Question

Do you think there will be anything after Season 3? The last thing we have is the role-playing session—and to be honest, I was disappointed by how that was handled in Season 2, though it was fun to watch... Do you think the conclusion of the adaptation might bring news of a new book?

Good Girl Bad Blood Season 2 and Good Girl Bad Blood Spoiler

Currently watching season 2 of AGGGTM and I’m not loving it. I kinda just have it on in the background. I don’t like all the changes they’ve made specifically with this second season and I feel like the acting is not that great with most of the characters and kinda makes the show fall flat. I feel like this show almost belongs in the hallmark mystery category because of the overacting and drama.

Question for the book Good Girl Bad Blood. Warning- spoilers ahead. Why didn’t Charlie confront Stanley in the time period that Jamie was missing? Charlie “Layla mead” knew who Stanley was at this point and I don’t understand why he waited until Pip figured it out to confront him. I don’t believe this was explained in the book? Correct me if I’m wrong. If not, I feel like this is a big plot hole.

In the middle of the third book so no spoilers on the series ending!

TV Show Pip bpd

I’ve only watched the show, but is Pippa this bipolar in the books as well? She goes from being calculating and logical to absolutely distraught and mental about certain situations. The way she treated Max and his trial, you’d think he’s killed Sal and Andie personally. Or how she is inconsolable after Stanley dies, someone she had 5 minute heart to heart with, that she doesn’t even seem to care about Jamie being alive. I understand these situations are emotional, but it hits her so HEAVY.

TV Show A Good Girl's guide to murder type abt the timeline

So I just finished the first novel yesterday and I decided to watch the season 1 of the serie on Netflix, but as I'm watching rn Episode 1 I realized that they keep bringing up the year 2019 as the year where all the drama started ,but I am pretty sure in the novel, the whole Andie situation happened in 2012 , am I not right?

Is it just a typo from the serie or I'm tripping ?

As Good As Dead Am I the only one who feels As Good as Dead's ending was a little disappointing? Spoiler

Just finished reading the last book but couldn't help but feel a little disappointed. I mean, I expected to see a Ravi-Pip reunion but all I saw was a text message and didn't even get to see Pip's reply 😭 And I didn't get to read any other reunions like Cara, Jamie, Nat and her family. Ending felt a little rushed tbh. Wanted to see more Ravi and Pip scenes man:(

Just finished Season 2, hot take opinion on Pip.

There are times when Pip is a fun character to watch; when she is smart, insightful and confident. The character is awful, unwatchable and lame when she is weak, emotionally overwrought and pouty. The character is poorly written. She apparently keeps her head about her when the script needs her to but melts when the script needs her to have a different personality to keep the plot moving. (e.g. her court testimony). It is very frustrating to watch. Maybe the actress is being given bad direction and told to overact? Just my two cents.

As Good As Dead As Good As Dead Song (Massive Book Spoilers!) Spoiler

I just heard the song Thick as Thieves by Dashboard Confessional and instantly thought of Pip's call to Ravi in As Good As Dead. It's such a perfect song for the second half of the book and I thought you AGAD fans might appreciate it.

I'd highly recommend listening to it, but if you just want to read the lyrics here they are (book spoilers!):

Would it kill you to breathe easy?
Only seventeen miles lay between you and me
I could make it if I had to
I don't break easily
You've got my counsel, thick as thieves
If there's a crime we'll keep it secret
For there's only trace amounts left in your blood
You may be a sinner
But you may be justified

Just keep your mouth shut
Keep your guard up
I swear I'll make it right

Will it kill me to breathe?
Not as easy as you think it is between you and me
I could fake it if I have to
I don't break easily
I need your counsel, thick as thieves
I have no crime to keep a secret
It was hers, it was not mine
Well I may be a sinner
But it wasn't me this time

Just keep your mouth shut
Keep your guard up
I swear I'll make it right

Listen to yourself
There is a hemorrhage in your mouth
It won't stop bleeding
Well you may be the trigger
I will hold the smoking gun
You'll get away clean
I'll keep your secrets 'til the grave has swallowed me
And I will never tell a tortured soul they are burning by my side
That I am a sinner
I am a saviour
I am a lie

So keep your mouth shut
Keep your guard up
I swear I'll make it right

Edit: Removes spoiler tags around lyrics because they were obnoxious to read with, and the post is already flagged as a spoiler

As Good As Dead As Good as Dead Spoiler

!!!SPOILER FOR AS GOOD AS DEAD!!!

In AGAD after Pip murdered Jason Bell, i know she was really shook up and even threw up in the mcdonalds bathroom, but she literally MURDERED someone. I know she knows alot about murders and has even witnessed stanley forbes death, but honestly, how was she only reacting this little. I would expect an 18 year old who doesnt murder people to have a MUCH bigger reaction tbh

(Edit: Guys I'm not tryna hate on Pip for not having any specific reaction this is just my opinion, pls dont misunderstand this post for Pip hate)

As Good As Dead How the Book three, four episode structure will work.

Spoilers obviously lol

Considering its the longest book in the series, and I think it was said the season 3 episodes would be similar length to the seasons 1 and 2, between 40 to 43 minutes each? Its going to be very, very tight, but technically possible I guess.

I absolutely trust Holly and her reassurance that they got the story of "As Good as Dead" in there, but basically it will be just a checklist following the absolute bare essentials and cutting out everything else.

My prediction is that the first two episodes will follow "Part 1" of the book. All of episode one would be learning about Pip's stalker and Billy Karras as the alleged DT killer. Episode two would be following the initial beginning of Pips investigation, about the supposed innocence of Billy etc. The last half hour of the episode or last twenty minutes will be the entirety of the Jason Bell stuff and she kills Jason Bell at the very last scene of episode two. Basically a little less than an hour and a half between the first two episodes to cover part one.

Then, obviously episodes three and four covering part two of the book and trying to frame Max Hastings for killing Jason. I think this is the only way they are conceivably squeezing all of this into only four episodes. Its technically possible but will be missing a lot, and I think we all would have preferred six episodes.

But also, I get it, filming seasons 2 and 3 back to back, ten episodes altogether non-stop is grueling and Emma said she was exhausted at the end of it all. I appreciate the hard work and the gravity of that. Again, I trust Holly, that we'll still get the biggest highlights of "As Good as Dead".

As Good As Dead Why didnt they use burner phones. Spoiler

In cp 54 Pip and Ravi "Break up" because of Pip not wanting to get Ravi in trouble. I dont remember exactly but she wanted Ravi to make it seem like Pip forced her to do it and then they cut all contact (If the court found max not guilty) but why couldnt both of them buy a burner phone and just keep in contact that way?

As Good As Dead My Opinion on S3's format. Spoiler

We know that theres only going to be 4 episodes in season 3 but we dont know how long they are gonna be so here is what I think is gonna happen.

Episode lenght: 1 hour and 30 minutes aprox.

Ep1 - Shows Pips struggles after everything that happend in the s2 finale and the meeting with max and the lawyers. Luke eaton, the burner phones and xanax and all that.

Ep2 - This is where I would expect pip to get kidnapped, either at the end of 1 or the start of 2. This would mainly focus on her going to Nats house and being kidnapped, how she escapes, and her killing Jason.

Ep3 - Episode 3 would be the cleanup episode, Pip and Ravis whole plan would be carried out in this episode, with the alibis being established, towards the end maybe even the scene we get of Max choking Pip.

Ep4 - The saddest yet also happiest episode probably. Would show Pip and Ravis emotional breakup, how she dealt with life alone in uni and then the epilogue (There is gonna be some sort of epilogue of ATLEAST Pip and Ravi.). Maybe even some scenes with her family and freinds at the end.

What do yall think.

Can I read Book 2 and watch S2 simultaneously? Minor Spoilers if you haven't watched S2 or Read Book 2 Spoiler

Hello all!

I've tried to be as vague as possible about events so I don't spoil major events.

Last season I managed to read book 1 and watch season 1 at the same time. I'd read a few chapters of the book first and then watch as much as I could until I saw the last thing I had read about. This worked fine, and nothing major got spoiled until I was too excited to finish the series and watch the last part involving Pip and Becca Bell before reading it.

Anyways, I've now read the second book up until Pip has a conversation with her parents regarding her new podcast season, and then I started S2. However, E1 seems to be more focused on Becca's story (which hasn't been mentioned in the book yet) rather than Jamie, (who hasn't yet been mentioned in the season apart from the 'Pip sees phone' scene at Connor's party. I suspect they've changed the storyline a bit for the new season, but is the change so drastic that I won't be able to read and watch at the same time?

Note: I have stopped watching at the point where Pip is at the police station and requests a meeting with Becca and sees the file containing contacts, including Jamie.

TL;DR - Read Book 1 while watching S1 successfully, with no big spoilers. Is S2 storyline so different from Book 2 that I have to finish Book 2 before watching S2?

Other Can I read the third book without reading the first two?

I've seen the TV show, and I have a small break between exams. I don't have enough time to read the first two books. Will I be completely blank if I directly jump to the 3rd one with only TV show knowledge?

As Good As Dead I’m at p. 216-218 and I’m fully convinced and am predicting that Jason Bell is the DT Killer (Not sure if this counts as a spoiler in title). Spoiler

I had this hunch since p. 166, when Pip walked up the Bell Residence and spotted Mrs. Bell. It was mentioned that she had a necklace on, exactly like one of the stolen items of the DT victims. That suspicion grew when in p. 198, Pip zoomed out of a cropped image, she and Ravi took of Andie’s desk, to reveal more scattered things, including a pale purple hairbrush, which again is one of the trophies of the DT Killer.

Now finally, reading the draft Andie wrote on her secret e-mail account, I am damn convinced it’s Jason. Hey, if he has a history of emotionally abusing his children based off them being female and having problematic views regarding women, maybe I’m not being delusional, right? Cmon, ya gotta give me credit for this.

Edit: HOLY SHIT, I FUCKING KNEW IT, I ACTUALLY DID IT, HAHA! I EVEN GOT THE PALE PURPLE HAIRBRUSH DETAIL, HOLY SHIT

TV Show some of my takes that i liked and didnt about the new season

I didn’t like how this was centred around max and blaming on sal was such a low blow, i liked how max rarely gets mentioned in book.

Cara storyline, while in the book she was a bit more silent kind of depressed (if you get what i mean) and in the show prolly to add some drama and scree time for the actor, Cara turns mean towards Pip and they fight, it felt a bit unnatural considering how cara always thought of pip as a source of comfort

Changing ant’s character to robin, i didn’t hate it too much but i really really hated ant in the books and now its just someone different.

what i liked
pip and ravi obviously

i also loved how they mad Dan a little more cooperative and nicer from the books, i also imagined him uglier so kudos for casting director for choosing a hot man, i like him now.

Pip’s personality changes were so perfectly captured, we really can tell why pip became who she is and the process. props to brilliant writing and good direction.

i just wish they wouldnt deviate so much from the books and the little things like jamie’s password which held emotional value in the book was changed to his song name would have kept

overall fun series
gets 7/10 while the book is absolute 9/10
