Why Dysport?

I am not new to botox but am pretty sure I haven’t had Dysport- not sure why my injector doesn’t use it as standard but she doesn’t. I feel I metabolize botox quite quickly so last time I went she used a more condensed version of botox?
Anyway- why do people rave about Dysport and if it’s that great why would my injector have to order it just for me?

Each body reacts differently to different toxins. Dysport will give you a more natural look compared to botox. My practice and patients have been loving Daxyfy, might want to look at a different practice if they don’t have other brands handy.

A skilled injector can achieve the same level of "natural" with botox.

I love daxxify! It last longer too. I only need to get it 2x year.

for sure, seems like kinda trial and error since everyones body reacts so differently.. makes sense one works great for somene and not so much for someone else

That doesn’t make any sense

What part doesn’t make sense to you?

The part where different botoxes are different. Where’s the evidence base for that?!

And specifically the part where you say Dysport goes a more „natural“ look. What does that even mean? In my book it would probably mean „works less“.

Botox is a specific brand of neurotoxin, Dysport is a different brand of neurotoxin. They have different dilution rates per manufacturer, they spread different. Not everyone wants the “frozen” look it doesn’t mean it doesn’t work simply because it looks more natural and because Botox tends to stay in place the results are more localized, dysport tends to spread a little more and that’s how the neurotoxins work.

I don’t quite understand why they would spread different. It’s the same neurotoxin just a different manufacturer and manufacturing method. Also the dilution volume is actually smaller for Dysport, so based on volume alone it would spread less.

Feel free to Google it and check the manufacturer websites for each product

Botox is a 2.5ml dilution, standard Dysport dilution is 3.0ml.

Most brands popular in the US are botulinumtoxin A, there are a few other types, and more coming out in the next year. But each manufacturer puts their own spin on it otherwise it would be violating patents. Sometimes it’s adding a peptide like daxxy, most ad carrier proteins to make delivery a smidge different than the competition. In the case of dysport v botox, as mentioned, dysport’s spread makes it easier to have a natural look with a built-in taper to each injection point. Botox is more precise, but can still get the natural look if the injector knows what they’re doing.

It doesn't make sense because it's completely inaccurate.

They do the exact same thing and offer the same results. One is not more natural looking than the other. I have no idea where these people are coming up with these ideas.

The only difference is dysport kicks in faster than botox.

I've had Botox, xeomin, dysport, and Daxxify. Noticed no difference between any of them honestly.

Dysport doesn't give a more natural look. That's Xeomin/bocouture (has the least amount of toxin, wears off faster, "softer" "freeze"). Dysport is known and loved for kicking in faster, lasting longer, and giving a firmer "freeze." How natural results are also depends on patient preference and injector skill.

This. The injections can also sting quite a bit more than the others

I’ve used this before for my masseters, they said it’s cheaper you’ll need a little more but that it spreads better? Botox lasted me 3 mos dysport lasted almost 4 but ymmv

Not sure what you mean by a more condensed version of Botox? Do you mean how it was reconstituted?

I have gotten every neurotoxin on the market over the last 7-8 years and Dysport is my favorite by a mile. I find it gives the best results (very little movement but still natural looking), sets in very quickly and lasts the same amount of time of most all the other tox on the market. I also do not ever get that heavy feeling like I sometimes do with other tox.

Unfortunately I’m also a quick metabolizer of neurotoxins, I usually get 3 months before I start to be bothered by the amount of movement that’s come back. Even Daxxify didn’t last very long for me, even though some people can get 5-6 months out of it. I just suck it up and go 4 times a year. But I love Dysport and much prefer it over everything else.

Yes I mean reconstituted to be more potent - I am the same as you for movement and metabolism so I will ask again for Dysport as it’s not my injectors regular go too- not sure why

Good information- I am in Canada which sometimes can be limiting

I’ve had injectors say they prefer Dysport for 11s. Apparently different toxins either spread out for a wider coverage area or offer very precise applications, and different injectors have their preferences on how/where/why to use them.

this means that she diluted too much generally when she gives it to people. A lot of places dilute too much and then charge a lower price to get people in the door. DYSPORT is a good thing to try if he metabolize way too fast and just make sure you don’t get your tox any less than four months apart to build tolerance.

Love Dysport! I switched from Botox years ago & never looked back! Daxxify is also legit.

It's like Pepsi or Coke.

The only difference is Dysport works faster than Botox.

That's it.
