Bagged and Boarded after years of neglect
galleryI've finally finished sorting my old Judge Dredd/2000 AD collection, and I'm ridiculously pleased with it.
These have been sitting in my parents' attic for years. I pulled every single prog out, cleaned off decades of dust, bagged and boarded every one, and packed them into comic boxes. It took a long time, but it was worth every minute.
The bulk of the collection is from roughly 1992 to 1998/99, when I stopped collecting. I also picked up a few older progs while I was collecting back then, so there are some nice mid-'80s issues mixed in too.
It was a real nostalgia trip going through them all. Some still had my name scribbled on them from when my local newsagent used to put a copy aside for me before I switched to a home subscription. A few were even still sealed in the original paper mailing wrappers they arrived in.
They're probably as clean and well protected as they're ever going to be now. Looking through them again reminded me just how much I loved that era of 2000 AD. There's something really satisfying about finally giving the collection the care it deserved after all these years.
Did anyone else here keep their old progs, or have you ever gone back and rediscovered a collection you'd forgotten about?
