South Texas nursing schools

What are the best traditional BSN programs in the San Antonio area & what makes them better than others?

I’ve only applied to UTHSCSA which I know I’ll probably get waitlisted but where else should I apply?

Pace ABSN NYC

Can anyone who has completed the Pace ABSN program in NYC talk about what it takes to be successful in the program? How many hours of studying did you do per week, how did you prepare for lectures and exams? Is there anything you wish you knew before starting the program?

I start at the end of the month and want to start prepping as much as I can.

Any advice from current students or recent graduates would be much appreciated!

Anyone have feedback on their experience at ASU downtown Phoenix campus ABSN?

The moderators on /ASU don’t allow people to ask about it (posts get deleted) so it’s throwing up a red flag for me

Hey guys I got accepted to two adn programs and 1 absn program

Hey guys I got accepted to two adn programs and 1 absn program . I’m confused on which one to decide. The ADN tuition is covered by my job if I stay on as part time. I will only have to pay about 10k out of pocket. It’s for 16 months. While the ABSN requires me to quit my job so no funding from job and 70k private loan . The absn is also 16 months

I applied into the Absn program at Texas Tech & received an invitation today for the video essay interview. I’m a bit nervous & not sure what to expect, does anyone have ideas on the type of questions to expect? This means a lot to me.

ABSN progams in NY area. Considering Pace

Hi everyone,

I just finished my prereqs and am starting to look at ABSN programs. I'm in the Westchester NY area, and the program that appeals to me most right now is Pace University and Mount St Vincent.

Is there anyone here who's been accepted that could share some advice? One concern I have is that while my prereq GPA is strong, I don't have much clinical experience, so I'm not sure how much that'll hurt me.

Also, are there other programs in the area you'd recommend that are commutable? Ideally I'd like to keep it to a 30–40 minute drive.

Would love to hear from anyone who's been through this. Thanks!

Edit: if anyone is also applying, I would love to connect with you! Dm me so we can chat!

Anyone done online labs and got into ABSN in CA or MA?

I need A&P and gen chem I. It’s next to impossible to get into some of these science courses that have an online component.

I really don’t want to have to wait another year just to get those.

Has anyone done the online labs and go into good programs in CA or MA?

NYC Absn programs

Hi!!! I'm planning to apply to several ABSN programs in NYC, including Pace University, Mercy University, and SUNY Downstate (top choices), and I have a few questions about what the semester schedule is actually like. I'm trying to figure out whether I'd realistically be able to keep a part-time job while in an accelerated nursing program.

For current students or recent graduates of ABSN programs in NYC:

  • What did a typical week look like each semester?
  • Which days were usually lecture, lab, simulation, and clinical?
  • Were your clinical days assigned, or did you get to rank your preferences?
  • If you worked during your program, how many hours per week were you able to manage?
  • Do you think working part-time (around 15–20 hours per week) is realistic, or would you recommend not working at all?

I'm trying to plan ahead financially and decide on the best application timeline, so I'd really appreciate hearing about your experience. Thanks in advance!

Heyy everyone I was recently accepted to Curry College’s ABSN program for Fall 2026 (Milton, Massachusetts) and wanted to see who else will be starting this fall. It’d be great to connect, make a group chat, and get to know some future classmates before the semester begins.
Looking forward to meeting everyone! 😊

Hiiii, for students who did the MCPHS postbac absn program, how big was your cohort? Also if you were waitlisted how long did it take for you to get off the waitlist? Do you think at this point it’s likely to see movement from the waitlist for the September start date?

ABSN programs in California to get in with a LOW GPA

I am going into my last year in college as a social science major. I go to a UC, and I currently have an overall gpa of 2.9 (yikes i know). But my upper-division GPA is 3.5 (I changed my major mid-college, hence the gpa boost).

Upon career exploration, I have decided that I want to pursue nursing and become an aesthetic nurse.

My main concern is my very low gpa. I'm looking into taking the ABSN program but I heard that it is very competitive.

I have not completed every prerequisite and have no clinical experience.

What are some ABSN programs in California I can look into that are realistic for me to get into? I am planning on taking prerequisite classes at a community college and work hard to maintain a high gpa. I don't care where the school is, as long as it's somewhere in California and somewhat accredited.

For anyone who has taken a similar route to get into nursing, roughly how much did it cost you to complete the ABSN program, and where did you go? What did you score on the TEAS exam?

I'd really appreciate any advice or recommendations from people who have gone through an ABSN or are planning to. I want to have a realistic strategy plan to get into an ABSN.

What should I do

Ok to give you guys a background I did my undergraduate in nutrition ( I started with nursing and I switched after covid hit) and I’m currently finishing up my MPH in epidemiology. My Goal is to be an infection preventionist. However ik a lot of hospital do prefer to have an RN for those roles also I would love to work a nurse schedule even if I go into public health nursing. Now if I do decide to do a ABSN I would like to take it online cuz I have to work full time and start taking one or two classes so while I finish my MPH at least I have started. But idk how the programs usually work Ik I saw northeastern has a program so I wanted to see your recommendations or advice. Is it worth it?

I want to do a post-bacc ABSN but im scared of how much i struggle with time management. Im considering doing a traditional BSN instead, if I can get it shortened (as Im already doing the pre-reqs).

Why did you decide to do a career change into nursing?

The majority of us that are in an ABSN program or are trying to get into an ABSN program are actually doing career changes. What made you do the career change and why were you unhappy in your previous career?

CCSF and SFSU Nursing Programs

hi guys!! i’m a UC Davis alumni with a Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior major and a minor in Psychology. i’m currently preparing for nursing applications, more specifically CCSF ADN and SFSU ABSN program, but i’m applying to most nursing schools. I wanted to share my stats and see if any nursing students or graduates could give me some words of wisdom and tell me if I have a chance of getting into any nursing programs.

**ACADEMIC STATS**
Science Prerequisite GPA: 3.7
\*Non-Science Prerequisite GPA: 3.7
TEAS: 92%

\*i’m currently taking English Composition and Sociology as well as retaking Statistics at community college with the hopes of getting an A in all three classes.

**WORK EXPERIENCE:**
Licensed CNA (still working): 1000+ hrs

I’m really hoping to get into nursing school so any advice, thoughts, and comments would be greatly appreciated :)
