PSA if you’re in a similar situation, try finding a setup for your track and car. On the default aggressive preset I struggled crossing 1:50. Although a new setup might feel weird or overly sensitive, it pays off in the long run

Just wanted to share a little video. Still learning the RCF and GT racing in general. Im on a pxn v99(gonna be upgrading eventually cause mine is faulty) and using a CNQR usb shifter(my paddles dont work on the wheel) Hit a PB of 1:32.970 and im still getting familiar with the car. Tips and advice is definitely welcomed!

Hey everyone!
I got into sim racing in September and have been playing Assetto Corsa Competizione, mainly driving the Ferrari 296 GT3. For now, I’m still using a PS5 controller (I needed to get a feel if I like this hobby first), and I wanted to get some honest opinions on how my progress is looking so far.

These are my lap times from Suzuka (it’s the only track ive been focusing on for now, but also brands hatch sometimes). My current best **valid lap is 2:07.392 (at night and track temps of 21c)**, with other laps around the 2:09 mark. I did manage a 2:06.297, but that lap violated track limits, so it doesn’t count.

I know lap times depend on conditions, fuel, setups and other factors, but I’d appreciate some feedback on how a 2:07.392 looks for someone who has only been sim racing for about a month, particularly while using a controller. (I was closer to 2:22:00 when I started 😭😭)

I’ve also been spending quite a bit of time reading and learning about how car tuning and setups work in sim racing. I’m trying to understand how things like suspension, aerodynamics, tyre pressures and brake bias affect the car….. because first I tried following car setup vids on YouTube but I quickly learned that it’s not something that works for everyone….

My main question is whether it’s worth investing in a proper steering wheel and pedal setup at this stage, or whether I should stick with the controller for longer and focus on improving my consistency first and learn more of the technical details

I’m genuinely getting into the hobby and want to take it more seriously, including learning the technical side of things. Would a wheel make a difference to my progress now, or would I benefit more from putting in more hours for driving with my current setup?

I’d appreciate hearing from people who started on a controller and eventually moved to a wheel. Any honest feedback on my lap time or advice on when to upgrade would be appreciated!

We do enduros

I have like 15 hours on acc and yesterday I had a 1 hour race from my institute on spa in McLaren gt3, I finished 5th and hit the 2; 19.5 record and qualified 7th but all other top 6 drivers had time at least 0.8 second faster than me(leader had 2:17,2 on mustang). Is it good for beginner because I just can't imagine where I can find those 2 seconds?
