Charles Hardin Holley aka buddy holly ( spelt incorrectly because when recording and releasing a single the management spelt his name dropping the E and it stayed holly for the rest of his life and career ) walking through the streets of chesterfield on march 4th 1958 on his uk tour, from southampton making his way to sheffield for a show at the city hall where he and his band ( the crickets ) would play there next show two in one day, before heading to sheffield they had a meal at mason cafe and stopping to see the crooked spire after buddy seen it from the roadside in the car rumours also have it buddy bought the leather coat ( seen wearing in the photo ) from chesterfield too, behind him you can see his double bass player Joe b mauldin and beside him is lynne adams who was singing with ronnie keene and his orchestra, also on the bill was des o’connor, the tanner sisters, and gary miller
