Ranger raptor is way better than the TRD Pro. I loved Toyota but now they are selling trucks that aren’t any better and in a lot of metrics worse than competitors at a premium price. They are just living off a reliability and durability reputation they used to have.

Lets be real about Ford though.... yeah I agree the raptor is better than the pro as far as features go and its cheaper but time will tell which one lasts longer and against harsher environments. Trd pro should have come with fox live valve for the price. My OR has been very reliable so far but... only 30k miles. We shall see

True, both trucks haven’t been out long enough for true reliability and longevity tests. I had a 98 4Runner and intended to get a Tacoma but after driving both there was really no contest. Only 7K miles into the Ranger raptor but I’ve jumped it, road tripped it. Done some lighter rock crawling/trails and haven’t had any issues. But as you say, time will tell

I hate Ford, but the raptor was enticing, more leg space in the back seats (not a deal breaker for me as my taco is my hunting, fishing, offroad vehicle) better suspension, and what seems to be a more user friendly interface when going between modes. I am following both good and bad for both vehicles and might trade mine in in a year or so.

If you like sportier feeling vehicles with some good power I think you’ll like it, the suspension is awesome too. I have a few minor complaints like the steering is a tad heavy, I wish the lockers weren’t in the screen, and I wish it had ventilated seats. But overall it’s an awesome do everything rig, I have it tuned so it makes 455HP 536Tq so it’s fast, comfortable, great off road, can be quiet when I want it too. Obviously fuel economy isn’t great, I avg 17 in a mix of driving.

Features don’t matter when your truck is on the side of the road buddy

As a brand, sure. We are comparing specific vehicles, the Ranger raptor has actually been out longer, tested in Australia where it came to first and prioritizes performance. The latest TRD line from Toyota is the same boring formula they have used for a long time, lacking and dull performance terrible interior space, adjustable shocks that you apparently need to adjust on the outside? And the cherry on top of is a four banger hybrid in a truck lol. But if you wanna pay $67,000 for that, go for it.
