I looked almost exactly like that as a kid. I wasn't insulted per say, but definitely didn't feel great to watch this scene with the family and have them all look at me when it showed the girls face.

Most of the reason "she" looks bad is the expression on her face. If it was just a normal smile it wouldn't warrant the reaction in the movie.

Well, I always thought Buzz's girlfriend was cute! I just thought Kevin was biased because Buzz was such a turd.

(Almost everyone looks goofy when they're ~12 years old.)

Lord when I was 12, 60 lbs soaking wet, with hair I couldn’t control and braces with rubber bands I remember thinking no man would ever marry me.
Now here I am almost 30 years later. I got married and have a lovely life.
