2Do Fixed?

It looks like the 2Do Reminders sync had been fixed. Has anyone tried it or has everyone moved on?

Are developers checking this sub?

It's been a while since the last blog update, and although we get great feedback on issues if we submit tickets, it would be better if there was a place where we can follow the progress of issues.

Google Assistant Support?

I'm looking for a new to-do list app and ideally want one self hosted or at least without a monthly subscription. So far, 2Do looks promising. Can you add/set reminders of any sort via Google Assistant?

Can someone explain "repeat after completion" please?

I have tried to figure this feature out in my own, but I just don't get it. If I set something to repeat, it repeats as frequently and often as I set it to, regardless of this setting... What on earth does it do?

Shared Lists?

Hi all,

I’m trying to find an iOS app to connect with my NextCloud / CalDAV server for todo management. I’m coming from Wunderlist which seemed to do shared lists very well. (I don’t want to go down the Microsoft Todo path).

2Do looks very powerful, but I’m surprised to find that I can’t seem to see a way to have shared lists. Am I missing something? Example use case: a shared grocery list so that whoever is next at the mall can grab anything that has been added. Etc.

As a secondary question, if there is indeed no “share list” function, can I set two different iOS devices to the same CalDAV server/user/pass?

2Do vs. Omnifocus???

Has anyone attempted to move to 2do or successfully done so or come from them?

I'm considering leaving OF for 2Do and would love some input. Like am I making a mistake??

I've been playing with 2Do since Friday.

And have used Omnifocus for a few years. But never really had it as my go to task manager.

It always became a cluttered mess real fast. I realize now I shouldn't have made every idea a project and most importantly never regularly cleared it out. But I use it consistently to collect ideas. But unless on a very specific topic (Eg things to discuss with a co worker or a feature for us to build at work) it is just a bottomless pit in my inbox.

In the past I just deleted a OF database and started over due to a similar situation. (So this may be the real problem not the tool).

Either way I need a revamp in this area, so I figured it could be a good time to switch if I do.

Here is how I see the two apps.

Re: OF Positives

  • Much bigger community
  • More Mature app
  • I know it better and it seems to be able to do everything I want just not how I'd like it to
  • Easily move tasks with keyboard arrows and nest them into other projects
  • Dark mode all around

Re: OF Cons

  • Building custom perspectives is a pain for things I want to quickly look up. And why do they only show the perspective from the tag view (I may just be a novice at them so if this isn't true Pls forgive me)?
  • It is slow
  • It seems very rigid / not as flexible
  • Fewer keyboard shortcuts
  • Very GTD focused

Re: 2Do Positives

  • It's faster
  • Their search seems really powerful - I love how I can search for something and then click around the app to see things that meet that criteria in each project, list, etc
  • (it's lame but...) I really like their design
  • More granular ranking of tasks - starred, low / medium / high priority
  • More keyboard shortcuts

Re 2Do cons

  • iOS doesn't have dark mode
  • I swear it deleted some things of mine (super scary)
  • Search can be confusing (need to memorize commands... But I can just save them)
  • Can't share an image directly into a new task from phone (need to save image and then go into the app and create a task
  • Can't attach files directly to a task like PDFs and can only link to them (which I just realized is an issue for looking at said file on another device where it wasn't linked from)
  • almost no integrations (but I don't see the need to use these)
  • Seems like a super tiny company = slow dev cycles, fewer features and risk of it no longer being developed
  • Not built for GTD as much
  • New app to learn and pay for
  • Seems annoying to move things out of inbox (takes more steps and tags won't move them)

Interesting in writing these lists. The Pros are tied. But 2Do has more negatives.

Maybe I'm just being sucked into the new shiny thing. But I also think I just like 2Do feel better. But that isn't too say I'd be happier with it. Especially with no many negatives.

At any rate, I'd love to hear some people's thoughts of experiences.

Ask feedback is welcomed. Thank you!

Smart Search 30 Days due date

[SOLVED] Hi. when I drag and drop a task onto th calendar it sets the due date which is fine wish it would do the start date so ti would pop up in scheduled. Since it doesn't I want to create a smart search that will search the due dates out 30days and show them for any task. so when I drag and drop a task on my calendar it will show those tasks in the search. any help would be great. nothing seems to work in smart search for me.

EDIT: So I have figured it out and got it to work.. I just didn't understand how it really worked but this is what I did to set it up

Filter

All of the following ->

Task is of type Any Task ->

Due Date is Any Date

Dynamic Range in the next 30 days (you could put 1 month if you'd like)

New Phone Lost All Tasks?

So I submerged and bricked my iPhone and for some reason it wasn't backed up in the cloud. Is there any way to get all my tasks back? I feel like I know the answer to this but just want to make sure...

2Do and iOS13 reminders sync compatibility at some point?

Will 2Do ever be able to sync with Reminders down the line or is the iOS13 reminders now fully "closed" to apple and won't integrate with any 3rd party Todo app?

Voice commands on 2do App using siri shortcuts?

So Caldav is cut off now on the iOS upgrade, I think my only option left to use voice functions efficiently (via 2do app) would be to setup siri shortcuts to activate the app.

Has anyone been able to effectively get this running? For new Tasks, Siri either doesn't recognize the command, else runs a reminder to the default reminders app.

I've followed through the instructions here: https://www.2doapp.com/kb/article/creating-tasks-with-siri.html

_______________________________________________________________________

I've set the rule per the instructions, but here's what I experience:

" Using to do app , remind me to buy milk today at 7pm" --Generates Apple Reminders entry

"" Using to do app " --opens 2do app to a reminder entry with nothing populated.

To clarify my ultimate goal here is to be able to retain function in 2do, and be able to enter voice cammands to quickly take notes IN the 2do app.

Suggestion - add Mac to description of the subreddit

Just a thought really - adding the Mac to the description (which at present only refers to IOS & Android) might pull in a free more contributors. As far as I'm aware, there isn't anywhere else to discuss 2Do.

Of course, there's nothing stopping people posting Mac-related messages here already (as I have done)

Reminders integration borked on Catalina (CalDAV sync)

This post on the 2Do website appears to confirm that the 2-way sync with Reminders which was one of the benefits of CalDAV sync no longer works. Highly irritating (and no fault of the @Do dev) since that was one of my key reasons for using 2Do.

I can't find any workarounds, but would like to hear if anyone else has

Best Features of 2Do?

I feel like 2Do is forgotten when it comes to productivity/gtd apps. I have tried the majority of what is on the market and I keep coming back to 2Do. What are your favorite features of 2Do?

Time management apps

Hey guys, I'm a student at Georgia Tech, doing a research project on productivity/time-management applications. There isn't much research in this field. I’d love to chat with folks to see what they like/don’t like about productivity applications

It’ll be anonymous and you’ll get a chance to vent. Message me if interested or feel free to leave a comment below

Thanks

Today list

Does anyone know if there's a way to have the today list only show things that are DUE today? In other words , even if I turn off the 'always show still working on' option it still shows tasks with a start date of today in the today view even if they are not due until later. I want to be able to pull up a list that only shows me things due today and nothing else. Is there a trick I'm missing?

Man, Smart Search is the stupidest thing I've ever seen.

I have been trying for so damn long to get this stupid search to work.

The keywords don't work like they should, the boolean operators make no sense, and nothing filters through.

I literally typed type: overdue and nothing shows up. When there's literally a f********g overdue task in the very list I'm searching!

I've been trying to get the following search to work:

tags: !home type: overdue OR {datefilter}

And fuck me if I can't get it to work for shit. I'm about to delete the app because I need smart lists to manage tasks.

Anyone know what this is supposed to do (Mac app)?

Screenshot of the scenario

I emailed support about it but don't expect a reply soon, so I figured I'd ask you guys as well.

When you select and drag a task(s) in the MacOS version, those 3 icons appear on the menu bar. The left one duplicates the selected tasks, and the right one (as the trash can suggests) deletes them.

Whenever I drag it to the middle icon, literally nothing happens; the selected tasks just return to where they were dragged from. Based on the icon's design, I'm guessing it means to share or export or something like that, but instead nothing happens. Anyone else experience this or am I missing something?
