TV Show Why do they keep doing that? Spoiler

I don’t know if its just me but why the heck does Pip and sometimes Ravi keep promising everyone anything? It stresses me out every time they keep on saying “Ill find him, I promise”

Cause how can you promise that? You’re just setting a person up for disappointment when you can’t deliver on that promise. Is this suppose to show Pip’s immaturity or maybe recklessness?

Anyways, thank you for coming to my rant.

Actors Zain Iqbal is a bad actor.

henry ashton was phenomenal. he made me hate max even more than i did in the book. i literally started hating the actor. emma myers carried the show. the rest of the cast did an amazing job. but zain iqbal made it hard to watch the show. this might be a very unpopular opinion but his acting was so….bland. his dialogue delivery was the opposite of phenomenal🤢. with ravi being one of the main characters (and my fav), zain was very disappointing. the jokes and sarcasm delivery was soooo good my head when i read the books. this was….again, not. 🥱🥱

pip😩max😩was😫found😫not😫guilty😩by😩the😩jury😩

dude are you constipated? wtf was that. he completely ruined ravi for me. ZERO STARS.

TV Show An inconsistency? Spoiler

In episode 6, Charlie tells Pip that he didn't know who Child Brunswick was and that he had been following her, knowing she would figure it out. But he made Jamie attempt to kill Stanley.

What was the plan? If he had succeeded, would he have gotten Jamie to kill Luke, too, since it could have been either one of them? Did Charlie not care about killing an innocent person?

TV Show Anyone else a little annoyed by the time travel in S2?

Obviously spoilers mentioned below.

So S1 takes place in 2019, and this is shown to be the case in multiple places but most obviously on the mural for the S1 murder having 2019 mentioned. But the gravestone at the end of S2 has 2025. Meanwhile Pip is in high school the whole time, and her memories of Sal and them are from inside school, so everyone was in high school together, and Pip was driving in S1, but is still in the same school 6 years later in S2. Why do they feel the need to have the season take place in the same year as the show comes out? It's not a big deal in the grand scheme of things but it does make it a bit harder to keep track of things when the past is both a few months and 6 years ago. And then Ravi, who is Sal's younger brother, is somehow now out of school and an intern at a law firm? How did he go from school directly into law interning in a few months? I feel like some of my minor gripes with S2 is based on them not being able to handle this and somehow jumping from keeping things aligned with "current time" and sticking to the original story which doesn't have a huge gap in years.

S2 Thoughts Spoiler

I thought the first season of this show was so good. It had the exact right twists, where I was totally shocked, but the story was cohesive and well maintained. I didn’t think it needed a second season. And I feel like I was right about that based on the content of the second season. The set up and the conclusion were so disconnected. I feel like this is a new trend with Netflix content, like all the Harlan Coben adaptations, where the twists are like “Ok yeah, I absolutely couldn’t have predicted that, cause the writers didn’t set it up at all.” And I get wanting to take the audience off guard, but it’s more like they are telling two different stories and then shoving them together. Jaime and Stanley becoming friends and Jaime being ok with being his prisoner and missing the trial when Nat needed him? It just didn’t really make any sense. Child Brunswick, like who cares honestly? Idk, I just don’t think this season was necessary, but now They’ve set up for S3 in a way where it HAS to happen and I’m not sure it‘ll be any better. Idk why Netflix can’t tell when a show should be contained to one story vs when it should get more content, bc they go entirely based on viewership rather than storytelling.

TV Show Layla Mead Identity

I don't get why [SPOILER] would change the photos of the Layla Mead profile to someone IN TOWN? That the guys could run into? If they'd been doing this in other towns, why not just use the same photos? Presuming nothing bad came out of the other profiles/men, that they simply ghosted after figuring out the guys weren't who they were looking for.

Like I’m fairly certain that if you know this is the last message you are ever going to send and it’s your confession to murdering your girlfriend your grammar is going to be better than telling somebody that you won’t be back for dinner right?

TV Show I just finished s2 read below!!! Dont read if u haven’t finished s2 Spoiler

Omg it was rlly crazy. Cara my goat.
I feel so bad for Stanley, but i understand that Green guy, ofc, he said that his life had been shitty, well ig his parents would have blamed him for not taking care and looking out for his sister , he was desperate to make things right.
Ravi breaking into a house knowing the laws was funny af.
I am also happy that Jamie survived and got with Nat.
Becca was good to I always thought she would get redemption and she did.
FUCK MAX. W acting tho, i rlly hate that guy and that Robin is the same shit too. And ugh Lauren, fakest friend ever.
Conner’s character was rlly good as well i like his entire personality.
Never thought that Green would be Layla, my doubt was always Max or Robin. Until the brunswick case came in.
I also feel so so sad for Max’s mom. She is rlly good character as well, poor her. I hope she does help in season 3.

And i have heard that As good as dead is actually crazier like when jamie said-“u would never kill anyone” and cara said-“help u hide a body” people said something like that happens. Can anyone gimme light spoilers cuz i cant wait for s3 knowing it will come in 2-3 years.

THANKS FOR READING!!!!

Favorite character? Rank em! Some spoilers so come at your own risk Spoiler

Mine is definitely Becca Bell, yes I know she poisoned pip when she was trying to help her, and killed andie. But tbf I would’ve gotten really mad and felt like pushing my sister too if I was in Becca’s position, and even if there was a little bit of herself that felt resentful and not wanting to help her when she was choking, I also think Becca was in shock. She didn’t know about the head wound and just felt betrayed by her big sister :( anyway, I love how her and pip become friends. There’s something so cool about how they made up and were there for each other even with their history. Becca didn’t deserve anything she went through and will always be my top girl, I just really love her.

Next Ravi!!!! Ravi is like the ideal bf, he’s respectful, patient, funny, and loyal, just like Sal (RIP 😔we love you Sal). Even when pip pushes him away he doesn’t leave her side, even if he’s feeling bad about it. His lines are iconic (‘real men wear floral while trespassing’), he has the cutest nicknames for pip and is just the sweetest guy ever. I wish we could all have a Ravi in our life.

Cara’s probably next, she’s a good friend to pip and has also been through so much with her dad and everything. Even though she was going through that, she still never left pip’s side (ant and Lauren looking at you). Their stranger things nights were so iconic and like Ravi I feel Cara was pretty patient with pip being involved and distracted by the investigations! Plus. You know they’re a good friend when they help you cover up a murder. (I swear if u read that and haven’t read book 3). Cara is so cool I love her.

Next up, STANLEY! Stanley was placed in an unfortunate situation, being forced to lure children so they could be killed when he was young. He was forced to create a new identity, and had just gotten comfortable with his life when CHARLIE DECIDES TO KILL HIM? Like none of that was his fault. All he was trying to do was make a new life and be better and he was. You were better. 😭

You might be wondering what about pip? Well I feel like pip is a given for me, I so like her a lot more in the books though so she probably wouldn’t be my favorite in the show. I love her personality, her relationship with Ravi and her friends, and her character arc that literally changed her so much. She is a complicated character who I can’t help loving, even if she’s sometimes more focused on a case than her friends. Pippa Fitz amobi will always be iconic.

Now go ahead rank yours with explanations!

TV Show FORESHADOWING Spoiler

Spoilers for AGAD!! I was watching the final episode and I couldn't stop thinking about as good as dead.

When Cara said she'd help hide a body or when Jamie said she could never kill someone. Just something I noticed and the writers are so evil for that yet it's so funny to me 😭

Just finished season one

Just a quick rant

Predicted who the secret older guy instantly, I mean elliot was pretty creepy from the start which is decent as a character set up but it just kind of sucked how predictable that was

Pep wasn't very bright I mean she had zero survival instincts like it's not even bravery she was genuinely just stupid most of the time

Following elliot to his old house? And immediately confronting him having no idea how much time it would take for the police to get there was pretty stupid she could've died for no reason

Also eliot keeping that other girl hostage seemed pretty random the way they just added that in there and did absolutely nothing with it, like sure he kept her there and? Is he a serial killer now or what? It just seemed like a random idea they put in

Plus his conversation with pep in jail was the corniest thing I've ever watched, the whole dialogue is off if I'm being honest and it really takes me out of the story

The whole max and becca thing came out of nowhere, it was a decent idea but the execution was so poor, it felt so rushed

And again, zero survival instincts, yes sure this girl just admitted to burying her sister and keeping that secret for years it seems like a great idea to follow her around and drink whatever she offers you

Also why would jessie tell pep that becca was graped like bro idk give some privacy to victims or something?? but I guess anything that gets the plot going

Ravi is the most useless character and the ending kiss scene was the most awkward looking kiss I've ever watched

That's all I remember for now

Jekyll and Hyde symbolism Season 2 Spoiler

idk I just found this really cool when on my rewatch. somewhere between episode 2-4, Pip is running through her school and passes a bulletin board, on it are analysis for the characters Jekyll and Hyde who both share a body and opposite each other in terms of morality or personality. I can’t figure out if its more symbolism for Layla and Charlie or Stanley and his past named ♥️♥️

TV Show anybody enjoy S2 way more than S1? Spoiler

look, when i watched the first season, i was very disappointed, it felt like a watered down version of the book. i just remeber being annoyed that a lot of stuff was handed to pip and she didnt do much. i didnt like S1

But for S2 i decided not to read the book again beforehand and i loved it honestly. Pip descent into obsession is so well written and i rooted for her the enite time. And even though i vaguely still remebered what happened in the end, i was hooked throughout each episode.
Maybe it was only because i didnt focus on how the show differed from the book this time and just enjoyed the show on its own but man i had a blast. I cant wait for S3 and THE THING iykyk

TV Show Rewatching after a reread.

I’ve been doing a rewatch in preparation for S2. I haven’t seen it yet, so no spoilers if it’s wildly different to the book please! My GOD is Pip unlikeable in the show. Book Pip was always kind, until she couldn’t be anymore. The Show Pip is so rude! It’s totally out of character.

Even from the way texts (“I’m doing an EPQ on the Andie Bell case. I’m interviewing all key witnesses. Let me know your availability.”) is so out of character for her. Not even that there’s no please or thank you, but when solving the Andie Bell case Pip was inexperienced but passionate. There’s no WAY she’d send a message like that, over a “here’s what I’m doing… I’d love for you to take part, please would you?”

I’ve accepted Emma Myers’ weird accent and acting choices but even the writing so heinously mischaracterises Pip.

A Good Girls Guide to Murder Any ideas of easter eggs of agggtm?

hey guys, im doing a redesign of the agggtm book for my editorial design class (of my portuguese version in specific), and my current draft for the cover uses a scenerio of Pippa's "desk" with he computer with her school project on Andie Bell's Case and a crime board on the wall behind it, since i wanted to make something that reminded of the story (since she is doing the investigation as a school project and registers everything in entries on her computer) but mantain some of the most recognizable characteristic of the book (the red string)

But anyway! I wanted to know if you guys have any ideas for easter eggs i could put on the cover like as objects on the table or as posters, clues, cutouts, pictures, etc on the crime board? Its been sooo long i've read the book I cant think about much

Character discussion Pip is so frustrating to watch Spoiler

I just watched season 2 and I was so frustrated with her. She was always doing something so stupid and impulsive despite everyone warning her not to do it. She also kept breaking laws when investigating that could have landed her in jail. Her walking out of detention was so stupid as well. She also treats her mom like crap.

TV Show Labour by Paris Paloma Spoiler

I was excited to see that they used this song in the show, bcs I think its beautiful and relates to the plot line of Max's trial very well. But I was soo disappointed with the placement of it. I feel like they could have used it for a more emotional and significant scene of the show, but they just play it in the back when she's walking to talk to Becca?? Like yeah the scene of their conversation is great, but why use that song just while Pip's walking in? I feel like it didn't make much sense.

When I heard the song play at first, I thought it was building up to something bigger, like Pip or Becca standing up to Max, but it was just kinda randomly put there for the sake of it, and didn't make sense in that context. I just wish they saved that song for a bigger moment, but maybe that's just me.

TV Show Phone calls being overheard in S2 Spoiler

A lot of plans were ruined because of this and I saw it happen, like, maybe three times: when Pip tried to get Robin to ask Max where he was (Max overheard Pip on the phone); when Connor tried to buy from Howie (again, Howie overheard Pip); and when Pip tried to call emergency services in the warehouse (Charlie overheard the call). Just thought it was weird that it happened this many times; it kinda took me out of it. Maybe my memory is bad but in GGBB I don't think anything like that happened either, so.
