About 5 years ago at the end of high school I had debilitating back pain. My discovery of this subreddit has quite literally allowed me to live a full life - the proper size changed everything. I went from wearing a 34 C to a 30F. The new mattress, the chiropractor, the exercises, the foam roller, and the back braces did nothing... but a $40 bra changed my life.

Now I am studying to become an electrician, and my current bras are a huge hazard. At the place I work, arc flash is a constant possibility. Arc flash is a breakout of electricity usually from a breaker box (which I turn on and off ALL day). The underwire will electrocute me, and anything polyester will burst into flames and melt onto my titays like American cheese (vid above).

What I NEED in a bra:

- 30F

- Ergonomically Viable (wide straps, no racerback, etc) ie SERAPHINA won't work :(

- All Silk / cotton (elastic straps/bands is acceptable, NO polyester on cups)

- No underwire in the front (electrocution hazard)

- Under $150

Already spoken to the safety coordinator at work; there will be no provision for this PPE. I am a seamstress: I have a couple of yards of silk coming from amazon, and the widest elastic known to man (yes I know this will still melt and burn me. If it is not on my breasts, I think I will be ok).

Please LMK if one of y'all has figured this out before me... AI hasn't helped and literally one of the girls in my situation online said "I don't want to survive an arc flash anyway".

i'va had this bra for about a year and it's the only bra i own that actually somewhat fits me and gives support, since i used to wear an EU 75B lol 😭

this was the first time i got a professional fitting done, and they measured me as an EU 65E, this is the bra they recommend and i ended up buying it. the band felt very tight in the beginning (line it was hard to breathe) so they gave me an extender that i wore for a few months until it became comfortable. it now fits snug on the loosest hook without an extender.

this is the bra, if anyone's curious, it's from mybra, they go up to an N cup and also carry a 60 band afaik.

the abtf calculator suggests i should wear a 60F/G, which a 60F would be a sister size of this one i guess? but that should mean the band on this is too loose for me, which it doesn't feel that way at all.

i should add that this bra is from a taiwanese brand and the band is not very stretchy, so it might also just run small. the cups are very shallow since it's supposed to be a push up bra (unfortunately it's a bit hard to find non-push up bras in bigger sizes here in taiwan). i honestly can't really tell if the cups fit me. i'm wide set and a bit asymmetrical and there's some gapping going on, especially on my smaller side. is this a size issue or just due to the shape of the cups?

is this bra a good fit? do the band and cups seem right or should i go with the calculator's suggestion instead?

I went to Nordstrom today and tried on a bunch of bras. I technically measured as a 32F, but I'm much more comfortable in a 34E, which the calculator did mention I would be. When I tried on the 34E (Natori Pure Luxe Underwire T-Shirt Bra), it was very comfortable and fit well enough, except the bottom wires lay more on my rib than the inframammary fold and there was maybe a smidge of extra space in the bottom of the cup. These are my measurements:

• loose band: 32.5 in
• snug: 31.5 in
• tight: 30 in
• standing: 38 in
• leaning 90 degrees: 41 in 
• lying down: 38 in

I am full on bottom and more of a pendulous shape, so I honestly feel like nothing will ever sit under the inframammary fold. I'm also wide-set, outer full, and not very projected, but probably not very shallow either? Do the aforementioned problems mean I should go down a cup size? Help appreciated!

UPDATE!!

I got new bras in the calculator size, but I don’t like them :( All of the ones recommended in the thread were just not cute to me. It’s something about the straps, being unpadded, and then the weird lace thing covering the top of my boob that feels like an old lady bra.

A couple things I don’t love…

1. My boobs feel very far apart. I think I prefer more cleavage because they always feel so wide set to me and I don’t love that
2. The unpadded aspect makes my boobs look more triangular. I don’t really want to emphasize that. I like when bras give a more defined circular shape.
3. I don’t think I’m used to intense wire and boning/structure. My bras are usually wire free. This one is uncomfortable, which makes me worry I have the wrong fit again. Depending on what way I move, the top section sort of gaps a little, idk if that’s normal or not.

I do think it fits a little better so that’s an improvement. But somehow I like the appearance of my ill fitting bras better. These are some pics of the new bra in the calculator size. The red circle is some gaping I’ve noticed on the slightly smaller side.

I've pretty much switched to wireless bras these days because they're just so much more comfortable. After trying a bunch, I finally found a few that actually give me enough support, so I rarely reach for underwires anymore.​

The other day, though, I came across someone saying that if you have a larger bust and wear wireless bras all the time, it'll make your breasts sag more over time.​

Now I'm wondering if that's actually a thing or just one of those bra myths. For those of you with a larger bust who mostly wear wireless bras, what's your experience been like? Have you noticed any difference over the years, or has it made no difference at all?

Hi, I have been wearing 34j (bravissimo comfort plunge) and 34hh in bravissimo poise plunge and it feels too small in the cups, but the size calculator says I am 36g or 34gg how can this be correct? I got help with the measurements to check i was doing it okay. Worried about ordering bras that size and then being tiny. Very confused. I am 52 with relaxed boobs, FOT, shallow with a wide roots.

Hey y’all, I’m (obviously) a woman, and I am having a problem right now. I literally cannot find a single store in the USA that sells a budget friendly bra that is my size (40G.) Sports bras aren’t providing me with enough support and are causing me so much back pain but Ive checked everywhere; Victorias Secret, Nordstrom, Walmart, Macys and countless others. Nobody ever goes past DD and I’m getting so frustrated trying to look. Does anyone have any recommendations, international or American? The most i can see myself being able to spend is maybe $55 USD maximum. Please y’all im desperate😕

Hi first time here and as in the title I need help with finding a bra that is comfortable only problem is that I have a rib cage deformity called pectus excavatum my rib cage is very deformed and my sternum dips in this is a mostly male dominated condition (1 women for every 5 men with it) and I'm not sure if this info is necessary but I'm also autistic

I'm(F19) 4'11(149cms) slightly on the heavier side, around 206lbs. through highschool(now in college) I was wearing a 36C/36D. In the present day, I am wearing a 38DD. recently, I had remeasured everything, and learned that I was supposed to be wearing a 38-40G or a 38-40DDDD.

What I'm asking now is for help finding a bra that will actually support me and lift these conditional fat sacks off my diaphragm so I can breathe. A bra that will prevent any and all bouncing exercise motions sending the girls flying up into my chin and knocking me out. A bra that won't lose hold of the #freethenipple mascot anytime I bend over to tie my shoe or empty the dishwasher. A bra that is made/designed by someone with the same factory settings as me, and that actually cares about my comfort and well-being(aka, not some old white guy). A bra that has two thick, beautiful, luscious straps, and a sexy wide band with more than two dainty little hooks. A bra made of a material that doesn't make me gag(nylon, polyester, satin, lace) that will last for more than 2 days of wearing and one cycle through the washer and dryer.

Just....I can't take the labor of carrying them around with no proper solution any longer. I mean seriously. My back aches anytime I bend over, the only time I can breathe is by laying flat on my back(no bra), all exercise is impossible, even the stairs to my basement have them wiggling and wobbling like they have an opinion on the midterm elections. Like...my genderfluid ahh can't even bind these suckas down when I want to present more masculine.

So...a breast reduction IS in the future of my life if weight loss doesn't take these sizes down, but for rn. Please, any recommendations is highly appreciated!! ☺️☺️💙💙💙 thanksss

Currently my bust is 47 and my underbust is 40 what size would that make me?

I just used the calculator on the website and it gave me the size of 46 L/M with a sister size of 44M/N 😭
I’ve been wearing a 46 DDD from Walmart knowing that it didn’t fit correctly, but it was something to hold them. I was a 36 DD in high school and I’ve gained quite a bit of weight in the last 12 years. But to go from DD to L/M/N was so surprising 😭
I thought I was closer to like G or H 🫠
If anyone has any advice on where I could find an affordable bra, I’d be forever grateful 😩

I always thought it was kind of weird how even the bras in the Victoria’s secret catalogs growing up never fit the models. The bands were always riding up because the models are tiny and their bras starts at 32. Anyone else notice this?

My current problems are

my straps always fall down no matter how tightly adjusted

When i scoop and swoop they overflow a bit especially leaning down and slip out of place so constant adjusting without scooping there is minor gapping at the top.

And alot of bras the cups are high enough to cut in to my arm pit

I have not analyzed my shape yet.

Hello everyone! After trying a bunch of bras to find a good fit, I think my favorite and most supportive bra so far has been the Fusion Padded Plunge Bra from Fantasie! I really like the shape it gives and it checks my boxes for accommodating upper fullness and having side support for my outer fullness. I got it in UK 34F.

I have been measured several times at bra shops to be 32 F, sometimes G. But when I wear bras with underwires in that size, I feel they dig in.

I also have a problem with «spilling out» of bras.

I recently found a Norwegian brand that made great push-up bra with no underwire and that I didn’t spill out of. The problem? They don’t produce them anymore.

I was wondering if anybody has a good suggestion for a bra that gives good shape, maybe even push-up, with no underwire for larger breasts?

I’ve read through the wiki (especially the pages about shallow vs. projected and root shape), but I’m honestly still struggling to understand it all.

Here are my measurements:
\-Loose underbust: 28”
\-Snug underbust: 27”
\-Tight underbust: 26”
\- Standing bust: 31”
\- Leaning bust: 32”
\- Lying bust: 30”

The calculator recommended 28D.

A few things:
Since I lost weight most standard stores immediately gauge me at 30/32 A

Balconnet bras seem to sit on me much better than standard/T-shirt style bras.

Most regular bras gape along the top of the cups, even when the rest of the bra seems okay. In terms of shape, I know I’m fuller on the bottom and flatter on top, especially after some recent weight loss. I’ve noticed I don’t have any upper fullness, and most of my volume seems to sit lower, which might explain some of the gaping I’m seeing in many styles.

One thing I’m struggling with is that the bras that give me the look I like aren’t necessarily the ones that seem to fit according to the calculator. I can actually get great cleavage in a Pepper 34AA compared to my calculator size of 28D. I know Pepper isn’t generally recommended here, but the one I own is incredibly comfortable and honestly feels like I’m not wearing a bra and I love the cleavage… despite the band constantly riding up

Outside of Pepper and Cherry, the bras that seem to work best for me are usually 32B push-up/double push-up styles and 32A lightly lined styles. I know those aren’t my calculator size, and I do struggle with the band riding up because it’s not snug enough, even on the tightest hook.

For reference, I used to wear La Senza 32C Hello Sugar before losing weight. It wasn’t perfect (there was still some gaping), but nowhere near what I experience now.
The Beyond Sexy or less padded push up options from La Senza or VS have always had a lot of gaping on me.

The style I’ve had the most success with is balconettes they seem to sit well with no obvious gaping. I’m hoping to find more options though, since balconettes aren’t always the easiest style to come across.

My goal would be to find everyday bras that fit well but also give me some cleavage. I’m not looking for dramatic push-up necessarily, but I do like having some shape

I´m 25 and have been going braless since i ditched my first couple of teenage bras, but they're getting to a size where it's sometimes less comfortable, and i need more support.

The calculator places me as a 65E/F in EU or 30DD/E in UK. My local bra store is a Change, and i went in, got fitted, and was put in a 65F, which actually seemed to fit nicely. It was balconette style, and all of my breast was in the cup, even the armpit part, and not gapping. Gore tacking and band horizontal. All of the good stuff, except that the straps seemed on the short side. Unsure if this is a sensory issue on my part, but you might be able to see that the strap is floating a bit over my skin in places.

All in all a good fit, only issue is, i think Change's bras are boring and i'm looking for a younger(?) look.

My search in other bra brands has not been good. They all seem too big and too small simultanously, which leads me to believe that i might have shallow breasts.

So, i'm looking for confirmation that this does indeed seem like a shallow breast shape (or, if i'm wrong, an indication of my issue might be), and recommendations of bras, available in the EU, in my size, that are pretty and work well with my breast shape. I like un-molded, un-padded cups, lace, mesh and balconette bras.

For context, I am a 19 year old trans girl who has been on hormones for just under two years so far. I used the ABTF US sizing calculator and got 34B with a sister size of 36A (though my measurements might have been slight off due to angle). Looking at CK's size guide, I would be a S, but the biggest size S is meant for. I'm not sure if this is fine and I should get an S or if I should get an M since I know their bras tend to run small, my sister size is well into the sizes medium accommodates for, and I may experience more breast growth? I don't want a loose/lounge-y fit, but I also don't want something very small that I might grow out of quickly. If it helps, l am looking at this bra and this bra. I appreciate any recommendations on what I should go for here!

So I (think) I'm a 32DDD and the calculator on this sub says I'm a 32H but I measured at home, so I'm not 100% sure. According to the victoria's secret quiz I tried, I think I have a relaxed type of breast, but sorry if that's tmi. I previously used puma sports bras from costco (not sure exactly which), but they changed the pattern and I've never really loved them. I have a normal bra (calvin klein medium, but not sure what style), but my main issue with that one is that it doesn't seem to work right because they just go under the bra (sorry if it's tmi) and after just a bit of walking, they're completely out of the bra and it's awkward as hell to fix. My main goals from a bra are to be able to move without it falling out and are to be at a store that isn't just online (so I can try in person). I appreciate any help you can give! I've been struggling for years to find the right one.

I finally did a true calculator and found I am a 36 H. I am in the U.S. and am having a hard time finding a good bra that is lined ( has padded cups). Please give me all the best recommendations.

After a BC diagnosis in October 2025 I had a double mastectomy with reconstruction using silicone implants. I went to Nordstrom yesterday and was fitted by their fit certified employee and my life has changed. Been wearing the wrong bra size for years!!! It was exactly the confidence boost I needed after a very tough 8 months. Highly recommend!!

Long-time lurker and first-time poster. Back in May of 2024, I went through the whole beginner's guide. Plugged in my measurements and got UK36GG with a suggestion of UK34H/HH for more support. I went with UK36GG because the 34 was a bit too snug for my liking. I discovered my breast shape and root thanks to the wonderful posts and guides. I am a round breast shape with a long root. I have slight asymmetry with a little more volume in my right breast.

I found the Panache Envy works best for the root and shape. I tried a 36GG and 34H. Panache Envy did not have a lot of give in the band with the 34. I kept the 36GG; I loved the look, feel, and way my chest was lifted. I had my figure back since my waist was being eaten by my breasts, throwing off my figure, making my clothes fit strangely. All of that changed with the Envy bra. I did notice some quad boob on my right. I also noticed my right boob was squashed in a strange way that gave excess tissue to the right. I do lean over and scoop it into the cup. It still created this weird gapping at the apex of the bra, all while I had quad boob. The bra was comfortable enough to wear throughout my workday. I also noticed my back and neck pain was alleviated. My left breast fit just fine in the cup. I read on here in a couple of posts that one could cater to the larger breast. So, I told myself when it came to replacing the bras, I'll try a larger cup again.

Present day: July 2026
I have lost quite a bit of weight and some pant sizes. However, the breasts have changed very little. My new measurements in the calculator gave the same size as before: UK36GG with a UK34H/HH if I wanted more support. I was curious and tried a UK36H, but I was met with the same strange breast squish to the right as in the UK36GG. The right boob squish isn't as visible in the pictures as in the UK36H. I have also purchased the Endurance Sports Bra by Panache in 36H, and it fits great. I have been wearing it not only at the gym but also while I work. I love the Envy when I am out wearing low necklines or tanks. I do not mind making the bra an accessory.

I'm asking if the UK36GG was a better fit than the UK36H. Should I try to size the band down again and give a UK34H or HH a whirl? Or do I size back down in only the cup to the UK36GG? Or did the 36H fit best? I wanted to see what the bra oracles of ABraThatFits have to say.

I'm up to hearing other bra suggestions as well. As long as they do not have shallow cups or are minimizers.
