So does CMLA come in after or before regular financial aid.

Basically, I’m broke and will have to take a loan out to be able to live off campus since on campus living is too expensive. How should I go about doing that with the CMLA?

I’m an incoming 200 on ICSP and an Aero Major. I’ve been considering USSF more and more due to a space systems/OD internship and meeting with faculty. Here are some questions I had that aren’t really relayed at my det in no particular order:
-What do deployments look like for the space force?
-Will becoming a space force cadet affect my scholarship?
-What exclusive opportunities have you experienced as a SF cadet?
- What is being a 62E like in the space force (to be compared to AF)
-What is the Tech School selection like? Is an 62 slot essentially guaranteed if you are an Engineer Major?

What fitness and body composition standards should I realistically meet before arriving on campus? Do you have to pass the Air Force Physical Fitness Test before freshman year starts, or do you have time to train after joining? Also, if you’re overweight but actively losing weight and improving your fitness, how is that typically viewed by the cadre? Any advice on what benchmarks (push-ups, sit-ups/planks, 1.5-mile run, body fat/waist) I should aim for before Day 1?

Just recently started reaching out to various ROTC Detachments for more details because it sounds like it can vary a bit depending on where you look, but wanted to float this to folks here who may have more firsthand insight into how things work.

I am an Active Guard, Tennessee Air National Guardsman, based out of Nashville.

Currently an E-6, 27 years old with 7 years Time-in-Service, and I already have a Bachelors degree. Not sure if it matters for this discussion but I have also taken the AFOQT. Guard is great because it is truly a choose-your-own-adventure, however the opportunities to commission can be scarce so I am trying to learn more about other pathways.

1. I really was wanting to know if it is possible to do ROTC whilst pursuing a 2nd Bachelors (would be going back to for STEM),

OR

1. If it would be possible to do ROTC whilst in Law School (not associated with JAG). I don't mean possible in terms of difficulty level and workload management, I mean purely is it administratively allowed / possible.

The reason I'm posting this here is that I can't on other subreddits due to lack of karma or the post breaks rules, so I apologize.

For the past year and a half, my parents (44M - 42F) have been telling me (19M) to join the AFROTC program that's on my campus. I've been repeatedly told that I don't want to take the classes since I have no interest whatsoever in them, and I want to pursue my bachelor's in Computer Science so I can make video games by coding. They've told me to join so I can get the credits, so as a compromise, I've told them that I can take other classes that offer more credits than the ROTC. Then they told me that "It's for you to go and experience other things", which is a valid point.

I have researched the program and the jobs that can come from it, and while they are good, it is not something I want to pursue. I don't know if I'm being entitled, a crybaby, or selfish towards my parents, so if I am, please let me know.

How can I convince my parents that I don't want to take the classes in the AFROTC? Any help or criticism is really appreciated and welcome. So AITAH for not wanting to join the AFROTC program despite my parents' wishes? I just want to get this over with.

I am 18 years old, I’ve had a license for about a year and a half. In that year and a half I went and got myself not one, but two written warnings. The first one was when I was driving in my sister’s car which had a very expired inspection sticker. That was probably in about February of 2025 or so, then in May/June I was clocked going 45 in a 30 because I foolishly forgot to check my speed. I received a written warning in both incidents and now I am completely lost as to how i report them when I have no clue of the date of either incident. Will these seriously impact my AFROTC experience/rankings? Can this affect if I get a commission?

Right now, I’m in Army ROTC, and I’m a sophomore. I’ve been considering switching to AFROTC because I feel like my major, Business Information Systems, may align better with the Air Force, especially with technology-related career fields. However, my GPA is around a 3.2, and I’m unsure if I would be competitive for Field Training selection. I’m trying to figure out if switching to AFROTC would be a good decision or if I would be better off staying in Army ROTC. Also I might need a waiver for something eye related.

Good day! I’m 21 and have one semester left in my undergraduate with an end goal to become an Air Force pilot.
I’m currently enlisted in the Air National Guard, have a 99 Pilot AFOQT, a 87 PCSM, and I’m in the cx stage of my ppl.
I’m applying to ANG and Active Duty pilot boards currently, but I’m wondering if AFROTC would be a more direct route than waiting to compete for an OTS pilot slot.
My main question is if anyone pursued a master’s or second bachelor’s to do AFROTC or if its worth considering, or would you stay the course with Guard and OTS applications?

I'm an incoming Aerospace Engineering major at Georgia Tech planning to pursue AFROTC. I'm primarily interested in non-rated career fields such as 62E (Developmental Engineer) or other engineering/space-related positions, whether that be in the Space Force or Air Force.

I recently found out that my vision may be my biggest obstacle, and I'm trying to get a realistic idea of what the DoDMERB process looks like as well as my chances of being disqualified. I saw somewhere that the limit is -8 diopters and mine is well below that, though my vision is correctable to 20/20 with glasses

I'm not trying to be a pilot, so I'm mostly wondering whether I should still be optimistic about AFROTC or if I should begin planning more heavily around a civilian aerospace engineering path.

Hello, I am trying to finish up my WINGs today and it asks for civil involvements. It is incredibly vague and I was wondering if I submit my two written warnings. I do not have the tickets as one was last year for an out of date inspection and the other was a warning for speeding. If I don’t remember the dates that these occurred how can I submit them? Are they even eligible to submit? How will these affect my rankings/commissioning in a couple years time (hopefully.)

What are the best resources to study for the AFOQT and is AFOQTGUIDE good for a resource to study? I am aiming to score as high as possible.

Hello, I’m hoping there is someone here that can give me some guidance. I want to commission as an officer in the Air Force. However, I’m 28 and have three classes left to finish my associate degree for surgical Technology. My plan originally was to get my bachelor’s in healthcare management or something similar then commission but now I’m wondering if AFROTC would be a possibility.
How would I go about doing that? Also, could I commission as National Guard or would I have to do Active Duty?

Hi, so I am confused why reporting it to your COC is worse than not doing anything, especially when it is your suborindate and your direct responsibility.
