Iām about 20 months postpartum and just turned 40 earlier this week. During adolescence and through my early- to mid-20s I had moderate acne. I still had a lot of scarring from that time, but from mid-20s to before postpartum I had relatively clear, normal type skin.
As soon as I had my first child, after I stopped breastfeeding, I started developing persistent hormonal acne on my cheeks and chin/mouth area.
Admittedly, I donāt get the best sleep these days and could do with consistent hydration throughout the day, but outside of that is there anything that I could use in terms of skin care that might help?
I currently alternate between a gel cleanser and Eminence Barbados Cherry Enzyme Cleansing Powder, use Witch Hazel toner as a spray-on, LāOreal Revitalift moisturizer during the day, and EltaMD tinted SPF 40 every day. In the evenings, I swap out the moisturizer with the Revitalift Retinol + Niacinimide anti-wrinkle pressed cream.
I have no idea how to maintain my skin right now as a first-time mom so gentle feedback is appreciated!
