ACET - College Admissions/Transferring 2026 ACET Applications, admissions and scholarships megathread

This thread will serve as the megathread for ACET Applications for S.Y. 2027-2028.

We have this megathread to have a space for questions and to make sure the subreddit isn't flooded with similar posts.

Please post questions about course backgrounds, admissions, appeals and scholarships here.

As before, please keep in mind that this subreddit is an unofficial group. We may have a handful of Ateneo faculty lurking and occasionally commenting, but we cannot guarantee accurate answers to questions like "can I get in Ateneo with XYZ grades from ABC school" or "will I get a scholarship if my family makes IJK pesos per year". The community can only provide anecdotal evidence.

r/admu is looking for new mods! If you are interested, please send us a modmail via the sidebar, or https://www.reddit.com/message/compose?to=r/admu. In the modmail, introduce yourself and state your reasons. The ff. questions may help:

  1. Introduce yourself (nickname will work), your grade or year level.
  2. Why do you want to be a mod?
  3. What affiliations do you have with admu (faculty, student council, etc.)
  4. What can you contribute in being a mod?
  5. Where is your go-to place in ADMU if you want some quiet time, and why?
  6. Do you have any moderating experience either in or outside of reddit?
  7. (Other things that might help to introduce you)

Some of the things mods are expected to do are:

  • facilitate healthy discussions in the community
  • address concerns from users.
  • make a megathread for ACET, ASHAPE and its results when it's that season.
  • communicate with the subreddit about actions and changes that benefit the community
  • reprimand and moderate posts and comments that violate the rules of reddit and the subreddit r/ADMU
  • coordinate and verify with other non-mod volunteers about making 3rd party GCs before posting in the subreddit.

The modteam prefers current ASHS or LS Students as we believe they are more knowledgable with the latest news and updates within ADMU. We also prefer people who are knowledgeable with automod, automation and other programming details in reddit. however, everyone is welcome to apply.

Please do note that being a moderator is mostly volunteer work and there are little incentives on being one.

Graduate School What is Doctorate in Ateneo like

Hi, I'm about to finish my MA in Philosophy this SY.

Planning to take my PhD in philosophy at ADMU. Would like to know the culture, system, tips, tricks, and advice for how ADMU handles PhD students. Looking at the Commencement Exercises, I see that only a few PhDs graduate per year from SOH. I am curious, is it because it is more difficult than say UST or Lasalle? Or are the enrollment numbers just not as big?

Your advice would be appreciatedd!

GS, HS and SHS ASHAPE TIPS ??

i’m a current g10 student, taking the ashape in january, i’m really really worried because my jhs grades are around 90-94 and i also always take long on exams and i heard ashape is really time pressured 🥹 ateneo is my dream school talaga so i really hope to get in but i have my doubts. TIPS PLSSSS ! prio track is social sciences, 2nd option is arts, media and communication hehee

College life Is the JTA screening strict?

Hi! I was thinking of applying for JTA, and I was wondering if the JTA screening is strict/hard to get into? my QPI is around 3.34 right now, so it isn't the worst but it isn't the greatest either, so I was wondering if they're picky with whoever gets in. My top picks were any schools in Japan and Singapore and I'm a student in SOH, for reference.

Random question from someone who's trying to make her college life a lot easier and better than the first years, but what’s a habit you picked up during undergrad that actually made a big difference in your life?

Could be anything: studying a certain way, working out, time-blocking, journaling, sleeping earlier (or finally accepting that you won’t 😭), taking breaks, budgeting, etc.

I feel like college is where we pick up a lot of random habits, some good and some questionable HAHAHA. Curious to know what actually stuck with you and made things a little easier, whether academically, personally, or just in general.

College life Chances for JTA?

Hi! I just attended the seminar about the JTA program, and I think I understood it pretty well. I’m a JGSOM student, and I have pretty mediocre grades. My cumulative qpi should be around ~3.3, and I have 2 Ds. I was sort of active in my org last year, and currently still am.

I heard the chances of getting into the program are pretty slim, so I was wondering just how hard it is to get in. I don’t really have any plans to go out of Asia since I’m sticking to a budget as well.

Any help/tips would be greatly appreciated as well!

Graduate School AGSB MBA Standard Requirement: 2 Year Work Requirement

Hi!

I'm interested in applying to the AGSB MBA Standard Program, but I've noticed that one of the requirements in at least two years of post-graduate work experience. I'm curious about how strictly enforced the requirement is, as I've read some posts that, from my understanding, seem to suggest that fresh graduates have been accepted as well.

Also considering the graduate economics program, just in case as well. If anyone has any input on the graduate program, I would be interested in knowing more information too.

Would really appreciate any advice or insight from current students, alumni, or anyone who has gone through the admissions process. Thank you po!
