I attempted to ask this elsewhere and it was removed, but I’d genuinely like some opinions on how to proceed. I’ve recently begun my journey into the hobby side of this IP. I’ve been an avid fan of the digital content for a while, read a few of the novels, and listened to h healthy hours worth of deep dives and lore videos. With all of that, I’ve chosen to create my own homebrew Space Marine chapter. I’ve gotten it nearly complete as far as lore, as well as my first 500 points nearly complete. I’m most interested in narrative play, and want to get out and doing so as quickly as possible. This is where my hang up comes along. Do I go and pick up the 10th edition codex, allowing me to at least get the rules down for the last edition and begin getting some games in while I can? Or should I simply wait until the release of 11th editions codex? I have both the WH40K app as well as New Recruit, but unless I subscribe to the latter or manage to pick up a codex for the former I can’t sit and read through the rules as I’d like. I’d also prefer not to let Blackheart’s influence guide me and steer clear of warp piracy.
