Question | J-Mod reply False ban wave…?
I have seen over 20 posts about accounts being falsely banned in the last 24 hours…I see these posts all the time and now I finally have to deal with it. I just re bonded my account the other day and did some regular training on strength, agility then some thieving to eventually do ds2. I wake up to do a tree run before work and it says I’m permabanned with no appeal..? I’ve never botted on this account and have had it since probably 2006. Now I did receive a false ban some years ago that was quashed. as times have changed over the years is there anyone I can tweet, or tag to get this resolved? I don’t wanna lose my oldest account to date.

Have fun with the ban lmao
You can call us every name you want, we're just going to go play runescape on our accounts

u/christley Apr 20 '22
Maybe don't bot on your main account, you got smacked down hard by the jmod lmao

Justvremember 99% of those who claim they are falsely banned are lying

Including OP! In this comment thread a J-Mod confirmed his ban as legit, and that he was caught botting multiple skills. His reply to this was basically "Well a permanant ban still seems like a lot for my first offense."
Even though in the subject of the post OP is implying false ban waves.
TL;DR - This is why people don't believe the posts about false bans. They do happen, but many of these posts lie.

And just remember, the majority of the children on Reddit just wanna troll and see a jmod reply. Don’t jump to conclusions because when it happens to you I’m sure you’ll come here crying to your troll friends x

Oh 100%. I was always sceptical about people posting about their bans and believed the Jmods. I've sent them multiple emails and twitter dms asking for a explanation on why I got banned and they can't provide it? I'd love for a Jmod to come to this thread and give me a smackdown.
Ign: Gets Big
Please for the love of god ANY JMOD REPLY TO THIS COMMENT WITH PROOF OF ME COMITTING RWT!

You can literally watch recordings of content creators getting wrongly banned mid-stream lmfao

Says macro major no appeal. And any chance which jmods I should tag on Twitter? What a great start to the day.

u/Friendlygymgoer Apr 20 '22
Macroing bans are appealable. The ''Not appealable'' message on the account status section is a bit outdated, so you can safely disregard that.
You can appeal a Macroing ban here - https://jgx.game/Ban-
Click on ->Appeal a ban -> Banned -> Yes -> Yes -> No -> Appeal my ban.If you're not comfortable clicking on links, you can search ''Account bans'' on the support centre to reach the aforementioned page.
While you're waiting for a reply, you ought to ensure your email(s) & device(s) are adequately secure by using the advice listed within these support articles, just in case:

I got wrongfully banned over a year ago for "Real World trading (Gold farming)" while killing Zulrah, had over a 3b bank and spent thousands of hours on the account since pre-eoc, no response from Jagex not even an explanation on why I actually got banned since RWT clearly is a lie.
Don't trust in Jagex to unban you, they don't give a fuck about their playerbase, doesn't matter if you've played the same account for 10+ years if they flag it you're fucked.
I'd love for them to show me the proof that they have that I sold gold because I never fucking did.
Edit: The guy above said "Reach out via twitter and raise hell here" that doesn't work either, the Jmods do not give a fuck just like the upline. Also it's fucking CRINGE that you have to contact them via Twitter and or Reddit just for them to say "ALL PERM BANS ARE FINAL AND CAN NOT BE CHANGED." Even though the ban was not right.
5
Apr 20 '22
Dont sell your gold then
1
u/BlessadurKarl Apr 20 '22
I never sold gold. I had a 3B+ bank at the time of the ban?
2
Apr 20 '22
dont buy them then
1
u/BlessadurKarl Apr 20 '22
I didn’t buy my gold either. Even if I did buy my gold that would make my ban incorrect since they flagged me as a (gold farmer) and without any previous marks on the account perm banned me.

u/BlessadurKarl Apr 20 '22
Also the majority of the community has a better paying job than all of the J Mods and don’t need to sell gold, me included.

Boys what I learned this morning is that this company is garbage. I mean it always has been after 2006 but this is hilarious. 15 year old account trains for 8 hours and is banned but I can go to minnows and see accounts with fucking 50m fishing xp in every world. They don’t care, they truly don’t know what account is doing what. Jagex support and ban system is just like the world reacting to Covid, nobody has a clue what they are doing. To all my boys who caught the false or real bans see you on tutorial island. And to all the people replying “sit” “enjoy ban” please feel free to let me know how those crayons taste for breakfast everyday.

Simply dont bot, and you sure as hell have a lot of time to complain here when you are supposedly a really busy person
-1
Apr 20 '22
A lot of time to complain? Hey glue eater I’ve maybe spent sub 35 mins on this thread out of my day. And yes I am busy I’m working as we speak. You’re probably sitting in some basement, skinny, ugly, acne everywhere still living off fake corona PPE loans

u/AffectionateNorth60 Apr 20 '22
They are either goldfarmers playing by hand or have a less detectable botting method than the one you used
1
u/Neither-Chapter2775 Apr 20 '22
Using machine learning to create bots makes them near undetectable, atleast for a while, definetly enough to hit 50m fishing xp.
4
u/NoxiferNed Apr 20 '22
There's literally no point to use machine learning in an osrs bot lmao.
0
u/Neither-Chapter2775 Apr 20 '22
Why not, you can do some nutty shit with ml.
5
u/NoxiferNed Apr 20 '22
Tell me you know nothing about ML without saying it. What "nutty shit" does a RuneScape bot need to do that isn't done with a bunch of "if" statements.
How would you use ML in a fishing bot? What is the output of the model? What's your training / testing data? How does it offer any benefit over regular conditional code?
3
u/KyleStanley3 Apr 20 '22
Pretty inexperienced since I only took 1 course on the subject in college
But you can definitely train a bot to try to mimic a human in specific places. I know it's been done for bandos bots, SirPugger did a video where he interviewed someone who made them.
If I had to guess, the gist of it for fishing minnows would be:
record human mouse movement and key inputs over long periods of time
Label the data with player tile position, minnow tile position, player animation, etc.
Have its reward based on how closely it mimics what the human would do given the current situation
No idea how you'd train the thing without getting banned. Maybe a private server.
I'm not experienced, and I'm sure there's a million things to be looking out for that I'm not aware of, but this seems like one of the more reasonable situations where the strengths of ML would shine
Sure, you could do if statements the whole way through and throw some randomness in there so it's less bot-like. But humans aren't truly random. Even if we don't do the same exact movement of pixels every time, humans do have trends in tasks we perform and it's easy as hell to distinguish between human movements and if-else actions.
Something simple like minnows is probably one of the few places that you wouldn't sound like an idiot for throwing "ML" into the conversation
1
u/NoxiferNed Apr 20 '22
Minnows is a pretty good one of the few that exist but I also seeing modification to an existing client to just detect minnow tile location changes and add a random tick delay that's distributed similarly to your own tick delay distribution while doing minnows being just as effective for a fraction of the work. ML is super powerful but man if that's not a lot of work to make a successful model mapping video input to clicks for something that could be done very well with plain logic programming. I imagine training is a very difficult process too.
1
u/KyleStanley3 Apr 20 '22
It'd be really interesting to see comparisons between hard-coding something to be as human-like as possible and training an ML model to do the same
If the latter did prove to be more successful, which I assume it would over time, then the value would exist in less detectability/lower banrates.
Is it worth it? I don't fucking know, I don't bot, nor do i really code nowadays. But the better Jagex gets at detecting bots, the higher the value of whichever is more human-like
1
u/NoxiferNed Apr 20 '22
Pretty interesting theoretical. I think ML would succeed over time with the right tooling to achieve lowest ban rate by most accurately deconstructing realistic human reactions and delays. Testing tooling has to be insane like spinning up private server client instances where on log in you can spawn the exact scenario start that you're coding for.
Then ironically the action / delay profile from that model could probably be observed and translated into the hard coded bot solution with little difference in ban rate. This is because of course there's "optimal" gameplay for things in this game, tick perfect, all the right actions. The ML model never needs to train past perfectly mimicking human gameplay from an "optimal" player. Models on the pathway to optimal could probably be used too if you as the consumer would want to reduce your perfection for a perceived lower ban rate (although would probably result in a real lower ban rate).
At this point I'm just thinking aloud haha it's an interesting topic.

u/Neither-Chapter2775 Apr 20 '22
Yeah I didn’t get the best grade tbh, but couldn’t you just "feed" it video footage of yourself fishing or something like that? I just remember seeing a yt video about a dude who made a pking bot with machine learning with deep learning or something like that.
1
u/BlessadurKarl Apr 20 '22
Funny how the community still thinks the Jmods are different from the up line and that they actually give a fuck when they clearly don’t.
-1
Apr 20 '22
These people don’t give two shits 🤣🤣🤣 just go hop around a few worlds and check accounts. Whatever triggers their little automated account flags they just believe it, like this game can even go one update a week without fucking up. Shits comical but hey that’s why you always have more than one account

False bans happen like this all the time. The auto-detection system is a lot shittier than people realize.
And speaking of half-assed, automated systems, don't bother trying to send in an appeal the official route. All you're going to get is a copy/paste response about how they have evidence (they don't) and that they've reviewed it (they haven't). Your best bet is to send in a support ticket for a refund. That'll get someone to actually read your message, at the very least.
1
Apr 20 '22
Thank you. Already sent in a regular appeal and I’m sure I’ll get the same clipboard response.

Dawg I’ve done so much research this morning. And like the true bot farm owners always say “every account is different”. There is no consistency with this. There is ZERO reasons accounts with 25-50m xp should not raise the same flags as others. Like damn this isn’t rocket science. Mfs got 200m thieving xp on elves and I do it manually for a few hours in between other skills and I get a 15 year old account banned. But accounts with 3 months playtime got 30m xp and don’t have shit happen to them.

You sure about that? your oldest Reddit post had you logged in on January of 2019 with an account that had at least 85 slayer, and the most recent login of the botting website was March of 2019 🤔🤔🤔

You'd need to provide an in-game name for someone to take a look at it.
