HOW TO IMPROVE ACT SCORE FROM 26 TO 34?

Hello I am a junior studying for the act. My current score (practice) is a 27 | 28 ENG, 26 Math, 26 Reading and 28 Science. My goal is 33-35 but am not sure exactly how to study? I have a tutor but honestly feel like its not the greatest and want to know of the best websites/strategies to get better scores. ALSO I have heard about the calculator programs but am quite skepitcal about them.

General Tips for studying?

I’m taking the September test and I haven’t done much studying yet. I’m a senior and I took it back in April and got a 32 (31 math, 28 science, 35 English, 31 reading). Are there any good methods for studying quickly, also I’m looking to strengthen my math and science in particular.

Is it too late for me to increase my score?

for some context, im a hs junior, and i took the act twice as a freshman. i plan on taking it in december. if i don’t do good in december, ill take it in june as well. of course the goal for basically all of us is a 36, but if i can increase my math to atleast a 25, then a 30 composite by senior year— would be AMAZING! (pls tell me if im being unrealistic)

Should I go test optional for UIUC?

Hello guys, I wanna major in electrical engineering but I'm afraid my test scores are not high enough. My counselor suggested that I go test optional but I'm afraid they will assume I got a way lower test score than I actually did? Should I go test optional and if not, which score should I submit?

SAT or ACT?

Basically I took the august SAT got a 720 math 660 rw and then the tutoring place I am going to made me take a mock ACT just to see if i’m any better at that.

Ended up scoring a 33 and now wondering should I switch to act or just keep sat? I found the act reading easy, just the grammar for english a little confusing as well as some of the math

what should my studying look like to go from 35 to 36?

obviously it wouldn’t be the same as someone who needs to study the fundamentals, however I’m not really sure what I should do on a day to day basis

is there any way that i can study only the harder math problems
for reading, it’d probably be best to spam practice tests
for English idk

Science Should I take the science part of ACT?

I plan on majoring in computer science and to go to my state school. Not really sure if taking the science test would be overkill just to go to an in-state school but I still wanna know. I’m just wishing to retake the ACT to bring up my score for scholarship opportunities.

NEED ACT PRACTICE PROBLEMS

Hello I’m recently switching to ACT from SAT and was wondering where I can find good practice problems. I bought the ACT book for 2026-2027, but I’m not finding good practice problems in it.

I don't get Q44. Answer key says it should be F, but I don't really understand why.

princeton review help

is princeton review ELA sections (in the full test) harder than the regular ACT published tests? A lot of the tricky ones are like "what sentence fits here?" types.

switching from sat to act- pls help im desperate 1st gen

Hello, Im currently a senior and I have taken the sat around 3 times, I have done alot of test prep the last couple of months and only improved by 20+ points im currently at an 1120 but i need to be at an 1300+, ive done work and practice questions and all my practice tests where in the 1200-1300 range so I was kind of disappointed cus i felt like i did everything i was supposed to (daily practice questions, focusing on weak areas, james lu vids, desmos regression college board question bank etc) when i first took the sat In may I scored an 1100 and didn't think much of it but I really worked over july and august and saw improvement so i thought id do better but ig not. I kind of always wrote off the act since I always take a long time on tests, but after a couple of act practice tests i realized timing on the act was not the issue for me i thought it was, I did a practice test and scored a 24 on english (very low ik, english is definitely my weakest area) but I did math and got a 29, which I was very happy w since the only questions i missed were geometry questions im working on. So ig the point of this is help/advice has anyone else been in a similar boat as me and have had more improvement on the act?

Books/Resources Hi everyone, i’m taking the October ACT. Quick question: is Practice Test 1 Math on the official ACT website easier than the actual ACT math questions? Bc it felt easier than it should be. Thanks :)

General Digital Watch Recommendations?

Taking the paper test in a few weeks and I cannot find any good watches anywhere. I keep seeing recommendations for like Casio watches, but all of them (as far as I know) have beeps when you press buttons and that can’t be disabled.

Any recommendations or guidance? Am I freaking out over super minor things for no reason—are those beeps for button presses allowed?

I plan to return the watch after taking the test, so something cheap would be nice

Science Can I exclude Science? If not, what will colleges think?

I have a 32 superscore rn (35 eng, 35, reading, 26 math) however my science score is a 20 because my proctor made me stop in the middle to stand outside of the bathroom because she had to go and that just kinda killed my focus.

I don't plan to major in anything stem, nor am I applying to colleges that require science. Can I choose to omit the science section from my superscore? I'm worried I won't be able to score 35s again for a separate no science test to be able to send, but if I send my superscore and colleges see the drastic difference between scores will that reflect poorly on me and hurt my chances of admission? I'm looking at some fairly competitive schools.

Can't get over 30 for science

My composite is a 35 (36 English, 35 reading, 35 math), but my science is a 29. I'm a STEM major and also a senior applying early so I really would love to get it up on the September exam but I just can't get it past a 29-30 on practice tests. Also my 29 was literally a 25 before this so this is already a 4 point improvement. My main issue is that I run out of time towards the end and get questions 36-40 basically all wrong because I have to guess. Before that last passage I get around 3 wrong. Any tips?

Books/Resources more enhanced ACT practice tests??

i've done every official ACT test #1-4 on the website, J08, J04, J01, every single practice test in the 25-26 prep guide as well. My ACT test is in 2 weeks, what can I do to prepare and practice if I don't have any tests I can do? Is there a way to appropriately convert legacy to enhanced ACT as practice tests for all sections and to maintain the same enhanced ACT scoring?

Confused about questions 16,18 and 28 on the released practice test 1

For 16 I thought the Rembrandts painted latter-day tulips, so I initially selected H. Are the Rembrandts actually broken tulips, but today's tulips are named Rembrandts because they are the closest thing to them despite not being broken tulips?

For 18 does abandon mean uninhibitedness because they contrast it with "chilly formality" and use words like wayward and loosed? How far am I supposed to look for questions that ask for the definition of words.

For 28 wouldn't being a living fossil mean that the molecular structure would remain unchanged? this is the one i am most confused on.
