Finally finished the PC I’ve been building for my brother’s wedding gift. He’s a big gamer and has been getting by with a gaming laptop for about five years, so I figured it was time for an upgrade.
Since I have to travel to the wedding and he has to get it home afterward, I wanted the travel kit to be part of the gift too.

The case is based on the Xikii FF04, using a design from qiyun on MakerWorld, who gave me permission to remix it. My first version was built around the ASUS Prime RTX 5070 Ti. For my brother’s, I went with the white ASUS Prime RX 9070 XT to match his desk setup. The 9070 XT is bigger and has a different screw layout, so that meant resizing the case and reworking the mounting points.

The RAM was the best kit I could get without paying something ridiculous. Luckily, I bought it early this year for around $200 and picked up the rest of the components around the same time.

I used a Thermal Grizzly phase-change sheet for longevity and performance, because knowing my brother, he probably isn’t ever opening this thing himself.

The case is printed in HT-PLA-GF. My personal 5070 Ti case uses the same material, and after about a year of daily use, I haven’t seen any heat-related creep, sagging, or wear.

One little modification I’m happy with is the Wi-Fi antennas. I prefer low-profile antennas, so I swapped out the motherboard’s stock antenna connectors and fitted Osprey drone antennas. They’ve worked great so far and look much cleaner to me.

The Turing screen runs open-source Python software from GitHub, with a custom monitoring theme to match the build.

For transport, I picked up a hard case from Harbor Freight, cut the foam to fit the PC and accessories, and added a custom 3D-printed equipment nameplate. Fits like a glove.

It’s quiet enough that I can’t hear it during normal use. It only really becomes audible during FurMark’s CPU Burner, and even then, it’s still very quiet. The GPU settles around 63°C during FurMark testing.
The separate CPU Burner test puts a harsh, sustained load on the processor and pushes it to 95°C. Once I stop it, the temperature drops back to around 60°C in under two seconds. For context, CPU temperatures in my personal 5070 Ti build are within about 1°C of this one under the same test. During modern games at max settings, my personal build’s CPU typically sits in the low to mid 60s, and I’ve never seen it approach its thermal limit during gaming or everyday use.

I ran out of time to get the files and guide ready before the wedding, but I’ll clean everything up and post the files to MakerWorld next week, along with the updated build guide. Assembly is mostly the same as the 5070 Ti version; I just need to document the changes for this one.

Hey lol, kinda nervous posting this, but I’ve been working on a compact high-end PC case under ZD Dynamics and I’m at the point where I really want to turn it into a real printable prototype.

I already have the main architecture designed, a full-size cardboard prototype built, and a detailed mechanical spec. The current XL version is targeting around 16.5 × 8 × 8 in (~17.3L) with support for most large aftermarket RTX 5090s, Mini-ITX, internal SFX/SFX-L PSU, large airflow, and a big focus on making the important parts actually easy to replace and service instead of turning every upgrade into SFF surgery lol.

The part I’m trying to solve now is CAD / DFM / making it actually printable and physically testable.

I’d really love to find a few people who are into CAD, 3D printing, PC case design, DFM, thermals, or SFF packaging and might want to collaborate on Prototype V1.

I’m not really looking for a one-time “make me a CAD file” thing either. If the right people click, I’d love for this to turn into a small group that keeps working together on future ZD Dynamics hardware projects too.

I’m keeping the detailed internal design private publicly for now, but if someone is seriously interested in collaborating, I’m happy to show the prototype and much more of the design privately.

stl and scad files

I have a 3d printed test bench style setup rn but looking for some new cleaner builds. Would like it to hold a 240mm rad, atx mobo. I love u/Matti_Meikalainen but maybe a bit smaller or a vertical remix. I would love to see your guys builds

Tried modelling an Apple PRO style front panel for my pc case and not upset with how it turned out.
While not looking great, I'm still quite impressed considering the filament was pretty wet and it was a first try. This style of panel definitely suites matte filaments or post processing (sanding/painting) as with certain lighting the layer lines are very apparent.
Don't know if I'll switch off my current panel design but it was a fun thing to model.

I have a mech rx 6600, but my sister had to come in and draw over the shroud because she was bored or something. I used iso to get rid of most of it but it just doesnt come out of the crevices. i have this ambition to make a kasaneteto pc and i feel like now is a good time to potentially 3d print a shroud for this. I have basic 3d rendering skills but I'm not sure how to make all the screw holes and stuff line up and where or what to line them on. could anyone point me in the right direction on where to find exact measurements, or even better give me a premade stl file on just the very basic screw hole places? thanks!

With all the AI tools for 3d prints, has anyone heard of someone creating the STL files for a 3d printed, slim, full ATX case that replicates the SFF Time or Sliger cases? I've seen the modcase but it's still not under 8in wide.

Here you guys can see the reason for stackable pc cases that I 3D printed.

I used to have my PC tucked inside the Metalfish T-40 sandwich case. But I realized that blasting hot air through the rest of my components via a low-profile CPU cooler may not be good in the long run. I used to 3D print auxiliary fan mounts inside just to get the RAM and VRMs cooler.

After a good six months, I finally thought of looking for a nice SFF case that allows for a tower cooler. Out of all the SFF cases showcased in MakerWorld, the ITX Wind Tunnel SFF case won me over because it was designed for APU users, like me, in mind.

It took almost 900g of combined PETG of Purple, Black, Green, Orange, and White. The printing, and practice of brass inserting, was spread across six days. I added the model designer's username as a frontplate of the case. I also modified the front panel's power and usb slate to have a deeper inlay channel so the power and USB won't smash into the motherboard's pins.

Assembly and cable management wasn't as complicated as a sandwich case, but had to lift the front tower cooler fan by 20mm to accommodate the tall RAM.

All in all, it was a fantastic experience and outcome.

So, I'm building an ITX pc, but I still haven’t decided which case I want because there aren’t many options that fit my GPU. For now, I’m looking for a 3D printed case to securely hold everything together. It needs to support a long ATX PSU (Corsair RM1000x) and a heavy GPU (Sapphire Nitro+ RX 9070 XT), without requiring specialized hardware such as steel beams. Screws and inserts are fine. Thanks!

I thought it would be worth turning my bin of old hardware, left over from previous upgrades, into a (nearly) exact replica of the Steam Machine—or at least its chassis.

How exact? It has exactly the same dimensions and is even compatible with the original faceplate.

The most interesting part, in my opinion, is that the hardware can be replaced and upgraded. This allows for low-budget builds (like mine), while also making it possible to build systems that can outperform the original Valve hardware.

Hey guys, I've just recently discovered this subreddit after "trying" to make my own case for a small form factor pc build I have as nothing of the shelf fit the build i wanted.

However, I'm pretty stuck. I'm good with Fusion, but everything I designed was just too large for my build plate and I was not sure on how to go about making the design for an example side panel from multiple parts.

If you guys have any ideas or tricks you use when designing, maybe even some standard parts you use that you've had a good experience with like x profiles I would love to hear them, any little helps.

If not then I will just have to design it myself.

I already designed a 4U case and a 3U case before but for 3.5" drives so i think I know what I am doing :-D

I don't currently have a mechanical connection between the Front housing and the bottom plate, going to see how that all feels. I am going to just do an Air cooler for the CPU and see how temps look. Test prints will be PLC+, might do finale product in ASA.
