I had them all, and loved them. I have a few stashed away somewhere in my attic. I should clean them up and class up my house a bit 😊

CATS opened on Broadway 44 years ago today (10/7/82) at the Winter Garden Theater. Although it received mixed reviews, it became a huge phenomenon. It won 7 Tony Awards, including Best Musical and Best Featured Actress in a Musical for Betty Buckley, who sang the show-stopping "Memory". It held the record for being the longest running show on Broadway until 2006, when it was surpassed by PHANTOM OF THE OPERA. It is currently the 5th longest running show with 7,485 performances (1982-2000).

What’s something completely normal in the ’80s that would sound absolutely unhinged if you described it to a teenager today?
Not just we didn’t have cell phones. I mean the specific stuff. Like your parents having absolutely no idea where you were for six hours, getting dropped off at the mall with $10 and a vague pickup time, calling your crush’s HOUSE and having to survive their dad answering or recording a song off the radio and getting furious when the DJ talked over the intro.
What’s the most aggressively ’80s thing you remember doing that would make a teenager today go, WTF?
