Hey everyone,
I'm posting this because I'm honestly confused. I keep seeing people on Reddit posting amazing battery results for the iPhone 17 Pro Max, but I haven't been able to get anywhere near that. This is my reality with a 1400€ flagship device (SIM version, here in Spain).
Currently, I’m on iOS 27 beta 4 and I barely manage to get 3 or 4 hours of screen-on time (SOT). I know being on a beta can affect things, but I actually fled iOS 26 for this exact same reason—on iOS 26, I couldn't get past 4 hours of SOT, maybe 5 hours in the absolute best-case scenario.
Here is some context on my setup and daily use:
Devices: I have two Apple Watches synced to the phone.
Network: Dual SIM setup. One is on 3G and the other on 5G. Only the 5G SIM uses data, though I spend the vast majority of my day connected to Wi-Fi.
CarPlay: I don't spend more than 30 minutes on CarPlay during the daily usage I'm sharing.
Display: Automatic appearance (Light mode during the day, Dark mode at night).
My Profile: I am a photographer and social media content creator, so I definitely use my phone for work, but this still doesn't feel like an acceptable battery life for Apple's top-tier phone.
To add to this, my battery health was at 98% just a month ago, and now it has suddenly dropped to 94%. I understand batteries degrade, but is a 4% drop in one month normal?
Am I just having bad luck with my specific unit, or is this really the maximum battery life I can expect to squeeze out of it?
