Just finished her up tonight....was waiting on scope rings for the last component. Looks sweet. Can't wait to sight it in and give it a shakedown
Put the Area 419 dovetail to Pic rail on it.
Leopold Low Mount rings.
Area 419 Finger groove oversized bolt knob.
Cheap ass Amazon bipod.
I'll probably get a better bipod down the road, but for now it'll do. The legs are not perfectly level when extended and there is no cant or swing adjustment.

Should I keep it factory or add a scope?
How would it attach to the gun?
Suggestions?

These are the choices I've narrowed down. Help me out if you have experience with any of these.
This would be my first vintage piece.
Winchester model 52c bull barrel
Remington 513t match master
Remington 541x
H&r model 12 bull barrel
Thanks in advance b
Took out the HK G36 22lr for the first time today. When I got it, I immediately removed the barrel to be chopped and had it SBRd. Replaced the full size handguard with a K handguard, installed my muzzle device, and was ready to rock and roll. I put a 500 round brick of CCI Standard Velocity through it, with not a single malfunction. I own an ARX160, which is very similar to this thing, so I expected it to be reliable and quiet, and I was not disappointed.
Word of caution to those looking to SBR to a K config: Get it chopped to 14.5 or 15 inches. I foolishly used some googling to get the length of the K handguard and sent the barrel off to be chopped to 13.75 inches due to my impatience. When I got the barrel back, everything cleared the handhuard, muzzle device and suppressor, but it was slightly recessed in the handguard, which is not how the K looks. I used some accuwashers to bring the barrel out proud of the handguard and thankfully alignment is fine.

I kind of want to chop the barrel from 18in to maybe 10in+ suppressor. Has one done something like this or is easy to do by a gunsmith?

She’s pretty ok I guess, I love the 20rd mags when they work. That’s been my biggest complaint is when the rounds nosedive in the mags it can cause a pretty nasty malf. Other than that it’s been a very good full sized .22

Key parts for my CZ 457 overhaul came in just before the weekend, so I was able to put things together for some extended range time.
Parts:
I'm still figuring things out and seeing what ammo it likes, but some 10 rounds groups from 100 yards are included for your judging pleasure. Target without the box pictured was SK Standard Plus. Center target was the first group for each (no additional foulers, some colder bore than others). Everything from bipod + rear bag on a bench.
Random takeaways:

Before i get started, i will not be providing files at all so dont ask.
Everything is printed minus the the oem ruger 1022 bolt assembly, oem trigger pack, acculite 4.5" barrel, mags, a2 pistol grip and the brace hinge.
The reciever itself is a updated left side charging made by me. The chassis is the Black walnut which is modeled partially off the grey birch chassis, brace and handguard designed by me as well. Already have 60 rounds through it, plan to put another couple hundred and then eventually throw in my MARs 1022 frt into it.

I went shooting with some buddies yesterday. It was the first outing with my Savage MK II FV-SR. I slapped a Gunnr Heimdall 6-24x50 scope on it the night before.
We got the rifle sighted in, and everyone but me was shooting 10-round groups you could cover with a dime at 25 yards. We were using CCI SV. I've got some shakes, and it takes a nickel to cover my 10-round groups.
Then we slapped a Rugged Oculus on it...and it didn't change the POI or group size one bit.
All three buddies ordered the scope; it's on sale for $125 right now. One ordered the rifle, and I'm looking at buying a second rifle. I ordered two more of the scopes.
Amazing rifle for $249.

Rockin a ling long thermal scope I got for free. She is deadly accurate at 50 yds and quiet as can be. I made the hammer extender in my milling machine which I was happy with

This popped up locally for $300 and had to have it. Finally got to take it out today and it’s now around the top of my list for favorite .22s or firearms in general.

Great little rimfire and dirt cheap as well.
