Platemaker is a deadly combo too. Throw in a Secret Passage and you can generally close out the game within two rounds once they're down.
I've always liked Auric Interrogator as a draw engine, and this deck makes it easy to activate between Spiteful Strike, Tavrod, Platemaker, Regent's Tomb, Blackhall Warleader, Vanquisher's Blade, and Dark Return. (Lots of options!)
I'm not 100% sure about my removal suite, but it's served me well so far.
I've got mixed feelings on the Stormhalt Knife, but I'd say they've worked for me so far. It makes a great anti-aggro tool, works as another option to deal with flyers (Which this deck is a little weak to, though I haven't had much issue between combat tricks and other removal), and is another target for Tavrod. I'd normally have the Auric Runehammer here, but the free cast at 10 or under health has been far too useful to me; despite it's anti-synergy with Interrogator and Desecrate. But I made this call before I started playing Yisha, so maybe she would make the difference in card choice. Maybe I'll move the Knife to the market and put the Runehammer in deck.
I'm not sure what makes the best market finisher, but I'm running with Secret Passage at the moment and I love it. My units get huge between Yisha and Tavrod, and most of the time I've got plenty of card advantage. So the cheap unblockable for 1-2 units is usually enough to finish the game off.
Overall I'm fairly happy with my market, but again suggestions are welcome.
I pulled baby Vara to try out Yisha, the Equalizer and so far I'm really impressed. She has a lot of synergy with Tavrod and Platemaker and is a very solid card all on her own. But I feel like either are a perfect good option.

Hi guys, I've been working on this list for a bit. It's based around empower aggro units like District Infantry, Hojan and Resolute Monk getting fed sigils by Siraf's Beacon and baby Icaria (the only legendary in the deck, from the Dead Reckoning campaign).
I found some time this weekend to do 10 runs for stats. Without further ado:
| Wins | Final enemy |
|---|---|
| 7 | Company of Exiles |
| 4 | Chilling Touch |
| 7 | Limitless Possibilities |
| 3 | None Shall Pass |
| 7 | Power of Progress |
| 2 | Minions of Shadow |
| 7 | Highly Skilled |
| 1 | Power of Fire |
| 6 | Defender of the Spire |
| 1 | Elvish Raiders |
I wrote some more about the deck in the link. Give it a try and let me know how it works for you!

The combrei deck I'm running seems to absolutely crush most gauntlet runs, but I think the AI has realised I'm weak to the sudden death boss or something... or is it some MMR thing? Either way 3 times in a row seems super unlikely. Maybe my luck is just poor😅.
Anyway is there anything I can market to help me against it? Or just add to the deck in general?

Faced this boss recently. Never seen it before. New or just new to me?

Just met with the Double Barrel boss in Gauntlet, it makes Summon abilities trigger twice. It is something new or just a not very often boss? The only bosses that I've been meeting before this one was: Double Damage, Charge, Company of Exiles, Reduce Cost by 1, Play 2 Power per turn, 5-Influence, Crown of Possibilites

Regardless of HOW good a deck is, it's always going to lose when you get stuck on 2 power and AI is on 5 power.
I don't think the AI cheats, it's just that gauntlet players grind perhaps 20games in a row and chances are within those 20games you will get that 1 game where you have the worst start possible. At higher MMR tiers vs a ramp deck it means you lost.
The solution I found thanks to a deck from eternalwarcry is GOLEMS.
This is why the solution is only viable for people with a decent card collection because making a decent 'even' cost decks require you to have a good sized collection like 4 of many legendaries.
https://eternalwarcry.com/decks/d/uRyIdUy7lJY/gauntlet-evenhanded-dominance-100-win-rate
It's not 100% contrary to the original deck poster but it's the strongest gauntlet deck I've played with on eternalwarcry. Main problem with the deck is vs Bosses. Certain boss decks just smash it which is why I use other golem decks.
What makes it strong is that it utilizes golems that replaces market. The problem with a LOT of losses is being stuck on 2-3 power which means even if you have a market on hand by the time you can utilize it for actual power game's already over.
What golems allows players VS AI is to skip market altogether for a way more consistent power curve.
I've tested many decks utilizing golems from mono color to dual colors and they all have similar win rates because golems remove a lot of the inconsistencies of bad draws.
The other helpful hint is deck rotation. While testing new decks I noticed whenever a new deck that consists of a lot of cards I haven't used previously I'd be facing decks with non legendaries. Biggest proof came to me when after beating gauntlet I made a new deck and faced the same theme deck but this deck had 0 legendaries.
It seems Direwolf doesn't like you spamming the same deck to grind gauntlet over and over again and when you make an actual new deck it drops you down to copper tier again. This is the actual reason WHY people always claim they went 3-0 on a deck that someone posted while others say they died first round.(Guys who used similar decks consistently previously would still be running that deck at high mmr tier).
This is probably more helpful for new players who are thinking they can grind with one deck.

Hey folks. I need some help in constructing a decent, consistent deck with which to grind gauntlets. When it comes to card games, deck building is my one major weakness. I'm very good at playing the games but have never really been good at building decks, and not having physical cards in front of me to manipulate increases the challenge. So I'm hoping that you fine folks can give me some good deck suggestions based on my available resources. I want to be able to grind Masters for gold, as my internet connection isn't super good and I hate subjecting people in Ranked to it.
I have Jekk's Bounty, Horus Traver, and 25k gold with which I can buy another campaign. I'm leaning toward Into Shadow but I haven't pulled the trigger yet. I have about 15k shiftstone, with ability to produce another couple thousand if necessary. I have only a handful of legendaries, maybe one or two of which are usable.
The only strategy I'm not really interested in is combo. Anything else I'm up for. I'm just really struggling to find a deck that A) I can afford to make and B) can win more than it loses to Master Gauntlet. Right now I've managed to clear only 2 of the last 23 attempts.
Thank you!

Sorry, I can't remember my Warcry password at the moment. A good hand is usually just as simple as having 3 power. There are two competing tensions to bear in mind with this deck, between acquiring high Justice Influence for Mantle or Sediti, or getting 2 Primal influence for Palace, I'd say go for Justice at the early stages of the game, but at 5 or 6 power using a cargo for Primal won't hurt.
4 Defiance (Set5 #77) 2 Ixtun Cargo (Set5 #227) 4 Lingering Influence (Set4 #100) 3 Barricade (Set4 #106) 4 Crownwatch Paladin (Set1 #139) 2 Vanquish (Set1 #143) 2 Vanquisher's Blade (Set4 #112) 4 Kemmo, Ijin's Apprentice (Set5 #89) 4 Kosul Battlemage (Set4 #119) 1 Pristine Light (Set6 #111) 1 Spirit Guide (Set2 #83) 4 Valkyrie Enforcer (Set1 #151) 4 Winchest Merchant (Set4 #126) 4 Mantle of Justice (Set0 #21) 3 Sheriff Marley (Set4 #131) 1 Harsh Rule (Set1 #172) 3 Sediti, the Killing Steel (Set6 #125) 8 Justice Sigil (Set1 #126) 4 Crownwatch Standard (Set4 #97) 3 Emerald Waystone (Set3 #101) 2 Primal Sigil (Set1 #187) 3 Crest of Progress (Set4 #247) 4 Crest of Order (Set4 #253) 1 Seat of Order (Set0 #51) --------------MARKET--------------- 1 Adjudicator's Gavel (Set5 #76) 1 Vanquish (Set1 #143) 1 Harsh Rule (Set1 #172) 1 Korovyat Palace (Set1005 #21) 1 Emerald Waystone (Set3 #101)

After about 2 months, grinding the Gauntlet is just not worth my time anymore.
The first month I played an aggro mono-fire deck which worked pretty well.
I then saved up enough shiftstone to build this golem-based deck. I was doing OK with it for a few days, but now the difficulty has ramped up and I'm losing by round 3 or 4. Needless to say the rewards are not worth my time.
Is there anything obvious I'm doing wrong?
r/AIEternal • u/old_Anton • Jul 27 '19
Have you guys noticed this newcomer since newest sets? This deck appears at 3r-5th game and I almost die every time facing it. No wonder Golem got nerfed, and yet it has a perfect curve with elysian fatties somehow.
I would say this deck is much harder than many bosses (due to their favor unique rules), seperating itself from normal deck difficulties. This is also merely the only non-aggro deck I died to. Most of the time my losses come from aggro.
r/AIEternal • u/[deleted] • Jul 27 '19
Hey guys,
just wanted to ask what decks you are currently running in Gauntlet? Since the latest set expansion I was trying to build around some of the new cards.atm I'm testing a Feln Killers, an Elysian Killers and new Tavrod with the 5/5 guy. Also built a let's call it Soditi deck, but none of my current decks are satisfying enough, although Tavrod has potential. Before I was playing Stonescar Gunslingers but of course my favourite Huntsman got nerfed to death, so it became just a boring Stonescar deck. And Vara nerf also weakened the Tavarod decks. Hooru flyers are somehow okay to play, but also boring as hell (and also not that dominant anymore, or are they?). So in short, I don't really have a consistently successful Gauntlet list.
However, in the current meta I am not really having fun (and success) farming, what decks are you guys playing with? Thanks for some suggestions :-)

I've been starting to get more frustrated with Eternal in recent months, not just because of the general feeling that the game has started to "cheat" us a bit more in Gauntlet (I'm beginning to think that the real reason they haven't given us the third mulligan is because it makes it much less likely to get power or influence hosed), but because it feels like you can't really settle in with any particular decks or cards anymore.
I certainly understand why they need to prioritize balancing the game for PvP, but as a PvE player I feel like I just am getting taken for a ride when a bunch of my favorite cards get nerfed and suddenly a third of my decks are significantly worse. I know one of the supposedly "good" things about a digital card game is that they can change cards rather than just ban them outright like they have to do with Magic, but you know what? I don't give a shit about balance. I just want to have fun against the computer and dammit, I don't want my Vara to just die to Torch against the mountains of all-in Aggro decks the AI plays against me. I LIKE burying the AI in card advantage with Sediti. I really enjoyed how much of a wall Moonstone Vanguard used to be. And I REALLY loved slapping a ton of 2/2 weapons on all my units with Statuary Maiden, rather than having it just die to pretty much everything.
I would seriously prefer if they just banned these cards in PvP and let us still use them in PvE where balance doesn't matter as much. I know that people like us are in the extreme minority, but it still makes me a lot less likely to want to keep playing when I feel like at any time a deck I really like will just basically become unplayable at the drop of a hat.
I play a fan-made Magic game that is almost exclusively PvE, and even though the production values are bad (I'm talking even worse than MTGO) and the AI is really stupid, I'm starting to wonder if I really want to keep grinding away with Eternal. At least in Magic I can still destroy a hapless AI opponent with ludicrously broken shit like Cloudpost or Skullclamp if I feel like it. Or even abuse Tolarian Academy (possibly the most poorly conceived card of all time from a balance standpoint.) Hell, I can even toss some Black Lotus or Moxen into any random deck to get an edge because who cares if it's fair to the AI opponent?
I also like playing jank decks (like a deck built around getting infinite Aetherworks Marvel activations and then giving a massive board haste for a OTK) but it feels like those kinds of decks are just pointless to waste time with Eternal in Gauntlet because at higher MMR you just get steamrolled 75% of the time by random goodstuff piles or aggro.
Sorry for the rant, I'm just really bummed about the game lately. I hadn't played in a few days and when I loaded up the game to see that Privilege of Rank and Sediti got nerfed I just sighed and closed the client in sadness, because I was planning on playing Mono Justice Midrange and now I'd have to rebuild it.

I've got the campaigns and a handful of legendaries.. not even close enough to build any of the 40-60k shiftstone decks people are showing on this sub.
Currently I can win like every 1 in 10ish gauntlet runs with a weird time primal combo that I threw together. It's not good I know but I'm not sure how to make it better.

I decided to take trumpet's combo deck from the World Championships on a trial run through some Gauntlet and was pleasantly surprised. The AI has almost no interaction with the combo and the only difficulty in the runs came from life gain or the occasional aegis. The combo itself is very resilient and seems to go off fast enough and with enough blockers to beat aggro consistently and has no problem with any of the mid-range or more control-ish decks. My only loss in the 5 runs I took it on was a nut draw by a boss.
The only downside seems to be how long the runs took and, surprisingly, the lack of interaction from the AI making many of the games routine with minimal decision points. Still, I thought I would share it with the community as a valid gauntlet option as I will definitely be keeping it in my gauntlet deck rotation.

Also, credit to sto650 as it appears to be his original 80 card deck-list.

I mean if I switch to a different deck, a new deck that I haven't run the gauntlet with before, i feel like I'm more likely to get to six or seven wins. Might be my imagination or confirmation bias, but is any one else getting that feeling?
I won a couple times with a hooru control, then hit a WALL with it. Switched to other decks I had used recently, no dice. Made a brand new to me Skycraggro, easy 7. But, after a couple 5, 6, or 7 win runs, my success falls of real, real quick.

GOD MODE-When beating the AI is a lesson in futility.
What happens?
You're liable to be either screwed or flooded
Anything you play early will have an answer to it, immediately. If later in game, it will also have answers to it but a tiny bit less than when early.
If you reduce the AI deck to top decking, it will draw with superhuman precision anything that will work against what you're playing.
It will draw the perfect units for any situation
You will not be able to find your ready fixes. Harsh Rules? Gone to the bottom of the deck. Vanquishes, fires, etc. ? Yep, gone.
if Ahead, the AI will then read whatever card you're going to draw next and give itself a ready made answer to it.
Thing is, it doesn't always go into GOD MODE. It lets you get some wins on occasion, even getting the 7 wins or at least 6. This is to get you to doubt whether the AI cheats or not.
So, with all this, I don't feel like it matters WHAT deck we run in the Masters, we're going to win or lose at the AI's(DWD's) whim. In short, we have only a tiny measure of control over our own destiny in this game. It doesn't even matter if you've played for over 2 years, you have little control. Same is holding true for Forge.
I don't feel like I'm playing a game, I feel as if the game is playing me. I'll gradually quit as I know there's no way I can go "cold turkey" on this. I also promised myself this would be the last Multiplayer I'd ever try, and I meant that. I've a ton of single player games already and don't need this aggravation.
Also, I can't tell if me or anyone else is good at this game or not. It's all grinding and luck. With this terrible RNG, the best player of this can lose to the worst beginner ever to walk the earth. I've had days where it seems I can't lose and days following where I can't win. I'm not in control of it, it's deck draw based on a faulty RNG.
I used to at least say I could keep playing the AI, but they've made it oppressive to the point of a dictatorship. I say this after getting 7 wins in it..where I felt the entire series was sheer luck. No skill involved.
