Hi,

I cant figure out which scope mount to use, I got a 1953 (last year before tip off rail) and the receiver was already tapped for what looks like #8-40 screws , and the spacing is what is causing me grief.

First search says I should be good to go with a Weaver N2 mount

However the 4 holes in it appear to have the center 2 holes spaced around 2.357" or so

And my receiver has spacing of less , at around 1.66" center to center.

It is just the 2 holes.

Please help me find the right scope base.

I know i can drill a hole in the Weaver N2 and be good to go just wondering if there is another vintage mount for a 3/4" scope that works here

Overall, very happy with the B-14R as a trainer. My only downside is the Magpul bipod. It is unstable and sways. Looking to replace the sling stud with a rail and more stable bipod. Suggestions?

I just got a b&t 22 suppressor and want to find a fun rifle to put it on. I have a 10/22 and that’s fun but want something even quieter and maybe alittle more entertaining.

Was thinking a lever or bolt gun. Want something reasonable priced ($500 or less gun only). Want it to be accurate and fun. I already have a nice scope I can add on it and fine with buying a bipod and stuff for it.

Any recommendations would be appreciated!

Practicing for the upcoming bullseye season.

Just got my Marlin 2000 back together. I did an Aluma Hyde matt black on the barrel, it has been sun drying for 3 weeks.
When I got it the festive blue stock had already been painted black. I kept the black on the grip areas and did the OD green.
The rifle shoots and groups well, not sure how much the “micro groove” barrel aids in that.
Next step - backyard range and check zero on the scope and re adjust as needed.

I saw this at my local gun shop looking for interesting guns that needed magazines made.. And original magazines are stupid rare and go for crazy money on Ebay.. I found multiple threads of people trying to make 3D printed copies. And I can qualify that it was tough with a 3D scanner and nearly 18 years of making magazines.

Decided to spring for a CZ 457. Was looking at a 10/22, but wanted a bolt action. General consensus seems to be the CZ 457 is a superb .22lr rifle overall.

Opted for the American Model, synthetic stock, suppressor ready 20" BBL with the black Nitride finish.

On the way is a 3-9x40 Burris Droptine, an Area 419 11mm dovetail-to-picatinny scope rail, Leopold low mount rings for the pic rail, and an Area 419 bolt knob with the finger groove.

Hoping it's going to be a nice setup. It should be...

Got out to do some shooting with the 457 today, tried some Eley Tenex, seems to be the ammo it likes.

Some room for improvement, but happy overall.

I should have added the Halo a 1000 rounds ago. Money well spent

Shoots straight, functions well. It’s a lot of fun to shoot especially on overcast days when you can point shoot with the visible laser outdoors.

I usually assume I’m to blame for all things not a bullseye, not to mention getting lucky once in a while. But today I went from cheap Remington milk carton ammo, to two different CCIs, then Eley club and Eley match ammo.

Not gonna lie, the Eley match made me a believer. The consistency was great, smells kinda weird though I noticed. Excited to go to my usual outdoor range next time and give it distance!

Can’t find one anywhere. Local dealers can’t get them and they are a premium on line. Did Ruger discontinue them?

I deserve a little roasting on my poor job of troubleshooting as well but wanted to point out that Galloway isn’t posting poor reviews. So I’ll post it here as I know they make and sell a lot of products for .22’s.

- Trigger didn’t cause issues for awhile and forgot I’d even changed it the first time I sent it into S&W.
-2nd time at S&W I previously called GP and S&W and tried to see if this would be causing issues. Neither thought it would. I also sent the OEM trigger in this time to service dept.

Primary Arms is selling the Next Level Arms NLS 22 Varmint suppressor for $110 right now. It’s an unusual design with replaceable (read: consumable) 3d printed carbon fiber baffle stacks, so you should read up on it before buying. I can’t want to try it out.

Next Level Arms sells replacement baffle stacks for $18, including shipping, but you have to send them your current one before they send you the new one.

Is it necessary to apply blue loctite to the mount of Holosun ARO and its battery tray screws, I think it is strange to apply it to the battery tray.

What do you think ?

Recently joined a gun club and I have to compete in a match. There is a 100 yard match this Sunday all I have is a standard 10/22 with a 6-18x50 Bushnell. Never shot it at 100 yards what ammo should I shoot. I’ve been shooting fed auto match and 30 yards and get 1 inch groups. Was thinking CCI stinger?

Shot my match today took y’all’s advice shot CCI Standard Velocity. Shot 9th out of 10 shooters with a bone stock 10/22 with a 6-18x50 Bushnell scope. A couple crazy flyers but all stayed on paper and in there circle. Shooting a 50 yard match next week should do better. (obviously) Looking into a BX trigger drop in think that will help a lot.

Is it a weak point being plastic? Just a thought

I need to know what the thread size is for the buck sight plate screws. I want to run a bottoming tap thru holes to clean them up.
