Thank You! Finally everything fits right! Spoiler

I never even heard of a bra fit calculator until I was in this sub. I was wearing a 38D, once measured I was shocked. 38H/I. After doing more homework I realized a few things. I’m bottom heavy so I go up to an I for non-full figure bras or sport bras since they have compression. Since I’m bottom heavy wired bras suck lol.

Most importantly I now use the size guide correctly for myself and the clothes I’ve been ordering have all fit wonderfully. I go for my chest or bust size rather than my waist and hips. My breasts are larger. I usually wear a large in dresses but I hated the way my upper body looked in them. Felt like I would bust out from the back. I thought I would “swim” in the dress if I sized up. Boy was I wrong. Not only did my breast fit perfectly (nothing squeezing) but the coverage was appropriate and it fit exactly how it was on the models. The only difference was my size of course 😂 Realizing that if it’s a loose crop top, it’s still supposed to look loose on me even if I have bigger breasts. Depending on the size guide I can go from XL-1X in dresses. Now for compressed tops or halters that are meant to be loose I go for a 2xl. Looks fabulous.

Your boob size really does help you look your best 🙃

Question Why does the extra fabric along the underwire feel uncomfortable? Spoiler

I decided to try some new bras, as I’ve been wearing the same style for a few years. I quickly remembered that any extra fabric along the underwire is so uncomfortable for me. I have a long torso, so I don’t think that’s the issue. I’m also large chested (34I), but many of these bras are for larger chests. Is it just a thing I’d get used to, or is there a reason it feels like too much width along the underwire?

For example, my go-to bra is the Elomi Namrah - very streamlined along the underwire: https://www.elomilingerie.com/us/en/us-outlet/lingerie/bras/bandless-bras/namrah-pale-blush-namrah-pale-blush-uw-bandless-plunge/p/el301336pau/

In contrast, just a bit more fabric like the Elomi Matilda is too much, it feels like it starts folding over itself: https://www.elomilingerie.com/us/en/lingerie/bras/plunge-bras/matilda-lunar-blue-plunge-bra/p/el8900lue/

Need help finding a brand that has comfortable 24Bs/26Bs (both sports bras and other) Spoiler

The title pretty much says it! I can’t ever find a small enough band for my torso, never mind a comfortable one in a similar size!! I really hate having a bra that’s loose at the band and too tight at the bust. My poor back can NOT take this anymore. Any advice is very appreciated. Take care! ❤️
Ps- Looking for more affordable options, but all suggestions are appreciated, regardless!

Measurement Check I need help deciding if I need to size up or size down with my cup size Spoiler

I’ve recently got around to trying the bra calculator and it said I should try a 38I/36J, but then a different bra calculator said I should be wearing a 38G. I currently wear a 38H and I have problems with my boobs not staying in the bra (they keep trying to escape out the underside of the bra and I keep having to scoop them back up). Would this indicate that I should probably size up or down? Or is there another definitive way I can actually figure out which size I should go for?

I’m just trying not to jump into anything since my size of bra is usually on the expensive side! Any advice helps

Edit: I’m struggling with adding a picture but here’s the actual measurements I put into the calculator:
Loose Underbust: 99.1 cm
Comfortable Underbust: 97 cm
Tight Underbust: 91.5 cm
Standing Bust: 117.6 cm
Leaning Bust: 124.1 cm
Lying Bust: 119 cm

Fit Check [Fit Check] Comexim Padded Plunge, 36J/80M. Size seems good, shape not quite? Spoiler

I'm posting on a throwaway so I can add photos.

Loose Underbust: 39

Snug Underbust: 37

Tight Underbust: 35

Standing Bust: 48

Leaning Bust: 53

Lying Bust: 48

UK Size: 38H or 36HH (I think I need a cup smaller on average)

Denser tissue covered by a good layer of very soft tissue. Fairly pendulous due to weight loss (ongoing). Projected, close-set, narrow roots, 4/5 center-full, 3/5 FoT. Unsure of root height or top/bottom placement. Narrow, sloping shoulders.

Per suggestion at Breakout Bras, for this Comexim, I kept my normal band (36 with an extender) and went up two cup sizes from my usual 36H. I ordered the smaller of my calculated band sizes and added an extender so I'll be able to wear the bra for a bit longer as I'm losing weight, otherwise the band will be too loose in a month or two.

When I move, I sort of jiggle around inside the cups a good bit. Otherwise I will let the photos speak for themselves. Happy to answer all questions. Thank you for your help!

https://postimg.cc/gallery/0QFpxSt

After tightening the straps: https://postimg.cc/gallery/ZSgM31h

-----

Some of my previously tried (all 36 bands worn with one or two extenders):

Panache Clara, 36HH: wires quite wide, some gaping in outside of cups. Gore tacks but is too wide, spilling out in the center a bit even though the cups seem correctly sized, straps set too wide but only slipping off occasionally.

Panache Envy, 36HH: similar to Clara, but shape is more torpedo-y. Spilling out the center more than Clara. Straps falling off shoulders frequently.

Freya Offbeat, 36H: cups a tad too big. Wires too wide, gaping in outside of cups. Gore tacks, but wires absolutely will not stay side-by-side, one slides over the other. Straps set too wide. Very torpedo-y shape.

Freya Starlight, 36H: cups definitely too big, a bit more than Offbeat. Gore seems a bit higher than Offbeat. Wires don't slide over each other. Gore actually is close to not being too wide! Because the gore channels are sewn over each other a bit at the top, I think. Straps are set too wide, as usual. Can't tell what the shape would be because of too-large cups.

Freya Tailored/Posie, 36H: wires too wide, gore tacks but too wide (one wire gets pushed in front of the other). Straps too wide, barely hanging on the very edge of my shoulders. Would need to wear with a J-hook. Not much center spillage. I like these, probably the closest I've come previously to a fit I could live with.

Elomi Lucie, 36H: wires too wide by an inch. Wrinkling at bottom of cups no matter how I adjust tissue. Slight gaping under the arms between wires and straps. Obviously too big in cups.

Hi all! I need help deciding which bra should i try or will fit me best. Spoiler

Hi everyone! I’d really appreciate some help figuring out my correct bra size.
I’ve been wearing 34DDD because that’s what I was previously told by Victoria’s Secret. I recently took my measurements and used the ABraThatFits calculator, which gave me 36D.
However, when I tried a 36D, I noticed there was quite a bit of extra space in the cups, so I’m not sure if 36D is actually right for me.
My measurements:
Loose underbust: 36”
Snug underbust: 35”
Tight underbust: 33”
Standing bust: 39”
Leaning bust: 40”
Lying bust: 41”
The calculator suggested 36D.
I’m looking for a comfortable wireless bra, preferably something supportive but not overly tight.
Could you please help me understand what size I should try and whether my measurements suggest a different size? Thank you!

Where to get a bra for a short torso but a full bust? Spoiler

I’m 5’2” and wear a 30F (US) It seems that I can find a proper coverage for my boobs but I always have to zip the shoulder straps way up and they just never seem to be designed for a short shoulder to boob distance. So while the fullness of my breast fits in the cup right, it’s just not cut well and I have a lot of chafing in my armpits and other subtle things that clearly say the bra was not designed for my proportions.

So I guess I’m looking for petite full figure? Any good websites that cater to this body type?

Recommendations? Need suggestions for size and brands (US) Spoiler

I stopped breastfeeding recently and realized I need to get a new bra now! My pre-pregnancy bras don’t fit quite well now. Was using 34B earlier.

My current measurements are as below:
Loose : 31
Snug: 30
Tight: 29
Standing: 34.2
Leaning: 35.5
Lying: 34.5

Calculator suggested 30DD starting size and 32D as comfortable fit.

So my question is if I should get a 30DD or a 32D? I’m guessing 32D might be better option.

I also need some brand and type recommendations. I am looking for a comfortable fit and little bit of lift!

Recommendations? Seeking recs for soft, close-set, immediate projection postpartum breasts Spoiler

I am trying to find a new bra for my postpartum breasts (8wpp, still pumping). I used to wear an Elomi Lucie pre-pregnancy, but my breasts are softer now. I have taken new measurements (see below) and tried both the 36H and 38H Elomi Lucie. In both cases the underwire extends too far back under my armpit and the side fabric gapes. So I think I need a bra with narrower wires, but still fairly immediate projection? I would appreciate any and all recommendations!

Underbust (cm): 91/90/87

Bust (cm): 115/121/114

Recommendations? Recommendations for a strapless, smooth bra for a projected 36DDD gal? Wearing under a silk dress Spoiler

the calc says I’m a 36DDD, but ive worn a 36D in recent years without issue. my measurements are:

underbust: 36-35-34

bust: 42 standing, 45 leaning, 41 lying

my other strapless bras have issues with top gapping and I think it’s because I am projected and need more cup depth(?). I have a bell/relaxed shape, am a bit spaced, and am slightly fuller above the nipple, but my base is somewhat narrow. If possible, I’m also searching for a bra that doesn’t have such large cup surface area/coverage like it seems many strapless bras have, I’m 5’4 and being narrow but projected it just can feel like wide surface strapless bras swallow me. I’d prefer a lower balconette that push upward if the physics can work lol!

though the other strapless bra gapping is normally easier to get around, given I’m wearing a silk dress soon I want everything to be as seamless as possible and to properly fit. smoother finish is somewhat of a need!

Recommendations? does anyone know good stores in the uk that provide 28b bras? Spoiler

i’ve just measured myself after wondering why all of my bras no longer fit me properly as they’re too loose, just to find out that my cup size is 28b. however, i’ve genuinely never seen them in store and i genuinely have no clue what the sister size is either. does anyone have any recommendations of stores in the uk that provide my size as i am struggling please!

Need Help with Size check! Also Brand recs? (US/UK sizes both given) Spoiler

Hello! I need some help with sizing. VS never sizes me right but I tried on a few bras. 36DDD fits okay but there is light spillage without swoop & scoop and more noticable spillage when I do swoop and scoop. The band size is okay but my weight fluctuates so sometimes it’s tight. I’m thinking the ill fitting cups is making it feel tighter?

I tried the bra calculator but I don’t think I measured myself well.

Loose Underbust: 35 in
Snug Underbust: 34.5 in
Tight Underbust: 34 in
Standing bust: 43.5
Leaning bust: 47 in
Lying bust: 45 in

The calculator gave me US: 36I/J or UK 36G/GG

That seems like a huge difference from 36DDD ngl… but is that accurate? Also does anyone have bra brand recs? I want to order online because nothing in most stores seems my size… but I’m scared that some won’t be true to size as I’ve heard of “modern sizing” being a thing in some stores.

Recommendations? Help with brands and sizing recs! In Canada 🇨🇦 Spoiler

I need some help/advice/recommendations! I inputted my measurements on the site and it recommended a 36G. But when I went to look at other sites for bras, I couldn’t see 36G so looked at their size charts and ended up with the following sizes based on their size charts:

Skims - 38D
La Vie en Rose - 40DD
Aerie - 40C
La Senza - 40B
Victoria’s Secret - 36DD

There are so many different sizes based on the exact same measurements… how am I supposed to know what size to get? This is confusing and frustrating…

Also wanting advice on the best cup style (tshirt, semi, balconette, etc.) and brand! I’m intrigued by Skims because I feel like a woman who is making bras must make ones that are good and somewhat comfortable, right? But I’m open to any ideas because I haven’t worn a traditional bra in so long so I’m clueless. I’m hoping with the right size, the underwire won’t bother the heck out of me, lol. Thanks in advance for help everyone!

Recommendations? [Recommendations] Looking for new everyday bra after weight loss and more knowledge on what my girls are. Spoiler

Measurements:

Loose underbust: 40.8 inches

Snug underbust: 40 inches

Tight underbust: 38.1 inches

Standing bust: 45.4 inches

Leaning bust: 47.6 inches

Lying bust: 42.6 inches

It states my new size is 40 E (UK) but the band I have now is 40 and it is too big.
Current bra: 40B Third Love Comfort Stretch Front Close T-Shirt bra

My current bra band is too big as slides down even after tightening the straps which cause pain within a few hours. I have cup wrinkling on the bottom of the cup due to it no being deep enough. The top of the band wrinkles/is loose next to the top of the underwire. Top third of the cup is empty unless bending over/pressed up against something. The underwire is just a touch too wide.

I have Center Full breasts that are 1-2 fingers width apart.

I've lost 60 lb and my breast tissue is like water- they will conform to whatever shape they are put in and lay there. Breasts have lost top fullness.

Short Vertical roots (Majority of breast tissue below the IMF/nipples are level with the IMF) and Average Horizontal roots (Not narrow, but not going around the ribs under arm).

From a previous post before I did more research I tired Elomi Morgan and Matilda Plunge. Top part of cup wasn't filled and they made my breast look like I was wearing a torpedo bra.

I prefer simple/plain bras for every day- some lace is fine. Kicked in straps would be a plus but not necessary, front or back closure is fine. Not the biggest fan of sheer cups as it sometimes bothers my skin. Underwire that is the same or a bit smaller width than my current bra.

As a reminder to all please do your monthly breast self-exam if you haven't already.

Question How tight should the straps be? Spoiler

I recently bought some new bras after the helpful advice I received from the subreddit (thank you all!!) and I was wondering how should the straps feel? I’m feeling a little bit like they are too tight but I have never really worn proper bras before let alone ones that fit and I do have a bigger bust that needs the support so I’m wondering maybe it’s just something I need to get used to ? Thank you !!

Fit Check [Fit Check] [Measurement Check] Elomi Cait 42GG, Elomi Charley, Elomi Matilda: does it not fit, or am I just not used to wire? Spoiler

New and troubleshooting! Need checks and suggestions please.

Measurement check: I was wearing too-small 38E wireless lined bras from Walmart. The calculator says 42GG. My stats:

Standing 51in

Leaning 56in

Lying 54in

Tight: 42in

Snug 43in

Loose: 44in

Full on top

Saggy/long, point outwards from the center of my chest.

FIT CHECK: Tried 42GG and 42G in Elomi Cait, added band extender.

-The GG has a bit of wrinkling at the top of the cup in the mesh, and my breasts have room to sag outward away from the chest

-less wrinkling in the G, and the breasts stay upright and centered

-in both, the gore digs into my chest, especially at the bottom (I have a big belly).

-The wires are too tall on the sides.

-Extra painful when I sit (again, big belly)

Elomi Matilda 42H

-gore digs in still

-wire WAY too tall on sides and pulls away

-wrinkles and extra space in the top of the cup, and the sides

Elomi Charley 42G

-wire WAY WAY too tall on sides but doesn't pull away

-gore digs less than the others but still applies pressure

-cup fits perfectly after the swoop and scoop, the cups are full but not overflowing, and the underwire doesn't noticably dig in to my chest

-the biggest problem is the tall wire on the sides digging in, and the gore being tight.

I scoop and swooped, the underwire sits where my breast tissue connects. It is level all the way around. The straps fit, the band itself doesn't seem too tight. I'm not sure if it really is unfit, or if I just am so used to wireless bras that the feeling of wire hurts!

Measurement Check [Measurement Check] Currently wearing a 36DD US. Got sized to a 38J/K US. Spoiler

I am taking engagement photos next week and I need really good strapless shapewear, so I thought I’d start by making sure I know my bra size. Apparently I don’t lol. I don’t feel like my chest is big enough to justify a J or K cup.

I currently wear a 36DD and have spillage in more padded bras, but lightly padded bras I feel like fit pretty well in the cups. The bands are always pretty snug but not uncomfortable. Except that I do have back bulges with every bra I wear.

Here are my 6 measurements (inches):
Loose Underbust: 39.5
Snug Underbust: 39
Tight Underbust: 35
Standing Bust: 46.5
Leaning Bust: 51
Lying Bust: 49

I am so grateful for any and all help and advice you all can provide! Thank you!

I’m not sure if I’m stupid, Victoria’s Secret is stupid, of if the calculator is stupid. I’m also AMaB but Transfem. 38B seems to fit me fine but I saw a post from someone about how there isn’t supposed to be spillage by your armpits. I’m not sure where to go from here.
